I hope it doesn't take that long!!

My impression is that it would be in our hands by now if there weren't pandemic delays. GW seems to have side-lined specialist games releases in favor of getting Psychic Awakening and 9th Edition out on time. But we could still see our new book up on preorder any weekend now, along with that new Necromunda House Escher wave. I know at least one frater will riot if he doesn't get Legio Magna rules soon, so they'd better hurry up.

First two Cerastus are built, really looking forward to painting something that isn't the Warlord's size :happy.:

Assembled the first Reaver from the starter set - getting one of the melta cannon Reaver's face plates to fit with the other Reaver's head assembly took a lot of incremental cutting, dry fitting and adjusting, but I'm really happy with how it turned out - although because I added the eyes last, I managed to loose a set of lenses inside the glued together head that I wasn't able to retrieve, so now it functions as a rattle toy too :biggrin.:

Having a hobby wobble with my traitor legion. I was set on my Mordaxis but I think I want a wilder legion to play really aggressively compared to my shooty Defensor something that gets right up in the enemies face. Vulpa are talking to me a lot recently and I had an idea about getting the raw meat look of them - using contrast paint! It's normally awful over wide areas but could look alright for Vulpa with some extra white or grey drybrushing/squiggles. Also works for the bone trim :P I might try it out on some spare plates my next choice is probably the Fire Masters or Vulcanum for the nice Sons of Horus green.

Much closer to picking a legion than me at least! I really can’t decide and ones I do like seem really intimidating to paint. The transfer situation doesn’t help either (in that they either don’t exist or only exist now for £50 a sheet on eBay for most legions).

Edit: meant to say the raw meat idea sounds (grossly) awesome. The pooling of contrast on flatter panels might give it that more organic look.

I think you might be right about contrast paint working for Vulpa. Paint wraithbone, maybe paint some blobs and streaks over the panels and then paint with a purple and red. Skeleton horde over the trim would give you its colour and some shade around the edges of the panels.

Assembled the first Reaver...

Really liked the pose of your Reaver. Looks ace!

Thanks! As I've now got 3 Reavers I'm trying to visually differentiate them through varied posing - the Reaver legs can be tricky to work with, but as long as you stick to the rule of keeping the feet at 90 degrees to the lower legs, the shin armour should still fit right - I've also been messing around with re-positioning the Reaver toes which works okay once you know what you're doing and don't get over-ambitious. One drawback to the posing I've gone for is that none of them actually conform to their firing arcs, but I'll be marking those on the base rims for fairness - here's my other assembled Reaver which was from the Battlegroup box but recently got a weapon swap:

Hi all, probably the best place to ask: in the AT starter set, do you only get the rules/terminals for the included models? The description says you get 4 titan terminals, I assume for the reavers and hounds.

I'm looking at getting the starter, and already have the Battlegroup (warlord, reaver, 2 warhounds), can I ask what other things I need to be able to use all of them in-game?

Thanks!

The new starter is a very nice set. Combined with the battlegroup you'll have a pretty solid battlegroup.

I think you're going to need some more terminals, and possibly some weapon cards. I don't actually have the new starter so I'm not sure exactly what's in it.

However one thing you can do is download all the terminals from Warhammer Community. https://www.warhammer-community.com/2019/05/14/adeptus-titanicus-downloadable-command-terminalsgw-homepage-post-2fw-homepage-post-1/

FYI the Psi-titan and Warbringer both come with thin card terminals, like those in the new starter. The Grand Master Edition has 2 thick card terminals for Warlord, Reaver and Warhound, though I don't know if you'd want three Warlords right from the start, especially all with Bellicosas. Still, it's a decent deal, if you're going to use the knights and terrain.

You could get a plasma warlord, or a psi-titan (which comes with two plasma guns) if you fancy it. Honestly though I think you'll have enough stuff to paint for now.

And finally, get some 5x1mm magnets, especially for the Warlord(s). Unfortunately the base armament of two bellicosas is pretty awful, generally resulting in your titan blowing itself up, so sooner or later you'll want a resin gun for it.

The Grand Master boxed set

Came with thick card stock punched terminal cards for 2x warlord, 2x reaver, and 2x warhound. It came with weapon cards for all titans, one card of each weapons except for Warlord model's weapons BVC (4 needed) and AML (2 needed). I'm sure it came with 2 Questoris Knight Banner terminals too.

The Horus Heresy boxed set

Came with thin card stock (not punched) terminals of the new slightly smaller plan form, 2x Reaver, 2x Warhound. It came with weapon cards, one for each weapon in the box. So 8 reaver weapons, and 8 warhound weapons (2 of each gun type for the Warhounds).

It also came with 2x Cerastus Knight Banner terminals again thin card stock not punched.

So you'll be short on cards for the Battlegroup titans, both terminals and weapon cards (you could get away with the Warhound weapon cards if you only used 2 of each weapon across the 4 Warhounds you own).

The Terminal downloads aren't complete. There's no Acastus sheet, and I think no Warbringer.

Oh bugger, the heat wave turned to a storm front just as I was about to start priming the latest maniple. Well, it's a good excuse to build more Cerastoi then. Getting swiftly towards 20 knights too, almost through the unassembled AT pile... after a couple more titans and a dozen knights more.

First, let me say that I totally get that COVID put the zap on both the creative process and printing for Defense of Ryza, so it's not a mystery to me that it's delayed.

...but as I'm waiting for the new Legio creation rules, I still wish there were some news on when it might appear.

In the Facebook group someone linked to these really useful cheat sheets. Thought I’d share here. Includes costs of Titan weapons, though again not Warbringer or Acastus. https://cdn.fbsbx.com/v/t59.2708-21/50177841_367757243808045_3376754690283798528_n.pdf/AT-Weapons-Reference-Sheets.pdf?_nc_cat=102&_nc_sid=0cab14&_nc_oc=AQmHJMHisNcSqw7EmnsXQ8hg1Yv1OcL3scBRnSjdcPKvYmjxjUrV2bClncW9XN8uXH_qkb91UDhjyEaIxJ7wNbW_&_nc_ht=cdn.fbsbx.com&oh=981f0c8a58561a88bddcb87e0b9e4d5b&oe=5EFC9FE5&dl=1

Did some basecoating of my Warbringer last night. Skeleton is almost done and colour is appearing on panels. It was my only unbuilt Titan, though of course my Psi-Titan remains Unfinished too. And there are about 20 unbuilt knights too...

Hail!

Finally I have some At18 related stuff to mention!

Yesterday evening I managed to assemble one Cerastus Knight-Lancer. Just one more to go, and all Cerastii chassis are done, and then just the last three Questoris to do, and all Knights are done (at least until they release the Acheron and Castigator...)

I think I’ve decided on the Legio I’m going to go with, Legio Fureans. I was initially put off them by the flame pattern, but the painting guide for them in the Goonhammer article (https://www.goonhammer.com/warlord-wednesdays-legion-focus-legio-fureans/) seems doable, and I like the darker, more ochre yellow look. Annoyingly I obviously missed the Fureans transfer sheet, and there aren’t even any on eBay for ridiculous prices at the moment. I hope they start reprinting transfer sheets at some point.

All this said, I’m very indecisive and I’m sure I’ll be uhming and ahhing about this for a while.

Fun little experiment: if you have some Battlefield Assets you don't plan on using, cutting the bunkers in half gives you a neat pair of barricades for adding some scale to bases

I downloaded this today for my iPad but haven't gotten to play with it yet.

Oh awesome finally an Android app!

One of my favorite things to do is exclude Androiders from group chats.
