Reading it now. But I also couldn’t resist a quick look at the end.

Seems Guilliman commands Dante to rebuild Baal Prime and Secondus but to improve the living conditions for the people this time. He disapproves of keeping them in hell to provide better recruits.

It’s a big change that I’m in 2 minds about. On the one hand the moons were unique hell holes, arguably the worst places to live in the Imperium, that the Blood Angels come from such a place was something I enjoyed.

On the other hand with Dante’s massive increase in authority and responsibility the Baal system will need to be massively improved. I don’t think even the pre nid invasion Baal could enable Dante to do his new duties, it’ll need to be a mini Terra or Ultramar at least. Part of me is excited to see what the angels could build if allowed, it’ll be spectacular in me opinion, unlike anything else in the imperium. Or maybe I’m reading to much into one sentence, what does everyone else think

as a side note, i just downloaded the epub version from black library, not sure if its a mistake or not but it is purchasable now. if only i knew how to transfer it from epub to my ipad so i could have it portable instead of being on my pc

Interresting questions that would not spoil a lot/anything about the book :

- Name and Chapter of the five dead chapter master.

- Names of some previously unmentionned successors chapter.

- Name of the fleet-based chapters, if mentioned.

- Look/Color scheme of some less known successors.

As for the story in itself, i will be waiting for my physical copy. =)

On the spoiler side of thing :

Blood Angels Primaris free of the Red Thirst ? I believed that Cawl mentioned in Dark Imperium that he could do it, but didn't apply it to Primaris since the flaw (red thirst) was part of the Emperor work. As for the Black Rage, it is a psychic flaw, the echo of Sanguinius Death that resonated in all Blood Angels through the warp (space and time). "Correct me if my memory is wrong about those parts".

Also, No Black Rage = No Death Company...

You are correct. RG asked specifically about the BA and SW flaws and Cawl said he kept them or at least most of it thinking it was the Emperor's design.

Cawl also said that he fixed the more obvious flaws while keeping the legions specific quirks. It's a bit unclear what he exactly 'fixed' and what he left as is. For all we know the Red Thirst could come back any time possibly triggered by the Blood Angels blood drinking rituals or simply because it couldn't get surpressed forever. The Black Rage shouldn't be removed at all tho. Not as long as they still use the Blood Angel geneseed which links them directly with Sanguinius.

When the were talking about it in the new books they said that the Primaris Blood Angels had been fighting for over a century and when they were asked about the Red Thirst and the Black Rage had no idea what was being talked about.

Seth sounded incredibly angry because he knew they would eventually replace him and he didn't view them as being true Flesh Tearers because they didn't have the fury.

:censored: -yea, Seth!

So now fluff-wise Dante is even better (even more than a Chapter Master)? Bet his rules still suck.

Indeed, good for Seth; he knows what's up.

Primaris not suffering from either the Thirst or the Rage would be pathetic, it undermines so much of the character of Sanguinius various Sons. Hopefully it's just that the Primaris have different names for it or something.

My money is actually on Dante getting some Guilliman-lite rules. Maybe no primarch statline but possibly similar buffs in his aura.

That's the single thing that has me most excited, really. The Blood Angels are going to be front and center in the story now.

I keep expecting Fabius Bile to flip the kill switch and having the primaris marines show their true colors: agents of chaos! How did Fabius interject that evil into the primaris project? Well that's a 5 book series to be published starting 2018. ;)

Anyhow. Thanks for the spoilers. I'm not a fan of primaris, still. The most recent spoilers solidify that with me.

Thanks for the info so far all, couple of quick questions for my sanity...

Regarding fleshtearers:

Does Guilliman ARRIVE with primaris Fleshtearers?

When people say Seth is unhappy and doesn't believe they are true FT - is that because he is presented with some? and they don't appear to have the blackrage - would he grudgingly accept them?

are these Primaris battle tested?

I have been building a small Primaris Fleshtearers force and want them to exist - and not have to hear how it's technically incorrect!

The worries of every Marine player, except UM, in a nutshell.

I'm reading the spoiled info as G-man arrives with some Primaris of Sanguinius lineage. They don't seem to have heard of the Red Thirst or the Black Rage, which implies they don't suffer from either or something similar that they haven't named.

Consequently Seth thinks they will make very poor additions to the Flesh Tearers since they're driven by a fury fuelled by the Thirst

We already have fluff about Bile being surprised by seeing Primaris and setting the research of them as his new goal.

Not. Every. Marine. Player.

Just saying.

Seconded.

I feel much better about my primaris Fleshtearers having now read it for myself.

Phew... Grudgingly accepted however Seth believes Fleshtearers in name only. Plenty of room for the primaris to prove themselves. No one said it would be smooth sailing but it's good enough for me.

But yet no white light Intervention by the Lamenters :sad.:

Krash

Lamenters are better left alone.

It is a good thing that of all the successors, they are the one who weren't able to send reinforcements, because it totally fit their fluff.

Also, with their luck, they may be spare the Primaris reinforcement. (I can easily imagine the Lamenters discovering a lone Primaris apothecary with a few Primaris surviving whatever catastrophic events. Thus the Lamenters would slowly rebuild their chapter using the standard recruitement process, as well as "Primaris-ing" some older veteran thanks to the knowledge of the Primaris apothecary, though such process may not operate as well as it was meant to be, and as bad luck would work against them, they would still suffer from the Red Thirst/Black Rage, in a low rate/effect, but still be flawed.)

Unless something drastic happens, I'm with Seth.
