PBB's Tyranids and GSC // Tyranid Heirophant

Ok, so I guess I'm starting a thread for my Tyranids now. I'm desperate for feedback for a project with a time limit. I've decided to take part in a competition on Twitter that has a prize... trouble is that i'm starting late, I only have 5 more days to do it.

The Brief is that it has to be a Duel between two models, on any size base. I've decided to do Genestealer vs Ultramarine.



and it has to be be from scratch, specifically for this competition, i started last night and i probably have about 10 more hours working time.

this is what i have so far...





im going to have the marine blasting its brains out just after his arm was lopped off. his arm will also be included.


please help me!

Pull out nose hairs. Apply a little superglue to each hair. It will form beads. Add more glue for bigger beads.

You now have spurts of blood.

Good for his severed arm and the xenos’ blow out brains.

Remember: apply the superglue after removing the hairs from one’s nose.

Thanks Kierdale. I haven't used any of my nose hairs... yet. but I have used some wire and some tooth brush bristles because the bristles were a bit easier to control... and even they were a bit of a pain. I might still add the nose hairs but I don't know if I can afford the time (to justify nose pain). I will definitely bare that in mind for projects where I have a bit more time though. This is what it looks like so far...

What do we think... does it look ok?

Will the bristles take paint okay? That’s my only concern.

I used bristles on my Norris Possessed, and did blobs of nurgles rot and i had quite a lot of control.

Man... I haven't been on Bolter for weeks, seems weird. Anyway... I won the competition! got over £120 worth of models for my efforts which is nice. These are the pics I handed in.

Thanks guys! Im not sure whe this Tyranid threat will be active again but i do have a half converted Tyrannofex id love some input on when i get around to it. For now i need to get on with something a bit more khornate...

Thanks Augustus! Im going to try and tidy up the paintwork ready to give it to my friend for Christmas. Im happy with it as it is but after taking these photos I noticed that I could improve on the highlights of both models... that is if I have time while working on the Khorne stuff. Anyway, I'm really pleased you like it.

Thanke very much, i did a full write up on the blog abouut it. I did think about the movement a lot. Its not perfect, theres a couple of things i would change if i did it again but im happy with it. The blood trail was tricky, deciding hoe much to keep it on that one plane and look both dynamic an natural.

Ok Its been a while since I posted in this thread... or in my other thread to be honest but its good to get something on here again. I just through I would share some pics of my Toxicrene that I had for christmas (2017) last year and just finished in January. After this I "just" have two more Tyranids to finish...

Anyway I hope you guys like what I did with this and hopefully I will have another model to add to this in february, if I remember I'll take a photo of the state its in at the moment and post that too.

Ok, wow... I have been dead to Bolter for some time! I finished my Aberrants but then had to get stuck into something else straight away which I will also be uploading soon. I Hadnt realised I never put these on Bolter so I'll just get this done first. Theres a write up on them here.

Hmmm... I'm not sure why the images are so small... I uploaded them the same way as I used to. I'll have to have a think. Anyway, there are better pictures on the Blog if you want to see them any more clearly than that. Hopefully get some pics up of my Golden Demon entry soon too...
