My friend and I just started Warhammer and played one of our first games.  I am building Black Templars and him Custodes.  He charged my EC with a captain on a bike not really knowing what it was and over confident in his armies defensive abilities.  While I didn't kill him, I sent him retreating from combat with 1 or 2 wound left on him and a confused look on my friends face.  I think I am going to like this army.

Around 17-19 years ago when I first started collecting 40k and destroying the models with massive amounts of paint, we played Poorhammer on the floor with my friends older brother as our guide (we had a hard time understanding all the rules at age 11, with english as second language).

The Emperor's Champion was feared among my group of friends, never losing a single duel against other HQ. His victims included Marneus Calgar, Captain Tycho, Ork warbosses and whatever the SoB and Tyranid had for HQ back then.

A while back I visited my old childhood friend and we decided to dig up all the old figures from the attic at his parents house. The Emperor's Champion had rested in stasis sleep since the last time he saw battle. I decided to bring the champion back to my Strike Cruiser and head for the fortress monastery.

After stripping the caked paint from the Armor of Faith and giving the equipment a paint job it deserves, the Emperor's Champion return at the front of my Crusade to burn the heretic, kill the mutant and purge the unclean!

Which model? The original Special Edition, or the current production model?

It's the current model, but pewter!

Was that model released with the 4th edition codex or earlier? I'm having trouble remembering at what age we started collecting...

I'm pretty sure it's about 18 years ago though. I remember we played using the 3rd edition rulebook.

Edit: It was 3rd edition, Codex: Armageddon!

Shame on me, I didn't played with him in my lastest matches. But my champion have a nice k/d ratio. Two hive tyrants in a single match (with some grimaldus and aphotecary help), ghazkull and a weirdboy, some Tau commands and tons of nameless xenos heroes

Mine Tied up a Chaos Imperial Knight for 2 turns because he refused to fail his 4+, seriously this guy rolled 11 saves on a 4+.

My opponent ended up charging in a 2nd knight to save the first one, which the EC had left on a single wound. I think my warlord ended up killing it with his bolter.

Probably could have killed both knights with the EC (2nd was damaged) but I forgot "honor the chapter" was a thing.

Mine killed an orc warboss on a bike and the next round shot a weirdboy's last wound down (he was the last one in the shooting phase and i didnt want to declare any charges because of a duell between marshal law and thraka)

wow... he is probably the hardest to kill... Was he already injured?

Ghaz took some wounds from a multi melta before the champion charged. I was very lucky with some invulnerable saves. Still took a round of combat and spending CP on 'Only in Death Does Duty End' the next turn to bring the beast down. Still lost that game, but the Champion's sacrifice prevented Ghaz rolling up my whole right flank and kept me in the game until the end.
