I got the Venom done today, I wanted a slight break from the Kabalites and try my hand at a little bit of freehand. I think the eye needs some tidying up but is a good first attempt. C&C is very welcome:

Either of those works but my idea is that they use a lot of sea fairing themes. Eyes on Boats like in the old days etc.

I got 5 Hellions done and I have another 5 to do. I absolutely love the sculpts and I like how they look like they play in the game.

With that it leaves 5 Hellions, a Venom and a Razorwing. I have ordered the Blood of the Phoenix box that my friend is taking the Craftworld from. At 3rd party prices and splitting between us, the price really isn't that bad (a lot better for me then it is for him) That will bump me up to another Venom, another 5 Hellions, 5 Scourge, 5 Incubi and Drahzar.

I hope everyone is doing well in these weird times! I have a weirdly high amount of mojo for painting but I'm certainly not complaining!

Thanks man! It's a bit difficult to get an army shot atm because of my set up (currenty painting on a dining room table with no real decent lighting) but I'll see what I can do, I'm sure that I can get one together :happy.:

A super cool thing happened! My Rusted Harvest were featured on HobbyHangout! I was watching the VOD and eating my breakfast suddenly Oh :censored: that''s my stuff! Genuinely thrilled to be included there with very talented hobbyists, although I need to chat to Nick about how to pronounce Trawing :wink:

I've had a small lull in posting but I haven't had a lull in progress. I wasn't too sure how to base these guys to begin with, most of my other armies have a simple astrogranite basing scheme or a a dark desert scheme. With these guys being relatively drab/dull I figured a bright-ish basing scheme made sense but was stuck between a mars-ish/red scheme or a light desert. I tried light desert and it didn't come out how I wanted it to so tried Mars-ish and it came out pretty great.

I started off with a 5 man Kabalite squad and a scourge, and was like oh damn this is the one:

Having painted these I can honestly say that these have so much movement and character and are honestly some of the best models GW have put out and cement the Dark eldar range as my top favourite model range. A lot of it has to do with the way the odels are put together but the Klaivex for example is sucha cool model in the way it looks so cocky without a smirk , just a silent challenge. Enough of my ramblings, hope everyone is keeping well in this odd time.

I've really been enjoying my hobby streak these last few weeks, I don't think I've been this productive before. I've painted 39 Dark eldar modes in 37 days, when I include the Death guard I've painted I've painted 49 models in 47 days, which to me is just crazy!

I've stil got to do the Talos and finish the Razorwing, the Talos is next up on my list to do.

I did however get Drazhar done, I really enjoyed painting this guy and I think he's probably come out as my best painted Dark eldar model:

Thanks Hushrong, the orange isn't to everyone's taste but I'm glad it's found a niche :biggrin.:

Drazhar was very fiddly but so worth it, I've just finished a Talos and he's probably ore fiddly with all the bloody vials and nooks and crannies:

If there is one thing I hate it is a Talos. Either those or gortesques always wrecked my day somehow on the table when my buddy fields them. Despite that yours came out looking ace! The colors you've used and the crisp paint job is just stellar. I've gone back over your log where you started covering the DE and I have to ask, how are you doing the sea green armor? You've been using it to make the DE look awesome and I would like to copy your recipe for some Sons of Horus (I even tried seeing what paints were in the background of some of your pictures :teehee: ).

As for orange death guard I like it because 1.) Damn it looks good! and 2.) It's unique, eye-catching, and stands out. I usually get hung up on wanting to try and paint studio schemes that I forget there are some cool things that can be done when you think outside the box. So when I see something like that and it's painted super well too, I'm down!

Thanks Hushrong! Talos are nasty and I love them, they look great when you have many of them :yes:

The paints I use are:

Sprayed Mechanicus Standard Grey

Basecoat: Sons of Horus

Recess wash: Nuln

Highlight: Dawnstone

Tips/corners of highlights: 50/50 mix of Dawnstone and white scar

It's nice and easy and looks good which is good for me! :happy.:

My missus and I just moved into our own place on Friday so I've got plenty of adulting stuff to figure out, but I though I'd get some army shots of my Dark Eldar so far:

I even did a Crosshair.. not that anyone is going to see it when I put the canopy on...
