One question though, is Thorvald Hammerhand a Devastator Marine or an Assault Marine?

He is whatever he is needed to be, in this case, he was re-built as an Assualt Marine.

Updated my placeholder.

Found myself with time a lot earlier than I thought, so I'll be here all evening to clumsily navigate my way around any interactions members of Blackthorn wish to have in the training space.

I'm thinking about doing a scene with Chaka re-uniting with his wargear and training with it, particularly his Powersword Lightning Bolt, but I'd rather not do so alone. Anyone up for a scene, preferably someone from Swordhand?

so Ekieo is one of the Tac specialists in Blackthorn. He is a veteran of the Watch and im lost as to where to go from here. How is Blackthorn choosing its Sarg? Ekieo was a sergeant in his Chapter the Black Consuls. Im not putting him forward as such because it might be an interesting dynamic if he wasn't. Any Blackthorn Tacs want to interact or seasoned players want to give an idea?

Well, the first time we had to find one, we put it to a vote, Vaidan came out a head on that. For the second time, we just handed it off to Solastion since Vaidan was out of action and Solastion was acting as his 2IC.

Tyber is more inclined to go with a squad member he knows as the SGT, but will be open to options, depending on how the rest want to go.

Well to wang it all out onto the table, once Incariel has spoken to Pyke and gotten the measure of him, he then intends to put himself forward, though not to actually get the rank, mind you. In truth he's just looking "flush out" any marines who actually think they have a shot or want it. Him declaring forces the issue, makes hopefuls put on their best effort, and makes those who are content to serve step away from the edge of making a decision they don't want to. It's also similar to that thing where if you have a hard decision to make, they say you ought to do a coin flip? And while the coin is in the air, you already know what you really want to do because you are wishing for the coin to land on that result.

As much as he might desire to command a squad, ultimately Incariel knows he is in no shape to lead at the moment. But of course, the rest of Blackthorn doesn't know that, and will simply see a bold, forward Devastator who will then wisely defer to what Incariel believes to be the squad's actual chosen and rightful Sergeant.

Also, @Petragor, I'm looking forward to seeing Stabby Shocky in action!

Hey folks, updated my place holder, Lycus is now available in the Blackthorn training area, if anybody wants to get to know their new judge (I mean brother ;) ).

In terms of the Sergeant position, Lycus would be more than comfortable to act as the squad leader from a tactical position, but feels he lacks the particular "social graces" that might be expected/required of a Kill-team leader. That being said, if he believed that someone putting their name forward as leader to further their own ambitions he might make some kind of comment about them trying to "further their own goals instead of performing their Emperor given duty".

He is also WELL aware of how bad it would look if he tried to press the issue of him becoming Sergeant, considering Blackthorn's less than friendly feelings towards the Star Phantoms. (Not that it would stop him from pressing the point, if he felt it needed pressing).

Lycus is also a tactical, and a former Sergeant, but I have in no way built him (talent wise) as a people person. He is a killer first are foremost, as the Emperor intended, but he is not above stepping if he felt it was required.

I'm gunna wait and see how it develops, but I'm not expecting Lycus will get the nod. (Not that that's a problem of course :) )

I was thinking that Pallan may be drawn towards our Star Phantom comerade.  I intend for him to pick up on alot of the hostility towards Lycus at the Chapel and as he has his own self hate and thinks everyone has the same opinion of him he may seek out this new brother.  Perhaps even at the firing range.  The other brother he bond with is Argus, as like the Blood Ravens the Star Leopards don't know their primogentor.  Whilst most are told Dorn as an Apothecary Pallan is more knowledgeable on their... mixed heritage (Yay 13th Founding).

Otherwise if Mol could hit me up with a description of the empty at this point Apothecarion Pallan could instead go there. Either of these two could work with my next lead on from my two place holders.  Will hopefully fill them tomorrow or the next day.

As for whats next, Killteam Blackthorn, lets bring it...

Lycus is available in the Blackthorn training area, and he would likely appreciate some kind of intercation with an Astartes who doesn't already have an opinion about him without interacted with him.

Sorry for my absence my dudes I got admitted to hospital last night as I'm really struggling with the basic life function of breathing. Not sure what it is til after scan maybe a clot of covid pneumonia. I'll try catch up reading when I can.
Yeah my breathing was proper broken just bending over to pick something little up made me proper breathless for like 20mins. I'm doing alright now tho with the better O2 mask (the one that warms and makes it moist), having to lay on my front too which isn't super comfortable but can't really complain.

Helgrim has the requisite interpersonal skills to act as squad sergeant of Blackthorn, especially having served as one while still with the Doom Eagles. However, he likely would just as happily serve as second-in-command or advisor to whomever Kill-Team selects themselves. Unless I'm mistaken, I think the Watch-Captain wants him there first as a spiritual leader, and a line commander second.
