And with that I've painted 57 Dark eldar models in 61 days, I've never been this productive before and boy it feels good! :wub:


My models got featured on Hobby Roundup yesterday too which was so cool to see, and on my Birthday no less! :blush:

It was my birthday not that log ago and my lovely mates pitched together and got me Mortarion, I was going to buy him myself but instead I bought some more plague marines and more pox walkers and also the Wurmspat Beastgrave team because they're just too nice not to have.

 

Over the last 2 weeks I've been slowly working on Mortarion. I built bits of him and then sprayed him to make sure I could get to all the nooks and crannies, although as it turns out I managed to do loads of details on parts of the model that were never seen once put together

 

So here's the WIP so far, I've still got the scythe and pistol to go. C&C is always welcome!:

Strange to see Mortarion in orange, instead of his own Legion's colors. I must admit you painted him well, though.

Love that you made the DG your own by using an unconventional armor color like orange. It REALLY makes all the blues and purples and turquoise details POP!

The random ‘spent’ artillery shells from the CCI .22 LR cartridges is a nice touch too. Planning on using that for some of my larger artillery too. Look forward to seeing ‘Morty’ all put together once finished!

I used a lot of Putrid Blightkings arms and weapon bits for the 13 new plaguemarines just to spice things up a bit, get some more poses and some different looking weapons and so da they're looking great

I managed to get a Defiler cheap on ebay as it needs a lot of work. This will be my first jump into Greenstuff as I need to fill gaps and  a missing leg as well as the missing pistons on some of the legs, I'd like to Nurglify it too. I also managed to get a properly old school metal Chaos dreadnought, I believe its the 1995 dreadnought. Lots more work to do!

Close combat Plague Marines look sweet! Love the mix of exposed flesh and gnarly, bladed weapons. Definitely not the trench fighter you want to bump into during a battle.

Thank you Hushrong! I was a bit wary of trying to cut and paste the arms and hands but actually they came out really well. It adds a lot of variety to their poses but also their weapons as the PM kit comes with like 2 axes and 4 knives and also lots of lovely, bloated flesh on show!

 

I got the Blightspawn done, the tank has grown on me I think I need to varnish it for it to look complete I think. I'm still waiting on my Thunderhawk blue to arrive so I can highlight the black trim. C&C is always welcome:

This is the first time in  nearly a year since I've painted a loyalist and damn its cool to be back!

 

The first half of Squad Viribus is done, I'm trialling a lot more skin tones as before all my guys had the same skin tone which is not at all representative of an Earth like planet
 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 
 

The first outrider is done too! The Freehand came out well, the hazard stripes on the tilting plate aren't quite right and need a redo but otherwise looking great!

The Chainsword is maglocked on the model already, I can't take credit for that unfortunately  The Outrider models are absolutely fantastic tbh and I did very little to them

Thank you Dallo! It is a lot of Orange Death Guard, some would say too much

As I've said in an earlier post, I love the Death Guard and have plenty more to do, especially because they're going to be my Crusade army. I need to come up with some more concrete lore and I want to try to paint some more units for the army to get some more variety, probably a defiler next up

 

I have been working on more assault intercessors for the Iron Taurans but haven't finished any just yet, should get some more work done on them tonight hopefully

They look great... but IMHO they would look even greater if you drilled out the gun barrels - or at least painted a black dot at the end to let the bolt rounds out. :)

I finally got all my Intercessors done, I got sidetracked by Skaven pretty hard. I think there's some bits that need tidying up on them but I'm pleased with them so far:

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

I also got my Defiler done, I got it pretty cheap off of eBay and have patched the gaps with Milliput to look like mutated flesh. Still waiting on some milliput to dry on the scourge arm too
