Xin:

Unfortunately, that doesn't really seem to fit with my interpretation of the 40k universe. Having a rampaging machine spirit take over your body and turn you into a hololithic dreadnought seems very sci-fi, but not very 40k. I also think that whether you are playing as a Dreadnought or I am playing as a Dreadnought, it's still the red team facing a dreadnought (and being frustrated/annoyed by it.) I don't particularly think they'd appreciate it.

Slips - please don't go back and get the heavy weapons! This will get drawn into another four or five turns whilst you go back and get them...The only reason I'm not having Vaidan call the exercise is that it devalues the effort both sides have put into trying to one-up one another...

Hahah thats why Im only giving Varvost the option to do so :p

I mean, he probably wont spring for it. Something about close combat over gunning enemies down.

Sadly we arent of the same chapter or I could use my Chapters Storm of Hell Squadmode to give us Furious Assault AND frenzy.

Though I already have frenzy and can activate it as a free action. Yay sanguinary priest!

Now what fun this had been if you had turned off the power while we were still upstairs ;)

Mol

No trouble! It's why I am checking in ahead. Guess I am getting a bit to much of all that inload/ exload IH vs Skitari thing from "Eye of Medusa". Along with that "Everything but the objective is meaningless" vibe....take it as a sign of me having a bit to much fun with this :)

So, I am sticking with the adopted plan - do I have to roll Tech Use or anything for salvaging a heavy stubber (or a powerfist if there is no heavy weapon available). BTW the servoarm does not seem to appear in the FAQ - so this works as in the rule Book?

Per Xin's post I have imposed a roll on the surviving red team members. I figure it is fair play after A.T. invoked outside assistance - but hopefully we can stop with this now and get on!

Please do make every effort to keep in mind what your character would or would not know in this circumstance, as people begin to post things that are not in spoilers.

To be fair - it was outside assistance to stop the other team running off again. Now we are just going to have to spend a couple of extra turns having Varvost ferry out squad leader to the door with his jump pack :p

Hi guys,

I debated whether or not to post this but I think it's important you know.

On Friday I found out that my fiancee has been diagnosed with breast cancer. There's still a huge amount up in the air (and a wedding that's still due to happen!) but it might mean that my availability is a little up and down at key times.

I intend to still keep this game running - if anything else, you might agree that there's some appeal in us rooting out a shadowy, insidious force that corrupts from within - but there's still a lot of unknowns.

I have to say a huge thank you to those of you keeping the game - and your brilliant characters - running! I am a huge fan of reading your posts.

CM, my best thought are with you and your Lady, hopefully this was caught early and can be dealt with through surgery and as little chemotherapy and radiation treatments as possible. My mom went through this 20/25 years ago and she bested it. But I will not lie, chemotherapy is not a pleasant experience for both you and her.

Mol,

I had no idea it was as serious as that when we chatted earlier - I stand by my message earlier even more so. Let this game be a source of enjoyment for you as you work through this.

The Emperor Protects!

My mother is also a survivor of breast cancer and it has touched our family many times.

I have liked your post Mol not for it's content, but it's courage.  It takes some rocks to post it up to the internet like that.  I can see the brothers have already stood, helms under their arms, awaiting your pleasure.  I join them.  We will tick things over here and do our best to help you tread across the Swordpoint Stars, destroying mightily the enemy.

Well, that is unpleasant news. And I am quite bit humbled by sharing this us.

I join our brothers in offering my best wishes to your fiancé and you in these difficult times.

Fingers crossed that this is going well. As the others said, this is no trivial matter but treatment and positive outcome has quite significantly increased over the years. It's small comfort but maybe there is already some little comfort in the fact that even in our little group, there are others whose families have faced and bested this challenge.

If I can join my brothers in helping you and your family in keeping the faith up and offer some much needed diversion in those troubled times ahead, I'll gladly add my humble work to this. We are the Emperor's Shield.

Hi Mol,

First off, apologies for not being very involved here lately. While no where near as grave a situation as you and your fiancée are in currently, I've been dealing with my own set of daemons which has been no small struggle and is still ongoing. My confidence in my writing has decreased which hasn't helped either. However I'll do my best to increase my activity in this story very soon.

Secondly, I am very sorry to hear about your fiancée's cancer. I wish you both all the best and her a speedy (and definitive) recovery. Sending positive vibes your way.

Thirdly, apologies to all the other players in this adventure for not being around much at all. You're doing a fine job and I look forward to reading more. :tu:

All the best,

Dos

Dos, feel free to dig through the spoilers on my side of things between Akkad and Tyber, though for the other side, perhaps you should see if MR is cool with it.

That being said, I wish you the best of luck in facing your daemons... perhaps contact chapter 666 for assistance?

I'm perfectly happy for anyone to read our narratives :)

I can only echo what Steel has said - absolutely anyone bar the roleplayers can read our stuff - I think we're just using the spoiler tags to try and reinforce the idea that we're keeping ourselves to ourselves and not having an effect in-game or otherwise that would break the immersion/character/meta.

Dos/Mol your inboxes are full - I can guess why - if you want to hit me up about anything my door is always open, does not matter what it is - that goes to the rest of our group naturally.

Shoulder-plate to shoulder-plate we face the mutant, the heretic, the daemon.  Back to back we will defeat them.

MR.

For GM/Red Team

I take it that the distraction wasn't enough to prevent Atratus from taking his move action - putting him at the door?

If i've got my turn orders right Varvost will be spending this new turn carrying Solaston to the door, Solaston will kick off squad mode, and Atratus will skip his turn entirely to act at the same time as Varvost next turn
