I am looking forward to seeing a third manreaper sarge. Everything in this army is fantastic but those guys make my jaw drop. I really think a squad of them would make for a sweet bodyguard for an up and coming centurion. *hint hint, please make more if able :)

Seeing the recent additions get some paint promises for some awesome upcoming updates. I also like the upscale CSM. Love to see him finished off and see if he carries the same bulk as your earlier upscaled marines.

Also, huge thanks for the tutorial and tips for the mk6 armor. I’ve finally knuckled up and rolled some green stuff and busted out the cord/tentacle maker. I have a few test subjects curing now. :)

DuskRaider: Cheers! Count the Seven!
hushrong: Thanks! Also no problem, looking forward to see what you come up with.

Been a while, I've had a few games with Mekol and our new campaign is coming to a close with one last game before we move deeper in the Isstvan V atrocity with traitor forces going for the heads of his Raven Guard.
Death Guard are coming together slowly and purposefully, but I wanted to take a little break and paint something else so I picked up a few models from the cabin and painted them from start to finish.

Here's a small Prosecutor squad for my Sisters of Silence allies. They are such wonderful models to paint, and I'm pretty happy with how they turned out.
It's pretty much the exact recipe you can find on Warhammer TV with the exception of the cloaks being blue.

Here's a closeup prior to pigments on the bases.

I also tested out a colour scheme for my Imperial Army and I'm quite happy with it. They currently have only a flat basecoat and a blue wash on the coats and a Agrax Earthshade wash on the rest. I could churn these out pretty fast to have a "table top quality" force in a jiffy, but I think they will look great going over the colours again to make them look a bit more crisp.

To finish off I also made a few vexillas for the guardsmen, they are now based and I've greenstuffed all the missing detail on the rifles.

That's it for now, C&C most welcome as always.
Cheers!

Thanks to your help I’ve got a handful of mk6 Alpha Legion operatives and more to come when I get back from my trip. Your mk6 work also gave me an idea to make mk5 armor as well but I need to refine it.

The Sisters of Silence look great. The paint job for the armor and flesh look fantastic but the blue of their capes really make them pop in my eyes. It’s such a great color you’ve painted and combo’d with their armor. The guardsmen are looking great as well and I love the new additions to their ranks.

Those sisters look terrific. I'm looking away now before I impulse-buy a squad out of sheer desire to paint some myself. The blue cloaks were a good choice, they complement the bronze nicely.

What did you use for fixing the rifles on your Vostroyans, by the way?

Apologist: Thanks! I imagine the Imperium scouring the whole galaxy for such particular talents.
Bjorn Firewalker: Thank you!
hushrong: So it seems and they look fantastic. :smile.: Thanks! I wanted to have a really regal blue.
Urauloth: Heed not the whispers of the Warp, for they spell your wallets doom! If by fixing the rifles you are referring to my Vexillas, it was just a matter of drilling, pinning and filling.
Volt: I used a bunch of 1mm spacers on the legs and on the torso.
Pearson73: Cheers!

Been a while, I've been a bit busy elsewhere...

However I managed to have a whole day to myself last sunday without anyone bothering me, at all! :biggrin.:
How I spent it was to work on some heavy weapon teams for the Imperial Army. I got this nifty idea of being able to remove the spotter from the base as a cool wound counter, so I fiddled around a bit and got this as a result. I basically picked whatever Sector Imperial bases and tried to mask them into the surrounding to a reasonable standard. I hope the Valhallan models will blend well enough with the Vostroyans, having more of a levy troop look than going around in full parade gear. Anyway, here they be:

The Vostroyan Vexillas are also primed so you can see the detail a bit better.

That's it for now, thanks for looking.
Cheers!

The bases are sweet! I love how you are using the valhallans with their more practical uniforms unlike the glory seeking infantry. Looking forward to the painting!

Also love your converted model from your other gaming. My buddy bought it yesterday and we played and I used that mean lady to splat her enemies. You conversion with her is awesome especially since she and hers are some delicate minis.

Leviathus: Thanks!
hushrong: Cheers! It's a lovely bunch. :smile.:

Hungry Nostraman Lizard: Cheers!

I've been busy painting the Imperial Army lately and me and Mekol finished our newest Isstvan III campaign with him victorious against loyalist Death Guard forces. I snapped a few money shots from select squads and the game.

Here's where the Imperial Army is at. I've painted the spotters for the lascannon teams as well as their bases, but I still need to work on the rest of the operators and the weapons themselves. I also managed to batch paint a full squad of Vostroyan models and then some. They're all done except for a coat of varnish and some pigment work on the bases. They're not breathtaking but I think they're done up to an agreeable standard that I'm happy with and can produce relatively easily per model.

Bjorn Firewalker: Thank you!
Hungry Nostraman Lizard: Thanks! The terrain was made by some really cool dudes for our FLGS.

Imperialis Militia recon squad is all done and varnished up waiting for pigment like the rest. I went for a disruptive jagged pattern for the camo cloaks.

While it was a bit too humid to basecoat anything I managed to put some specialists on the bases. I've also been testing out different casting materials to make lots of Vostroyan bodies with a mould I made. The ones basecoated in Black are UV resin which didn't go as I expected, though where it succeeded it sets very firm, like any resin. The light ones were made with 'acrylic resin' from Greenstuffworld, and I've been quite happy with the results. Injecting them into the mould does away with awkward bubbles blocking detail and it sets to quite a hard, ceramic like finish. You can squeeze it without breaking but it is very brittle when bent. I think it will do nicely for what I have in mind.

I bet everyone reading this wants to see more marines killing marines instead of regular poor :censored:  infantry so I'll have to try and get my mojo back. :biggrin.:
Thanks for looking, cheers!

I tried green stuff worlds' blue stuff to make molds for  MY vostroyans, sadly, I might not have the ability to do it correctly, I keep getting poor moulds and casts. I'm using miliput, would you suggest the resin over the miliput?

Hungry Nostraman Lizard: I'd suggest anything over milliput. :biggrin.: While I've seen blue stuff used for moulds successfully and have done so myself for small bits if I want something done right and for the mould to last longer I make one from silicone. As for materials I'd go with resin as it's relatively easy to use if you plan your mould properly. As blue stuff softens with heat I wouldn't use it with vulcanizing resins.

Awesome work on the recon squad! The camo cloak’s pattern is nice and fits the militia scheme super well.

I’m also digging the model mold work you’ve got. They looks pretty darn good! And marines are great and I’ll never tire of seeing an update of them but seeing these vostroyan minis get new life is refreshing.

Bjorn Firewalker: Thank you!
hushrong: Cheers!

Spent some time working on the Rapier crewmen. I wanted to try and make a scheme that could fit any Legion (bar the ones that would detest a commendation from the Warmaster :tongue.: ) since I've got a third in the works and making 8 Legion specific machine operators for all of them is not something I have time or interest for, so I continued with the jagged campaign camo pattern. I was greatly inspired by some rogue trader era pics. Here they are prior to a coat of varnish, some Tamiya clear red for the lenses and finalising the bases with pigment.

C&C appreciated as always.

You are just knocking out that sweet camo! Another fun idea for crew could be blackshields too. Basically mercenary marines working with a traitor legion in exchange for supplies or something similar. Maybe some cool conversions to be had too but I don't think the paint jobs will be as exciting as the RT camo inspired ones you did.
