I like those bases, where are they from? I’m looking for some starship deck plating type bases for an Inquisitorial warband I’m planning.

They’re not bought, though. I make them myself with thick card, wire...the grating is from a hardware store (used for gardening. It’s crappy cheap plastic but takes paint if the base coat is sprayed on) and bits (bolts, grills) from bits-makers here in Japan. I must do a thread about them sometime as likely they’re available online.

A tutorial would greatly appreciated, they look amazing. I assumed they were resin! Great work Kierdale.

Vow Update!

 

I have manged to finish the first Crusader Squad. I really enjoyed painting these guys, I am so used to just building and painting choppy crusader squads that it was a nice to do some other equipment. Now my Templars can start to purge xenos both at range and face to face :)

 

1/4 of my overall vow is complete.

Progress...

So...I'm getting close to finishing most of the construction. I say most because after I paint all the components, there will be a fair amount of post-painting construction, which I really don't like, but sometimes it's the only way to paint something correctly.

Some of the resin bits....

The story behind the plastic stripping is, while I was scraping the <curlicue iron work things> off of the front of the shield, I cut a little too deeply into the resin. Putting a center lined bracing bar in the middle seems like the easiest fix.

And here are the Templar shoulder pads. I like how they look on the shoulders.

Just thought I'd share some progress. I've got one of the Captains done with the Combi-plasma and Thunderhammer, a Razorback with Twin Lascannon and 2 x Honour Guard, just started on the Apothecary base white and red last night. Not settled on a base yet for these yet or even my whole army yet. I'm thinking on a cracked mars/type base maybe. Some pics:
