No updates worth showing off at the moment I am sad to say! I blew out my lower back last week so I was stuck in bed for most of it and the weekend. Sitting in my chair and trying to hobby was a casualty of that unfortunately.

I will have something soon though my pretties. Soon!

--

@Sons of Carnelian: Thank you, Frater! Definitely happy they have that look! Transhuman dread is terrifying but I can scarcely imagine how much more it would be if a terminator(film)-esque marine phased into reality amongst his targets.

@Bjorn: If any primarch deserves to transform into a gun it's Perturabo!:biggrin.:

@Grieux: Thank you! I have been beyond happy that it's actually be working out. I don't think I would have been able to do this without Primaris armor.

@Soulhunter: I would love to see that! With all the cool TS bits out now a DH TS would be phenomenal. It wouldn't hurt to try it for a small kill team

@Sanguinus: I second this!

@Pearson: Thanks, I think I will do one more guy like Fahn. I'm still seesawing on the look but I am liking it more and more. I need to get away from making marines with some necron bits and delve deeper into new heretical things. And I really wish I had one of those epic terminators to copy IP but this will do for now. Maybe if I make a deathmark comm specialist I can try again.

@Greenz: Thank you, bud! I need to brush up on the lore too but the IH and the BA had the most jaw dropping changes I remember. I just went with the IH as I just love the idea of a fusion of astartes and Necron. DH BA are very tempting and I do have a box of unused plague marines siting around.:whistling:

I do feel you on the legs. It hasn't really bothered me but I would like to bulk them out. I had been thinking of removing the lower calf of the necron legs and adding bigger cylinders in their place. They would then go into a balljoint connected to the foot. Right now I am sticking with the basic necron leg  as I don't want to slow myself down with more conversions with my already slow pace haha. I may try to add some plating like it did to the comms specialist (its his leg in mid strut so its hard to see).

@Vairocanum: Thank you, frater! Hopefully new stuff will be on the horizon as I need to get my butt in gear :smile.:

As always folks thanks for stopping by!

First up: loving the IH. 30k, 40k or othrwise, they are may favourite legion hands down (no pun intended). The Dornian Heresy version of them is really cool and I think your conversions fit it perfectly. Its been ages since I read up on any of it but I seem to remember a description of Ferrus as some kind of centaur or something. I'd love to see what you do with that.

Second. golly! A DH Kill Team! Great idea. Putting in my bid now for this to be the next Cinversion Challange!Quick, find me a Mod who can make this a thing!

Cool concepts behind this new pet project of yours. Don't think I have seen much Necron used at all, so pretty original idea n fits great with the IH.

I do think that idea of bulking up the legs would make the minis even more badass. I bet they would fit great with the IH conversion legs GW have. The bionic ones. I bought them ages ago just on the cool factor.

Great stuff mate, can't wait to see what you update next. Hope you're feeling better mate.

The time has come, my sons, to show the galaxy our true colors.

Out of the shadows and into the light.

Alright, alright, alright folks. In my hiatus my poor DH Iron Hands have sat. This was a project I had great enthusiasm and ambition for (it seriously dropped my interest in Titanicus to nil so I have a grandmaster box just sitting around) but when my hobby mojo died my team suffered. I am not playing GW's Kill Team at the moment but I do want to get back to work knocking this team out. Maybe even make them into a Heralds of Ruin team like I've done for my Black Legion and Alpha Legion if it comes to that.

So to start I have my PIP up above. He still has a way to go but I think I've got the idea of paint scheme down. There are more paints, washes, and highlights to come. Right now I am debating on what I paint the gun. These fellas will be primarily black so that color is out of the question. I am debating if I should go with a primarily white paintjob for the weapon or do a dark color like incubi darkness.

I am also wondering what I should do for the eyes. The fella above has his eye lense, targeter, The thing in his chest like Tony Stark, and the hologram from his arm. I am basically debating between blue like I see for Iron Hands or Green for Necron. I am really feeling green to show how much more alien they've become in their hiding. However, I did find this artwork and I love the turquois-ish color and think it would also be a good medium. I also hope whichever color I go with break up the monotone of black and silver. It's tempting to do this color but I'll have to test it out and see. Plus i need to practice OSL. I also love how it is glowing between the ribs so I'll be doing that. Anyways, I hope to get more desk time to keep painting this immortal up.

Another thing I had done was change up my flayed ones armaments, literally.

If you look at earlier pictures of this fella I gave him this weird bladed weapon I made kitbashing some parts together. For the longest time it has bothered me. So I ordered some AM Sicarian arms with these spindle-needle finger hands...only to realize they were right hands. So I made some mods to make it into a left arm for this guy. It is weird and creepy but I like that he has a 'flayed hand' now. I may add a mk4 elbow to this but I think this guy is ready for some primer.

And I actually realized I built this guy below before my hiatus. So three more to go and maaayybeeee I'll make the cryptek that I've had in mind for a long time. And maybe a Heralds Kill Team :ph34r.:

*I'm sorry I didn't get to these comments in a prompt manner*

Now forgive the stupid question, but would that be the 30K Thousand Sons stuff or the 40K stuff  Also...I hope that your back is getting better soon Hush :happy.:

Thanks Soulhunter! To quote witch-hunting peasants "I did get better". :)

As for the Thousand Sons both GW (40k) and FW(30k) have a ton of awesome bits you could use. You just have to avoid the mutated bits, I think.

I was enjoying the DH when it was originally being released but the Necron influenced Iron Hands was jaw dropping for me. It was simply an awesome mash-up. Something about the Iron Hands mindset of Flesh Is Weak coupled with necrodermis and using Necrontyr tech is sublime. The thought of them using gauss weaponry and phasing out made my imagination drool.

I also need to read up but I don't recall much about Ferrus except he killed Fulgrim and regained his severed hand. I honestly think if I find a cheap enough FW Ferrus I'd give a conversion a shot. :smile.:

Thanks! I like the skinny limbs but with the adpetus titanicus knights and some of the FW AM bits it would be possible to bulk them up. However, since I have the necron limbs I'll be using those. My thought process is warriors are pretty much still flesh and imperial/human bionics. As the marines rank up and become immortals, flayed ones, etc they purge more flesh and begin getting fitted with more necron bits to points where their armor is just encasing organs. Then you have HQ units where they have completely cast off their flesh and are completely necrodermis shells containing their soul. Hopefully I can represent this more as I start building this team up again.

Thanks for stopping by!

Your Flayed Hand is menacingly posed. Will you cover him in blood, or will living metal resist the adhesion of such "filth"?

Thank Bjorn, I am much happier with the arm swap from that previous weapon I had on him. I definitely want some gore on my flayed ones. Not because they enjoy it but because they make a mess when tearing through weak flesh :) *cheese and crackers, why did a I put a smiley face after this?!*

Very cool conversions ! i really want to see where this project is going ! keep it up !

In the not too distant future I should be back on this project. I am having too much fun with the Alpha Legion right now but I do intend on coming back to this alternate history. I’m not playing GW’s kill team at the moment so I may get a codex and start list building Necrons for Heralds of Ruin and go from there. I too have a few things I want to do with these fine abominations that I want to see become reality.

Glad to see you back Hush, and with some excellent models to boot   I shall definitely have to have another think about my force and get some planning done me thinks :) can`t wait to see what else you come up with

Thank you and it’s good to have come back, Soulhunter! I would whole heartedly love to see you do some DH work and please let me know when you do! Once I figure out a Heralds of Ruin list I’ll be able to plan from there.

Thanks again for stopping by!

Had the changes of his flesh, soul, and mind had not been replaced with venerated machine he would have felt disgust in his stomach and rage burning through his veins & in his heart. But those were meager emotions of those still bound to their flesh and yet a ghost of his humanity still lingered in what was left of his brain.

A complex series of code, that could be given in a blurt of machine language, would tell all who understood his name, rank, origin, purpose, and any other data that was found relevant. To quantify it for the lesser evolved of his species he merely deigned to convey that he was the Captain of the Adeptus Mechanicus ship, The Fist of Mars. And in the void it was burning. His hand was outstretched to a nearby console with mechatendrils connecting him directly into his ship. He stood at his command dias upon the bridge directing the repelling elements of his forces but his vision swam with pict after pict of the boarders cutting through them. He knew what they were, Astartes, but he could not understand what they had become.

There was no doubt in the physiology and armor that the phantoms that boarded his ship were Space Marines. Yet they appeared from thin air with no signs of teleportation much like their own strike cruiser that disabled the Fist of Mars. Their armor had changed and much of their bodies augmented with bionics not of Martian design. Nor were they constructed with materials he had ever seen. In the cargo catacombs of his ship a Skitarii sentry had blasted one boarder with plasma weapon. Yet the abomination got up and returned to its feet, drawing its own weapon and firing until the skitarii was nothing but base atoms. The damage done to the Astartes repaired itself to a mirror sheen against its dark armor.

The Captain had seen the icons bared upon their armor amidst indeterminable runes, the Iron Gauntlet of Ferrus Manus. It was the Iron Hands Legion of old, traitors to the Imperium and the Defilers of Mars. Again, the Captain felt uncoded sensation run through his mind, again the remnants of his humanity felt hate for an ancient enemy long thought dead...

Howdy folks! I finally got to take some small steps to move this project along. I guess I will start with the latest addition to my upcoming Heralds kill team: An Iron Hands Legion Warrior.

Two more pics:

gallery_55057_14876_507278.jpeg

gallery_55057_14876_573484.jpeg

This fella was made possible by my friend donating a necron warrior that I finally cut up to get my hand son his gauss flayer. This warrior would basically be a newly inducted Astartes. His armor, mostly still human-based, encases his body that is still mostly flesh. As he partakes in more raids and skirmishes he will in time gain the veteran status, and would have had more flesh replaced with bionics, to become an Immortal Son. In becoming one that is when he would finally be awarded greater necrodermis armor and bionics.

I plan on making three more of these and I hope I can spruce them up a bit. Right now my Heralds team consists of a Cryptek (which I am excited about), 4 immortals (1 left to go), 4 Warriors, and 1 Lychguard with sword & shield. Speaking of which...

Back

gallery_55057_14876_709250.jpeg

I swear this is the last time he goes under the knife. I made my list and was happy I could use this guy as a Lychguard but I really wanted him to have the sword and the shield. Well, popped off the hand I had glued on, did some trimming, and viola! All I kind of want now is an IH icon I can put on the shield over the Necron iconography.

Well, I have some bits to look for and parts to order so I can finish this team up. As always, thanks for stopping by and checking out some alternate timeline xeno-tech heresy.

The Legion Warrior looks most promising. The Lychguard I'm unsure of; the pauldrons are the only Astartes trait I see, and the legs look too thin to support his weight.

The scene of the Skitarii Alpha observing the Iron Hands boarding action, is well done.

Thanks Bjorn! I’m happy to finally have a legion warrior built. Took me too long. I forgot I bought kataphron torsos that looks more customized and mechanical. So I’ll remember to put it to use next time to show off some senior ranked warriors.

As for the flayer turned lychguard, and the immortals, that’s a common critique. I agree with it but at the same time I like it. It obviously looks necron which ties in the tech heresy and it also looks wrong and kinda unnatural (just like a necron-infused Iron Hand). I do kind of wonder if I could get slightly bigger necron esque legs printed...

And glad you like the fluff. I do want to sprinkle some in even though there is so little of Dornian Heresy fluff out there.

Excellent, the Warrior and that last Immortal both look lovely.

Thank you, thank you! Hopefully my next ones will be just as good or better. Edited by hushrong

Ahhhh it warms the cockles of my soul to see an update for this thread Hushrong :D Looking good as always :)

That’s always good to hear! :) Thanks Soulhunter! Hopefully more to come if I can find some primaris bodies I know I have lying around, regardless of that I’ve started shopping for some extra bits to keep these guys going!
