THey are teasing orks  and wolf players at this point.

Kill Team Starter Sets are the perfect way to get stuck in with a new kill team, each featuring specially selected models, new rules, custom tokens and terrain to bolster your collection, all at a lower price than picking up the contents separately. Each can be used as a pre-made kill team in its own right, or as a starting point for one of your own making, featuring unique faction tactics cards you won’t find anywhere else. Let’s take a look inside the Krogskull’s Boyz set.

In short, each set will enhance every part of your Kill Team experience and is a must-have if you’re looking to play a particular faction. At launch, you’ll be able to pick up Krogskulls Boyz, as well as The Fangs of Ulfrich, a Space Wolves kill team that’s a great starting point for ANY Adeptus Astartes player. There are more Starter Sets on the way, each featuring even more terrain, models and unique Tactics, so keep your eyes peeled…

KillTeamLaunch-July5-SMStarter2kt.jpg     You’ll also be able to match your dice to your warband with a range of specially designed dice sets, featuring unique colours and iconography. Each set features six D6s and two D10s for your games.

"Kill Team, the game you've been waiting for!". No GW. The only thing I'm waiting for is to be able to play my army I have invested thousands of dollars, hundreds of hours, and my soul into.

I'll expand to this, I don't know if any of the shops up here will really care about this. I have 4 shops in 30 mins, only one plays Shadespire, none play Necromunda, favoring only 40k and AOS. I'd like for any of these to be more popular, but this early into a new 40k and now a brand new AOS, no one has time or interest yet in alternatives. Though I am doing everything I can to make Shadespire happen at least.

Looks good. Any news is good news. I'll probably pick up a box depending on price and what you get. If they're full sprues of Reivers but with a bit of Space Wolf flair then I'm definitely in.

On a side note, GW is definitely just throwing us and the Ork players a bone, an already cleanly picked over bone at that!

Give us meat GW! Where's our codex!!!

I really enjoy the idea of Killteam, and if I have the money I'll grab this. The models seem nice, the terrain too, like the dice and have an interest in the game. And since we knew this was coming I don't consider it a tease, but a nice surprise to see something while we wait

so pre order  for Kill team

July 21

Looking at everything there is to preorder, im going to assume Kill team is going to take up 2 weekends minimum for preordering

so July 21 main starter set, accessories, and July 28th get started kits, cases

we know Adeptus Titanicus is in August, so I'll say a preorder date of

August 25

If wolves are coming in august, thats only  2 week window realistically

augusts 11, or 18.

But I think AoS will be between these 40k/specialist game dates. =/

then Killteam: rogue trader I will guess is Dec 8 preorder

The models don't look to be new as such. Looks like all parts that are already available.

It looks like Burna Boys and Reivers.

Not a critisism, just an observation. I'm an Ork and Space Wolf player so am eagerly awaiting first pics of new models.

Yeah, it doesn't even look like we'll get enough to build out a squad of anything for 40k. Zoom in and it's two Reivers and 2 Intercessors, and a leader model.

its actually just a 5 man squad of reviers.

3 have the blade and auto bolt pistol

2 have the bolt carbine.

( I would love if space wolf reivers can ignore the "absolute" loadout rules)

Gotya, good call. I haven't bought Reivers yet since I've been waiting for the Dex. I didn't see the little wing tips on the power packs, so I thought they weren't Reivers.

Yup, it's just the current 5 man Reiver box that noone is buying cause it's a terrible value.

Thinking about it what I find worrisome is that is seems like the Vlka Fenryka seems to be just integrated into de Adeptus Astartes. I would like to have for example a young Blood Claw Pack Leader combat specialist that needa to be tempered and is picked so he doesn't just kill his Pack reclessly. And I want the rules to reflect he is a Blood Claw, with those berserker charges and not having to play him as a Tactical with a chainsword. I hope I am.wrong

Depending on what they charge for this it could be a good deal, I will pick up the dice no matter what though :biggrin.: . Hopefully it gives us an ideal of what to expect from our codex (or even a preview/date of when to expect one)

edit: I do like these kits as starter products if the terrain and models are set at a reasonable price it would be one of the kits I recommend to new players.

This is just wrong. GW knows SW and Ork players have been waiting over a year for our codex and instead of giving us what we need they rub salt in the wound with this rubbish. No one cares about specialty games especially when their own army codex still has not been released a year after 8th edition release.

I get that your frustrated, and I'll admit I am as well (granted I have several armies which helps not sure if that is the case for you). That said I don't think that GW did this rub salt in a wound, they're leading off a new system with wolves getting one of the first expansions. Not Ultras, Not DA, Not BA, but wolves

I stopped being frustrated last Dec. I am in full blown angry mode over this. We have waited so long to get our codex and instead of that we get some specialty game crap that 99% of players in local meta will not even bother with. It is like your car being in a serious auto accident and the mechanic waits over a year to fix it and he rings you up to tell you good news, I replaced the air freshener on your rear window but the car still isn't ready.

I like the idea of kill team, but I'm a little nervous that the starter is only primaris. If there aren't rules for using regular space marines I won't be playing kill team.

they mention regular marines in the main article, saying how you can have 2 reivers, 2 inceptors, a tactical with a missle launcher and scouts and such

in general, I am now in this mindset.

THere is a reason, Orks and Space wolves have been delayed so long.

That mindset is, both dexs should be mega hits and drive sales, not just codex sales but models.

If all space wolves and orks get is a codex, a LE codex and dice, I would be astounded and upset when they finally release it.

But i do  not suspect that to be the case.

I suspect Orks will get Prime ork beast ghaz, a limited line refresh, some new entries

I suspect spacewolves to get a unique primaris unit (cqc melee), I suspect we'll get a primaris character, a new ragnar, and russ.

I fully get where all of those that are mad are coming from. It's like GW said that they would get all Codex books out before the one year anniversary of 8th, and then failed to do so.

Oh well; I just guess it's still hurry up and wait. It's like that phrase exists for a reason.

At the very least, if Wolves and Orks are starting to enter the pipeline, with How To Paint videos, "Feature" entries in other GW products, and what not, the SW's should be entering the hint, warhammer community, pre-order and eventual release schedule soon enough. Again though, trust me, I get that the waiting hurts. The problem is, per GW's usual modus operandi, it just seems odd that we will likely be one of the better Codex armies as the Wolves book is so late in the release cycle.

One final note: I had a friend show me Tuesday night that in the Thousand Sons book, one of the pictures shows Space Wolves Hellblasters painted up and looking rather nice. It's not huge, but it does seem to show that odds are good the Wolves will get at least one Primaris unit. The problem as always is, what other Primaris shall we end up with, and to what end?

As it is, food for thought. And, patience, while apparently misplaced at this point, appears to be still warranted, at least for right now. Our book should* be out by the end of the year, hopefully before mid-August.

*Should, as in, I'm guessing; still, I would like to be right. Sheesh, all this waiting is getting... trying, on the soul.

im starting to doubt the august release for them, we know adeptus titanicus is also in august, but seeing the sheer amount of stuff they announced for killteam I will be surprised if all of that is available on the 21, I expect killteam to be 21 and 28 for all the preorders.

that leaves 2-3 weeks before I think titanicus lanuches which I think we can preorder august 25

I also have to add, and this speaks not for myself but many others, I have zero interest in Primaris marines. I will never field them in my SW army. If we all get is a codex and some Primaris models then all this wait will literally have been for nothing since they could have simply released that months in the past.
