Kill Team Tactica - Adeptus Mechanicus

I've managed to buy a Skitarrii kill team, unbuild, for realtively cheap.

It's the gamma 888 whatever box.

 

At the moment I play mostly (only..?) against my son's Nurgle marines and poxwalkers (first strike box). We added some cultists. It's a bit of a mix from 40K and kill-team, to keep things interesting/simple. So small board, footsoldiers, small units.

 

What would be a good list to use against the Nurgles? I want a decent game out of this, not a one-sided walk over. He's killing my marines with his "lucky fist" powerfist champion though. That 2A T5 and 3+/5+ save _abomination_ is killing (me, not him).

I dont mind that he wins a LOT of his games, I just want to add some more variety playing against him. And ok, maybe give muself a decent chance.  ...LOL!

 

I've build a small 6 death guard marine list for him too, when I've finished painting them I'll figure a way to post them here. I used to use Photobucket but hey...

So what is the standard replacement for PB these days?

I have my fist game wih a new Killteam tonight - does anyone have any advice on which models to promote to Specialists? I feel a little spoilt for choice

In the end, "the plan woiked poifeckly" against a Scout squad supported by a Space Marine Gunner. The Sniper and Heavy with arquebuses set up a real ranged threat, the Arc rifle forced plenty of armour saves, and the Sicarian Combat specialist slaughtered its way through 40% of the enemy warband by itself. My favourite kill was the Space Marine Gunner, who broke cover just long enough to take a transuranic round to the face.

 

XP all round, and blessed start to our campaign. Blessed by the Omnissiah, that is!
