Wolves 2.0 Speculation

the best thing i heard about the new the codex..... guilliman gives reroll 1s to wound and not all wounds .... at last.... the rules team did the right thing there.... it was broken and it would be even more broken with the new rules of ultra marines....

Also aggressors are +1 W and +1 A for the same cost.....about time (i hope they will update those units in the pdf)

I can't wait to drop two units of plasma cannon long fangs, next to some ruins kitted with plasma to the teeth and put some serious wounds on enemy armour. That being said, can you use the wolf's eye stratagem twice in a shooting phase? I have always thought that you can't just would love two supercharging units

Irrelevant to the new dex but here is a way I would love to see all first born marines improved by. So a 5-man unit can take a special weapon and if you have a 10 man unit, the unit can take 2 special weapons. But that doesn't really make my sense to me as why would you regularly take a 10 man unit when you could just take 2 5-man squads and fill 2 troop places in a battalion. I would like to see a 10-man unit be able to take 3 special weapons. I just feel this would be a good tactical choice to have available

You can't use the same strat twice in the same phase.

Thought so, I never have but thanks for confirming

A unit of LF can take a WG PL as well as a CCW on the regular PL. Drop pod in 5 MM backed up with some ablative bodies, no penalty to hit, maybe a lieutenant (with a third CCW) and after shooting one target charge the second closer target with two TH PL's putting out rhino-killing levels of hurt just on their own. 7 TH hitting on 3's from a pack of LF's.

I lined up the dice 5 hammernators get with Arjac, not even thinking about relics or WT and its insane. Actually mad.

I'd just really like to be able to replace any power weapon, including a power fist, with another type of power weapon or frost weapon on Primaris characters and sergeants (where they have such) - it would also be nice to do this for Reiver sergeants.

I would like to see non compliant chapters get something unique each, like intercessor PL getting frost plus one with a SS, BA sergeants getting power weapons plus one with flamer/melta, DA sergeant gets PP plus one with a plasma gun, and so on. Would be great utility wise and fit a theme.

I am looking now at every 5 man unit being both shooty and fighty and using them like that - walk forward blazing away and turn three everyone charges. Interrupt will only happen once and all these attacks are going to add up fast.

Yeah, I doubt that we'll get it, but it's such an easy conversion that it would be nice for GW to start supporting some of that in the rules again. Especially since they are starting to show conversions (usually simple ones) in White Dwarfs.

So after the leaks and previews (I think we will only get the new primaris and the other point costs for older stuff will probably be in the next chapter approved and not in the pdf) anyway.... :

Landraider godhammers became a little more playable now with 2xtwinlascannons, 1xtwin heavy bolter and 1xstorm bolter costs the same points as a stormwolf

Thunderhammers on sw characters will be changed with fists

Longfangs with plasma cannons and plasma gun on ancient in a first turn drop pod look very solid

Dreadnoughts in general seem to be a little cheaper so ven dreads with twinlascannon/missile launcher became more viable

Aggressors seem to be the same cost with +1 attack and +1 wound... With our chapter tactic, shock assault and the outflank stratagem they are a very solid choice...

Eliminators look interesting with the antitank weapons...

The new dread/suit looks interesting with the auto cannon...

Stormhawk interceptor seems to be cheaper...

All in all if we get all the new point changes and shock assault in all our units it will be a nice little boost

I can't believe that TH is 40 points, thats gotta be a typo. 9 points for a PF that does D3, but 40 (more than 4x the price) for a flat 3?

Once again GW pulverises something with a nerf (thunder) hamnmer when a tap with the nerf bat would have sufficed. :p

Lonewolf81 that's a pretty good breakdown of the positives for us. I would add that implusors should be pretty solid as well really should help out hellblasters. I wish it could carry gravis but at least we can out flank Aggressors who are really strong in our book.

Yes it's only characters to bring some balance with the +1 attack on melee specialist chapters like wolves and blood angels... They went a bit over the top... Thunderhammers for other units I think became 2pts cheaper... Intercessors sergeant with shock assault and thunder hammer dishes out 4 attacks... 5 with wulfenstone... Hidden in a squad of 4

intercessors inside a impulsor with only 2xstormbolters and the shield (4+invul) {the transport with that load our costs a

little under 100 pts} is also a nice combo

Is it just characters that thunder hammers are going up on? I hope so as I think it would be a tough choice to bring wulfen with hammers or not.

Initially people are saying only characters, however our thunder wolf shields are priced at character prices, so I am worried that our t hammers might be 40 for twolfs and wulfen
