If that were true how would you best run it in a battalion detachment? 30+ pinks in a squad and then brimstone horrors to fill out the troop tax? If Brimestones are 6++ I feel like they are little more than paper weights.

Stop looking at them in a vacuum and think about their overall worth. Your opponent is going to have to deal with them one way or another, why not throw out some cheap, expendable units and tarpit your enemy or make them waste shots on them? They're probably going to be dirt cheap.

Nurglings are awesome for that. I've never had them kill more than a couple Termagants, but they tie up enemy units for a turn or two until your more potent units can swoop in and take care of the problem.

A little more:

Horrors cost the same. Same goes for flamers and screamers. Exalted flamers went up 20 (worth permanent 3 shots and 12" pistol flamers.
Plague drones drop 10 each.

Also, Burning Chariots are not characters.

:(

I hate learning cool things for the first time when they are removed.

Maybe I can get a game in before the codex drops...

"Horty" being Slimux:

Horty WS2. T6 7 wounds ( i think). 4A.. 4+
melee S+1 -3 D3 reroll fail wounds
1 time use attack S7 -4 3 dmg

D6 , 4+ D3 mw if you fallback from him (1inch bubble).

reroll fail charge for beasts in 6 inch. add 1 to hit for beasts.

start of turn, if any model friend or foe slain during last turn. 1 nurgle daemon model within 7 inch of mr snail gains 1 lost wound.

ends of movement phase, plant a tree but forgo daemonic ritual. set up within 3 inch of him but 1 inch away from any other model or terrain feature.

there are alot of small and obscure synergies with CSM and DG book, all daemon engines obliterators etc.

So, everyone is asking these important questions about all of the different pricing and units, etc. If you get the chance, can you answer about the Feculent Gnarlmaw. Do you think it's worth it to own from the rules standpoint? You don't have to tell me what it does, just curious if I should be pre-ordering it for more than just terrain.

Yes. 50 points only. but good for mono nurgle army.

Burning Chariots were characters before unless heralds on the chariot lost character which would be ridiculous.

No clue what's what, just copying and pasting.

Some more:

afaik slaanesh have no obvious changes.

Flesh hounds dont get scout/infil etc etc

Kairos no change cept points drop.

Blue Scibes

Xira'p's sorcerous barrage changed abit. Auto manifest 1 random power from Tzeentch discipline. If scribe syphoned any power, it automatically manifest smite instead

True true, time to finish those chariots. They are a dickens though, with all those spokes and spikes (for Slaanesh anyways). I'm also trying to finish up some custom Beasts of Slaanesh, just have the GS heads to work out and do some sanding. Ohhhh project weekend!

Well, my fellow Slaanesh devotees we got hosed.  I never use the Exalted Chariot anyway but I can't believe it actually cost more now.

Hmm, no model for Herald on Seeker... not surprised. Super lame, nonetheless, but can still be taken with the index version.

Edit:

Also:

Skull Cannon Heavy D6 48" S8 -2 D3

47 pt drop

Soul Grinder

Phlegm Bombardment D6 instead of D3.

Skull Cannons don't suck balls any more. :)

Nice to see a boon to Heralds in damage, though there goes my planned Seeker mount conversion. Re-rolling a charge is nice though, but probably not as nice as advance and charge - the Locus will be the difference.

Feels a little lacklustre but I suppose that without new models GW has little interest in putting too much effort in. I wonder if this means having to wait for the next codex for some more attention to be paid to Slaaneshi daemons?

More:

Great Unclean One

7" WS2+ BS3+

New nurgle herald. Spoilpox

5" 2+ 2+ S5 T5 4W 3A

6" pistol D3 3 AP0 1
Maw S user -1 1 reroll wounds of 1
PlagueSword S User AP0 1 , reroll all wounds roll

Ability 1 : Add 2" mov to plaguebearer infantry

Ability 2: Add 1 to hit roll of PBs within 6". On a hit roll of 7+ for a PB within 6" of a model with this ability, you can make one additional attack. Does not generate more.

It just doesn't make sense. They give us an an Advance and Charge Loci that probably tied to Heralds. But then take away the herald options that would allow Seekers and Chariots to use the Loci.  How does taking the index version work anyway? Do they miss out on the updated profile? Would they even have access to the Loci?

I have the feeling we'll be stuck with this for years to come...yeah.  We might get points drops later with CA 2018. But even if the rumored AOS Slaanesh battle tome brings a new KOS, Fiends, and who knows what else. Most of our units are still going to under powered compared to the other three gods.  Nurgle, Tzeentch and even Khorne all seem viable now in a mono-god list. I can't see Slaanesh being viable outside of as a supporting detachment for CSM. Even then outside of a EC themed list the other gods are much better options.  Sigh...

But the Seeker chariot actually comes with parts for the Herald. Its even mentioned in the instruction sheet.

Depends on how the codex/index line is drawn, but given the Herald can have no upgrades I think that means you have to take the index version in full here - so no new profile. Maybe a Daemon Prince is the other option to keep up, I wonder how the loci work? I assume it's tied to detachment, in which case CSM DPs can't have it but that means the Herald on Seeker might be in with a shot?

le sigh.

Ok, so then given that fully 50% of my Heralds are now unsupported by a Codex... do Index Heralds only get access to Index Psychic Powers et al?

If my Index Herald on Seeker Chariot is my Warlord, am I prohibited from taking a Warlord Trait from the Codex? Can an Index unit be given a Codex Relic?
