Lucifer216
I'm proud to present my (mildly) bee-themed collection of painted Mechanicus and Mechanicum models, along with two Imperial Knight Households, House Nestis and House Temporis. If after looking at my models, you're interested in knowing more about their background, you can find it via the following links:Forgeworld Bezoa House TemporisHouse Nestis Legio Kerberos Gnosis Prime (for more information on the homeworld of both House Nestis and the Legio Kerberos, Forgeworld Janus) Let's start with the Skitarii Edited March 1, 2018 by Lucifer216 Bob Hunk, apologist, Bjorn Firewalker and 1 other 4 Back to top

Pearson73
That's a really nice yellow, the checks on the titan and knights are neatly done too.
Lucifer216
Cheers guys and thank you for the kind words. I'm not going to have any painting time until next weekend, but I have a Thantar that's almost finished and I've also been working on some Wargames Exclusive miniatures (the tasteful versions of the tech-priest and heavy servitors) as well two Castellex and some Myrmidons. The Thantar is a model that I have mixed feelings about - I got taken in by someone on eBay who sold it without mentioning that fact. It took a lot of work to repair and turned up without the best part of one arm, so I've given it tentacles instead... The entire army is assembled and airbrushed yellow so I'm hopeful that you'll see some rapid progress (unless my punishing workload gets in the way). Bob Hunk
Excellent work Lucifer216 - such a striking colour scheme!
Lucifer216
Cheers – I'm very pleased to be tackling yellow with an airbrush, I don't know how you and GrahamGilchrist had the patience to do it the hard way. Here's some heavy battle servitors – they're resin sculpts from Wargames Exclusive. I was really impressed with their quality, extremely little flash and mould lines. Bjorn Firewalker
Good job. Wargame Exclusive's models remind me of the Strogg, from the 'Quake' games; I wonder if that's intentional?
Lucifer216
I don't know but it would make sense – one of the things that I find attractive about the Mechanicus is the amount of body-horror and inhumanity it offers despite being an Imperial faction. Having them as nominal 'good-guys' really highlights the darkness of the setting. While finishing off my Thanatar, I was a bit stuck as I wanted to add some freehand details but nothing seemed appropriate. In the end, I plumped for Japanese script (or characters that look like it), which I think has turned out well. It also means that if I get to fight some Tyranids with my army, there'll be a bit of a Pacific Rim/Godzilla vibe. Here's the finished chap – code name "Monster Killer" - It's (hopefully) written in Japanese – I used Google Translate – on the shoulderpad above his mecha-tentacles. The other larger shoulder pad was supposed to say "The Machine is God. God is the Machine" (a line out of the excellent Dark Compliance audio book), but I ran out of room (writing from right to left takes some getting used to and I should have tried a dry run with the brush first). Bjorn Firewalker
I'm impressed with the amount of effort you put into the Monster Killer. FYI, 'Pacific Rim' mistranslated the term "Kaiju"- it actually means "strange/unusual beast", not "giant beast".
Lucifer216
Duly noted! It's been a while but I've finally had some decent hobby time – my wife and I have been well and truly blessed by Grandfather Nurgle, so there's not much to do other than sit and paint in the evenings/weekends. Here are my Myrmidons. While they're great models, the sheer amount of detail on them meant that finishing them was a bit of a struggle. And here's Magos Apianna Krol, Captain of the Deus Creatio I've also finished two Castellax – but I'll wait until there's daylight before I take some pics of them. In the painting queue at the moment are 10 rangers, 10 fulgurite electro priests, another Vultarax Stratos-automata and 5 Ruststalkers.
