Vairocanum
Those Iron Hands are looking awesome! It's great that you can play with your family but a shame about the attitudes of your local gaming group. Out of curiosity how many of the primarchs do you have? Looking forward to seeing more! CrimsonCorvidae
Love your work, I'll be following. I know what you mean about painting being an outlet. I'm autistic, and I find it really helps me to focus when I'm either feeling down or over-stimulated. It can be difficult finding a group with the same gaming ethos and attitude as yourself. In one city I lived in the local GW had a really bad atmosphere with alpha-nerds and whatnot. My current local store is fantastic though! Back to the hobby - if you've painted Fulgrim, I'd love to see that. Magnus, Fulgrim and Sanguinius are my favourite Primarchs. Snook
And I totaly missed the point and did not answer... its 40k mostly and until we get rules for 8th that will remain so. Yep painting helps, but if its a very bad day (or week) I can hardly do anything. I would build those Death Guard and Primaris but it is not a good idea to have me near any sharp tools today. My gaming group was horrible. Asking for a beer and pretzel game without a tournament list was taken as an insult. One even accused me of being on a crusade... It was full of people without any sense of humor, or short germans! :D I realy hope there are some nice players in New Zealand, if we ever get there. I have painted Fulgrim but he will get some minor improvements... his hair. That could take a little while but I will place him on the to do list higher up. some more Death Guard: WIP Edited June 21, 2017 by Snook Thrillhouse and Vairocanum 2 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/334713-snooks-madness-part-ii/page/2/#findComment-4788624 Share on other sites
bloodhound23
Even more awesomeness. What's your trick for the flocking you use for the tall grass on your IH bases? Where do you get it and how do you get it to look so natural? Snook
Sorry for the late reply, i did not feel well the last few days. Those DG are looking great, Mortarion especially! Looking forward to seeing more squads and primarchs! Thanks, it is hot like hell and that slows things down a bit. Even more awesomeness. What's your trick for the flocking you use for the tall grass on your IH bases? Where do you get it and how do you get it to look so natural? That just the armypainter basing material. I did nothing more than simply gluing it on to the base ;) https://shop.thearmypainter.com/products.php?ProductGroupId=3 Oh hell yea dude. This is awesome. Top notch weathering skills. hushrong
Oh man! That last EC you posted, I have been wanting to make a guy like that. Bought the bits and everything just need to find that spark that makes me go BRAVO! There is definitely something about that helmet that I can't help but love. I am also grinding my teeth for some reason at looking at all this stuff you've got painted. I would definitely love to see a whole shot of your collection. It must be amazing to behold. As for gaming groups I hear yeah. I have s tight knit group I game with. There are times some of us go overboard but we always bounce back. I used to just build and paint because I would go to the hobby stores here and people were WAAC and for the longest time I just didn't bother gaming. Vairocanum
Great job on the guardsmen, using scout arms on them looks fantastic. And as hushrong mentioned, that last EC looks awesome! Thanks, but like I wrote, it is very hard for me to accept a compliment. I admit that he looks "better" then his first version. I could take some pictures of my collection, but they are stored in grey storage boxes. Placing all of them on one gaming table for example would be, by now, impossible. And thats just the HH and 40k stuff excluding my Battletech and WHFB/AoS Stuff. Not Counting the Games I own with just a few miniatures like Dystopian Wars, and Infinity. I realy, realy hope there are some nice players where ever we will end up in NZ. Oh besides, had my first two 8th Edition games and lost... my 7 year old daughter stomped me into the ground... two times with her Greenskins against my Tyranids. Great job on the guardsmen, using scout arms on them looks fantastic. And as hushrong mentioned, that last EC looks awesome! Looking forward to the next update! Thanks and 'ere we go! Snook
Well FW just killed my motivation... I will not paint (or buy) anything HH anymore till they update to 8th. Narf... just when my wife told me we should buy tons of minis before moving to NZ... Snook
Some minis that have been for to long on the painting table. Just minor repaints but it took some time to get me even a bit motivated. The next one will be a WIP Death Guard TSS. After that I will change my focus to 40k, possibly Skitarii and Cult Mechanicus... oh and Knights... if I ever can decide on how to paint them. Tyranids, Primaris and Drukari/Deldar need some basing and priming done. Genestealer Cult needs some units assembled. Absolutely not in the mood to paint my Tau.
