Pyschic Awakening: Speculation

The video from a while back that had a bunch of flashes of a new big Ork with obvious nods to the current Ghaz model sort of confirmed a new Ghazghkull was inbound, no? It makes sense to put it out with Saga of the Beast but I doubt they'd pull the old one. Probably put it on last chance to buy once the new one goes on preorder.

Ghaz is still on the Canadian site.

Nah it was Makari and his best bud, Thazghkull Ghraka. :tongue.:

I mean... they pulled Ragnar and Ghaz from some sites, we know Ghaz is coming and Wolves are fighting him. It's a reasonable assumption that Ragnar's getting Primarized - which we knew was a likely thing anyway, because he's The Space Wolf Charactertm. Just in time for me building some Wolves. :biggrin.:

Edit: I flipped through a majority of the regions for both Ghaz's search and Ragnar's (as in, I typed in "ghazghkull" and "ragnar blackmane" into the search bar), and they're as follows:
Ghaz is pulled everywhere but North America and, like, Australia as far as I can tell. Sue me, my computer's slow and I flipped through all of them in order down to the Netherlands, plus I saw U.S. has him still because that's where I live.

Ragnar seems to be pulled in the U.S. and Canada only at the moment, though if they're dropping him in favor of an update, it'd stand to reason they'll pull him everywhere like the Ork.

Think old Ghaz will be common on the secondary market after the new one drops? If I start an Ork army, I kinda wanna pick one up for use as a Warboss in Mega Armor, like Dawn of War uses him as. I dunno, he just seems like a classic.

Well, in any case, it's up now, and no Ghaz or Ragnar in sight. Kinda expected since if they announced the preorder now they'd hit shelves before March, and that'd be a bit weird considering the monthly nature of Psychic Awakening.

But hey, classic Yarrick and a Ghaz "mention", so I expect it won't take long for them to start hyping up Saga of the Beast.

Will be interesting to see if great companies get something rules wise.

My suspicion is that they will not. DAs got nothing for successor chapters and even Flesh Tearers only get support because they have an actual named character.

I suspect we will continue to have to represent different GCs using stratagems, Warlord Traits and just unit selection. E.g. if you want to run Iron Wolves, just buy plenty of vehicles and mech-up.

But great companies and successor chapters are much different things. Event the tempestus scions, being a subfaction by themselves previously got own subfactions rules. Wolves had rules for great companies last edition. Also, wolves have subfaction specific characters: Grimnar, Ragnar, Krom and Harald are leaders of different great companies.

Well in the latest teaser on the 40k Facebook page they released a map of all the active WAAAAAGHs in the galaxy. More interesting though is the symbol in the bottom left of the map next to a skull marker that says "Possible Sightings of The Beast" :D

I did a thing.

It's a bit hard to see the difference between the two, but it's true that some of the Waaghs have moved and/or expanded. Most noticeably, Wazdakka's southern side is moving towards Rynn's World, the Waaghs around the Ghoul Stars are going north, and a couple of new minor Waaghs have appeared here and there.

Ghaz/Beast sightings are still the same as the Codex.

New story on Warhammer Community: The Feast.

Ragnar Blackmane pretty much confirmed if there were any doubts left about which wolf it'd be.

Yup, but will it herald a new miniature...

-Ran

Come, now. They pulled Ragnar from the webstore, at least in the U.S., they're gonna come out with a new plastic Embiggened Ragnar like everyone else.
