The Moirai - Sisters of Fate Blog

Hello everyone!

This will be my blog for my triplet sisters in Chaos Knights. Clotho, Lachesis and Atropos. Named after the sisters of fate, The Moirai. I plan on running all three knights with double Avenger Gatling Cannons and as Daemons. I will also have close combat options available just in case I want to mix it up. If allowed marks I will be giving them all Mark of Khorne as it will fit in with my Renegade White Scars and Daemon Princes I have and plan on building. But I'm also thinking about marking them with Slaanesh and making them immaculate. I have time to plan as the entire project is going to cost around $3,000+ as I plan on having them professionally painted with murals and all that jaz.

More to come in the future!

-= Shopping List =-

Warden/Canis Rex x6 (Mainly for the Avenger Gatling Cannons)

Rampager x3 (Close Combat Options & Legs/Chasis for the sisters)

If the Canis Rex and the Warden are the same price where you are (they are in Canada), buy the Canis Rex instead as it comes with everything in the Warden box plus another sprue.  More bits are more bits, even if you have no idea how to use them at the moment there's no telling how they might be used in the future.

Additionally, if you are just buying the Warden's for the avenger cannons, you might be able to get away with 2 as you could convert the laser destructors of two of the rampagers into avenger cannons.

Plus, you forgot to put on your list that you either need 3 forgefiend kits or the hades cannons from 3 such kits. :)

I wasn't planning on using the conversion that you shared in the other thread. I'm too picky and lazy :p. So I'm just going to buy the extra Wardens. Also, Canis Rex is the same price so great call on that I'll just end up purchasing six Canis Rex models. Can't wait to see the look on the LFGS owner's face when I place this order in a few months. Gonna be about $1500 after taxes. Then I need to get them shipped out for building/painting.

A thought is that you may want to not do all 3 as full on Ravager models with avengers - you might want to mix and match them with loyalist parts.  Not only could this save you one model, but it would allow you to get different looks from each of the 3 machines - which is appropriate, IMHO, for chaos.

That's what I plan to do - I have a loyalist knight left over from the GW boxed game that came with 2 knights (Renegades?) and plan to buy one Chaos knight and mixing the parts with my loyalist to have 2 more unique knights.

This is an option for sure. But I really like the new chassis that were designed for the Chaos Knights, particularly the legs. I feel that, since they will be painted differently it will be enough. I'm still looking into ideas for the murals that I want on the shoulder(s). Working on a background as well. Since I will be going the Infernal route I also need to think up a good background.

I remember reading about Chaos related things in some of the historical documents of 40k that explained that Chaos would use warped nightmares that people would have and manifest them into reality. So I'm thinking that maybe the background of my triplet knights is that they were created by a nightmare of a small noble child that was traveling through the warp. The dream was built from an old fairy tale regarding the Moirai and about how they helped control the fates of people in general. This dream was then warped and controlled by a Daemon when the shielding on the ship failed and turned into a nightmare of the these three Knights destroying her homeworld and murdering all that she knew.

The shields were restored to the ship and later the child finds out that her dream became reality as she found that her home system had been removed from records. Upon further digging she finds that an inquisitor had ordered exterminatus on the planet. I'll be working on writing this as my submission to the Black Library contest. :D
