Guest
I think the really galling thing about this, is that it confines SW to Primaris only if you want to play kill team with 'actual' Space Wolves. At least SWs can take those units, unlike Scouts and Tacticals. Whereas the 2 Angel dexes actually use the same troop types as the Kill Team rules, so that seems less egregious imo. Well the 40k official FB page said to substitute GH for tact and wolf scouts for scouts. However why did DG and 1ksons get their own army while SW didn't. I hate to be "that conspiracy guy" but I honestly think it was to sell more Primaris. I am not a "I'll never buy Primaris", in fact I am busy converting them. However I can't help but get this feeling of this is another ploy to sell Primaris. However I am pretty tired and can't piece it together, yay for backpain keeping me awake. Maybe it's the fact that we are limited to 2 Primaris and 2 normal troops and the SW box contained only Primaris. Meanwhile the other army get their original models. M.Redbeard
Well, Kill Team has dissapointed me in the Space Wolves front even more. Seeing Winters SEO video there is no way to play our troops close to what we have. For example, only Sargents can take Chainswords, with no way to add them to normal troops. So no Grey Hunters with Chainswords or Wolf Scouts. The Zaelot specialisation which would allow us to maybe recreate a Blood Claw. Scouts cam't take the Veteran, so no rules to support them as elites rather than neophites. No equipment like Storm Shields or Frost Weapons to set a WGPL and can't take a melee and combi, which is a bummer for me as even a combi-melta and Power Sword would at least be fun. The most accurate way of probably playing our troops would be a Scout Sargent, Tactical Sargent, Heavy Weapon on the Scout, Special Weapon on a Tactical Gunner and probably Reivers and Intercessors to fill up the rest. That way you can at least have a couple of chainswords to represent the Grey Hunters/Wolf Squad, will avoid a non-"veteran" to have a Heavy Weapon (although it rules out Plasma Cannons and Lascannons...), can avoid grav-weapons amd Intercessors and Reivers are alreayd a bit generic so they can fit. Maybe play a Sniper Heavy Weapon Tactical to represent a Long Fang. But it really looks that we will have to go out of our way to play our troops. Really sad. I was actually looking fowards to Kill Team with a Pack of our troops, but nothing special for us and having to go out of the way to just try play pur faction really lowers my emotion. Might get it after trying a few games but this is not really good. Here’s hoping we get some kind of faction expansion to include all of the missing factions. I think if there was a conspiracy to sell more Primaris it probably would've started with making more than just Hellblasters good. Here’s hoping we get some kind of faction expansion to include all of the missing factions.Indeed for other Factions Kill Team spunds really good. Deathwatch of course, Nyds I'd say are pretty fun too, T'au will probably be great, even Grey Knights have a good advantage. I'd say this game had the idea of moving from Astartes in general. Which other factions might enjoy, but DA, BA, WS, RG, BT and especially SW miss out of a lot of flavour of our factions, and in general SM melee seems to be lacking representation. Aside from names an Ultra vanilla team might be exactly the same as a team from the Rout, and even trying to play our way requires extra effort. I believe it is a well crafted system from what I've seen, but after months without a codex, no word still on release, no rumors and even when shown on a new system we get nothing new and get relegated to play vanilla Marines... I feel it a missed opportunity. SW are even more tight knit groups, and I'd say we tend to be more elite than other SM factions and a story of a pack hunting behind enemy lines fits us, but we get nothing interesting. Well, we'll have to wait amd see if we get any expansions.
