Anyone else waiting on news of the warmaster? I got some funds earmarked for AT, but as much as I want a lucius reaver with all the weapons, I'd prefer to save more for the big guy.

Feels like there should have been an engine Kill article at the end of February, but maybe it's pushed to the end of march for a mid-april release?

It seems its been delayed again, which i worried about when we skipped Engine kill as with fortnightly releases its not coming out in March now. Hopefully early April? hoping this hasnt pushed back the Q2 releases too, i needs my traitor book! :)

Maybe trying to build up hype with the new WD coming out that has an article? I think they might be losing people’s interest at this point

TIAT (well, last night, but who’s checking?), I finished my fourth Reaver for Legio Atarus! One more to get at some point and I’ll be able to field an entire Corsair maniple!

I’ve glued the top arm sections in, and magnetised at the elbow, so he can share weapons with the Warbringer I’ve just finished, which means only ranged weapons, but I have enough reavers to have one dedicated shooter! I also converted my second Heavy Bolt carapace weapon out of a spare Warhound gun and Warlord neck piece.

What do people think of the name Panopticon? It means “All Seeing” which is cool for a ranged shooter, is a reference to a classic Dr Who Gallifrey location, but is also connected to prison design, so I’m torn!

Great work! That's a solid VMB conversion. The Warlord neck in there is a really good idea.

I think the name is fine. If you want to avoid the prison design association, you could tweak the suffix a little so it sounds more like a person than a place: Panoptikos, Panoptica, etc

Last night I finished off my first titan, just a warhound as proof of concept for the scheme, but I think it looks good. Not spent a lot of time on it, but TT standard so I can get playing asap!

I just need to think of a decent basing scheme. Astrogranite debris might work on this scale, I dont like it at 40k scale...

Some terrain bits I've designed for Vanguard Miniatures have been released. :)

Oooh...I was also thinking of 'Titan scale' landmines. How big would those charges be?

Depends on what you want them to do. An average anti-tank mine of today would be like 10 kg of TNT in a plate sized package and is quite capable of blowing up a track from any tank that rolls over it. Anti-personnel land mines scattered around in millions, nowadays small as your hand, are usually aimed to just mangle the foot of the poor sod who steps on them. If the aim is to just break the titan's footpad so it has to basically stop for repairs or risk falling over instead of blowing it sky high, maybe something like man-sized cutting charges or car-sized general purpose explosives would do the job in large quantities?

Awesome, Malika!

That's putting ideas in my head for Titan-scale Dragon's Teeth, maybe 2-3 cm actual size...

The design is quite ineffective against walkers, though :D

Unlike tanks, titans tend to pack enough punch to cost effectively make enough of a hole in such defences that they can then waltz through while building such megastructures wouldn't be much cheaper than just building a more effective fortified wall in the first place. Against regular tanks it's cheap as chips to haul big rocks or poured concrete cones around.

Well, yes.

But as we all know, it's all about how they look!

TIT I remembered the silly stage of painting a titan where you try and paint absolutely anything else on a model you can to put off painting the trim just a little bit longer!

TIT I:

Finished the bases for my Warhounds. (This doesn't sound like much, but I did go a little mad on them...)

Painted a little Razorback in White Scar colours to go on one of those bases. (I put a little red lightning bolt over his left front hatch, he now looks like Ziggy Stardust.)

Came up with a name for one of the Warhounds

Gave all of the skeleton its second wash

Tidied my desk a bit.

Now all I have left is the trim...

Sigh.

Big announcement!

TIAT, I'll be trying to decide whether to base up the GrimDark Terrain walls as scatter to go on my wasteland mousepad mat, or to bite the proverbial bolter shell and build everything on modular terrain tiles and go full 3d.

On the one hand, tiles will look AMAZEBALLS. On the other, it's so, so much time that I just don't get.

Walls and railline/road will be arranged into modules something like this that will fit together even as scatter but on tiles they could be better integrated into the groundwork.

I love how many AT fans (myself included) are clearly just using the Titans as an excuse to finally set up that indoor model railway they've always wanted. How long until someone just gives in and uses z-scale electric trains?
