Airing an idea.

Chaos cult gang based on the cannibal mutants in Pandorum.

Yes or no?

As if you need to ask...But yea good idea.

Now I just have to find some suitable miniatures.

Might get some mileage out of AoS ghouls.

Went by the FLGS today and somehow ended up with a box of Cawdor.

No, I can't explain it either. Your guess is as good as mine.

Time for some bomb-throwing heretics fanatics.

Just like me yesterday I went by the FLGS and picked up a box of Dark Uprising that was sitting reserved for someone else, but the person changed their mind and I got 20% discount. I have no idea how it happened.

The Cawdor may be one of the most 40k things ever. I need to plan out a new leader for my Cawdor, my current one's good but doesn't fit the theme of my gang as much as he could (cargo-cultist Imperial Fist worshipers).

Yellow robes?

They've already got yellow robes, but currently the leader is the only one in the gang with the polearm-blunderbuss. To make them better fit the theme, I'm thinking a scrap-bolter and chainglaive, or something along those lines. Maybe a scavenged servo-harness and carapace armour to attempt to replicate the blessed power armour of the Imperial Fists.

got any pics of them?

My Cawdor won their first game. ZM, beat some Delaque so badly I tabled them through a combination of killing and fleeing. Overseer used on a Champion with a crossbow is hideously OP.

Yeah, I've seen a few places saying that Overseer should be toned down, at the very least. In fact one of the constant critiques I see of the game is the disparity in the utility of the skills, with some being auto-takes, and others being near-useless at best.

Some nice little buffs to Palanite Enforcers and Corpse Grinders in the FAQ that dropped the other day - trading post access!

With a loose caveat that allows a campaign arbitrator to nerf it at will - soft rule with a potential hard application feels like lazy rules making.

On the plus side, they did add Magnacles to the starting equipment for Enforcers and clarified that Restraint Protocols causes the enemy fighter to go out of action like a regular Coup de Grace.

This pleases me greatly, never liked Delaque since 1st ed so hearing Cawdor crushing them warms my cold dead heart.

I'll be chatting with the others about perhaps banning that skill. And I have a certain reputation when it comes to finding and showcasing OP stuff, so I might be able to convince them.

But yeah, the design team ought to have had a closer look at not just how the skills are set up, but who has access to what.

I killed their leader by causing him to fall into a bottomless pit. He failed his checks, and in he went.

Saw there was one Cawdor gang left in stock on the Goblin Gaming website and thought ':cuss it' I want that and I'm going to have it'. So yeah got me a Cawdor mob on the way

Gonna do one of those for the boxingday bash I think.

++EDIT++

So what's a good starting gang I can make with what comes in the Gang box?

So what's a good starting gang I can make with what comes in the Gang box?

Here's what I ran, using the champ/leader bodies to make 2 champs. It did require some conversion based on the bits, and eventually tore the converted axe-head from the Leader (I had used some bits from a spare polearm and the icon) and ran deep into my bits box for a new axe-head (I ended up using the power axe from the Chaos TDA lord, after removing anything chaos-looking).

Leader: stub, dum-dum, 2-handed axe, flak, Overseer

Champ: axe, heavy crossbow, flak, Parry

Champ: autogun polearm, incendiary charges, flak, Parry

Specialist: reclaimed autogun, incendiary charges, flak

Ganger x2: blunderbuss polearm, flak

Ganger x2: reclaimed autopistol, axe, flak, smoke grenades

Juve x2: reclaimed autopistol x2

They're still unpainted (I know, I know...), but I can try to get some pictures done (probably not before tomorrow) if you want.

EDIT: Your new avatar is very amusing. Sure you shouldn't do a Chaos Helot gang dedicated to you-know-who? ;)
