Damn, i'm really torn on several warlord traits or the daemonspark from the daemons codex...

+1 to casting and  is SO good, but re-rolling 1s to wound in shooting for any daemon units within 9" is also really good, as those exalted flamers become very reliable and horrors/flamers do even more damage (especially with the buff from mutalith)...

Don't forget Forgefiends, especially with Flickering Flames.

Thats a fun idea regarding the helbrute

Couple of major points I find *VERY* annoying:

Exalted are stuck to force staves? dick move by GW.

Another is Rubrics forcing 10 for the soul reaper? dick move GW

Scarab Occult are fine now, even with both gear for weapons were looking at 230 I think it was for the 5 with reaper and hellfyre. most termie squads are in this range, and we have a free accompanying sorcerer so its w/e in the end. they are decent terminators for what they are, but suffer from....well being Terminators in 8th, none are particularly good in serious metas regardless of which type.

I usually take big squads of rubrics, but the "forcing 10 for reaper" is stupid and unfair compared to CSM version.

No Rubric or Scarab Specific Strategems? What the hell GW. we are literally the *ONLY* units in the game that I am aware of that dont have a unique strategem beyond the generic (but great admittedly) VOTLW for our FACTION SPECIFIC ELITE UNITS.  thats a dick move by GW, completely unfair when tzaangors got one anywho, couldnt do one for "all is dust" models?

I will definitely take sorcerers, terminator ones are great with the free +1 each time they cast, Exalted I think overall are phenomenal now. for the 121 (140 on disc + a gun cost) for what they bring they are great, toss a relic on em and go to town. they have a reason to not be the bastard middle child, are (on foot) 60 points shy of a daemon prince,  and taken in addition to Ahriman can be somewhere else while Ahriman flys off and does his thing, and thanks to the wonderful walord chart can have much of the same casting potential as Ahriman.

Over alI *Definitely* see potential, but theres several design choices that are...shall we say Odd? Unfair? and some downright STUPID. (inferno for 1 cp before game effects a SINGLE GUN *RAW* not the whole vehicle.....stupid design choice)

i guess they think that the flare stratagem is a specific enough -_-  But i mean, our aspiring sorcerers are really good now. Being able to fill pretty much any role you need, especially by swapping their smite with any power from any of the three disciplines with the chaos familiar :D

I think i'll always take my daemon prince now. 180 pts still for the amount of buffs he got is crazy..

He is awesome.

Another thing regarding characters....you can actually rock an "Order of Ruin" Exalted, walking him around behind your tanks and healing them with Temporal Manipulation plus handing out "reroll 1's" while he farms command points with the Helm. All you need are an Exalted, some Techmarine bits, and some orange paint. ;)

EDIT: Or you could run Ignis as a Termie Sorcerer with Credence as a Helbrute with Inferno bolts. No reroll 1's, but a psychic bonus at least.

Well said Son.

I can see some competitive pieces with the cheap S5 auto-wounding bows that may be able to work. Using these is going to be essential to control the board and eliminate high priority targets.

That said, it's really shocking to me that this is so off base to the communities desires. It's like Rubric marines were literally redacted from the TS. No stratagems for Rubrics, SO, Inferno Bolters, Warpflamers, or All is Dust. It's like Magnus, Ahriman, and a couple sorcerers decided to let the automatons sit around and collect dust while using goats as errand boys.

The inferno stratagem should include all bolter weapons on a vehicle. If you put it on a predator with 2 heavy bolters only one gets it? Etc.

Otherwise I'm really enjoying what I see. I see a lot of potential, but you certainly have to be willing to run GW's vision of TS which is beastman heavy. I'm fine with it. I have 40 Tzaangors, the Shaman and Enlightened with plans for more enlightened to come.

I'm thinking maybe a brigade of Tzaangors and sorcerers to get the coveted 12 CP a game.

Helm of the third eye. Most definitely will take. Winter SEO said that the healing power works on vehicles so with my models I have now 1 dread, 2 predators with a sorcerer with a screen of Tzaangors. Not as dependable as a warpsmith but it will do its job. Maybe the sorcerer in Termi armor for the plus one the first power.

hmm, I am struggling to include all the synergies in a single list that has enough command points and/or psykers to use everything... Also, in an infantry heavy list, mutalith will be dead very fast, unless there is a bigger threat than it...

I think I am v tempted to run Magnus with Bolt of Change and doombolt so he can burn characters and units with 2d3 + firestorm or gaze with mortal wounds a phase. Then use newly souped up demon princes to buff him with weaver/warptime/glamour at extended range.

One thing i dont understand and the guys over at table top tactics made a good point of it. If you can take combi-bolters on vehicles why not inferno combi bolters. You are already going to pay extra points for the different gun and no one is going to use the stratagem on a single combi bolter.

All is dust still give +1 to invul, or just armour now ?

What is so exciting about enlightened disk goats, all they have is a 5+ invul, 2 wounds. They seem like they would get shredded apart by most things. Even their offense is just STR 5, -1 ap, 1 dmg. Are they just so cheap you can spam them ?

Ex Sorcs losing Force Swords - 7th ed

10/1 Rubrics for Soul Reaper- 7th ed

We really haven't lost anything, just got what we originally had. Though I had classically ran the fluffy 9 man squads (and would stick Ahriman or a Sorc in a Rhino with them pre-Traitor Legions) so this isn't a big deal.

Could I be disappointed with no Rubric strategem sure...

Fluff-wise, aside from characters or Cults what new units could we get? Even the Ahriman novels didnt have Scarab Occult Rubrics....So they had to flesh out with minions.

A little sad to see the reroll invuls go away, but happier to have the reroll 1s to hit cuz I've never liked running DPs (unfluffy imho).

I see less reason to take Magnus now, he's too over costed; yes a better force multiplier now but we get more with less.

Only thing I will be adding is a Shaman for my herd (personally I must have more rubrics than goats and quantity in numbers and buff ability has caused me to run a batch of 20.

DiscoBoGoats are not anything we needed, another anti infantry unit...sure auto wounds are nice but I expect that to limited to 6 on the die and not rolls of 6+, typical GW rules writing. Spear goats maybe for the 2 damage....maybe.

We still have one of the most durable troops in rubrics, we now have nonRhino mobility options with the Crystal and We beat strat, all in a a win.
