I’ve made  a detachment of solar auxilia to support my Raven Guard. I’ve got three squads of veletarii and a legate, with transport. My converted fire raptor is built too. All of this stuff was painted in a big hurry for an event. It could definitely do with more work.

This is my legate and a veletarii squad. They ride around in this Arvus, which I’ve had unpainted for roughly a decade. Wonderful to get table time for it.

This is my rotor cannon squad and their “Grox” (counts as Aurox made from a Goliath and plasticard). I got hold of some bendy resin ammo feeds that work really nicely. These have orlock ash waste backpacks with the magazine from their legion rotor cannons stuck on, so it looks like they’ve got backpack ammo holders. They have come out really well I think.

For some reason the image of my third squad keeps uploading upside down. They’re just more people with volkites and a Grox though.

And here’s how the Fire Raptor currently looks. I’m quite pleased with how this has come out. Ideally I’d paint it better than this, maybe with camo like my vindicator.

Overall this lot represents finally managing to complete a lot of long-planned conversions. It’s really satisfying to get ideas out of my head and onto a tabletop. It also helped me run the Liberation Force rite of war for the first time, which was really interesting. It probably isn’t as good as decapitation strike but it does have advantages. With the Arvus returning I think I’ll get a second one and a flamer squad to ride in. I’ve already got a third Goliath ready to make into a Grox (or possibly a Carnodon). And I’d stilol like to make a few more RACEN guard units, like Mor Deythan, recon squads and perhaps some more characters.

The event itself was great. It was three games basically back to back, which was hardcore. I got three wins against great opponents, the toughest of which was against this admech force with a warhound. I slightly regretted not bringing my own, but actually managed to pop this one on turn 2, despite going second.

It's my favorite tank of the Rhino family.  You can use it as Scorpious, or as a simple Rhino, just switching the pieces from it's own box. I have two and I bought from Kromlech a resin radar for ACTs and I can use one as a Damocles.

One day I will buy the third...

A pair of apothecaries and a Chaplain for my Iron Warriors force. The bulk of the army is assault marines and veterans coming down in drop pods - so a lot of the characters are kitted out with jump packs.

This was my first ever Chaplain. Despite how iconic they are to the setting and IP, I've never made one before. It felt nice!363034898_809506927310484_7042459295024245273_n.thumb.jpg.1c1968803ee9ecb07f5ecb091736a421.jpg

I really like the chaplain. But also the apothecaries are awesome!

Magnetized a Typhon and Cerberus for my Ultramarines today.

I printed an alternate cannon for the Typhon (giant plasma array) and MkII style sponsons for both.  The front plates, main cannons, and sponson weapons are completely interchangeable between both.

The Typhon is going to join my Black armored Nemesis force, while the Cerberus is getting a more traditional XIIIth legion scheme.

Hopefully I can get them done before Starfield launches…

Had an apoc game on the uk bank hliday which was great fun, lots of carnage. One thing that surprised me is that knights, as pseudo super heavies, can react with their arm-mounted guns as they cound as defensive?! This seems way strong compared to other super heavies.

On that, I'm assuming that even though super heavies can only react to other super heavies, am I right in thinking that this is still only limited to defensive weapons, so while a knight can fire back with a thermal cannon into a fellblade, if the knight shoots the fellblade, the fellblade cannot shoot back at all? Is that right, or are there reaction weapon exceptions for superheavies?

Had a 3k game last night v fists and used the Falchion, kind of underperformed, just killing 3x vindis and a rhino, not a great return on ~700pts or so. I think it needs the MM pintles (i went with HB's) and to basically target the biggest thing the opponent had - I opted for vindis over the spartan, should have just gone for that.

Mission was ambush, with the fists ambushing the Alphas, they managed to get into my very large, central DZ very easily while I had to slog across the board.

House Orhlacc Lancer Angelus Veritatus ‘Angel of Truth’. Piloted by  Scion Sabine Orhlacc, pic-captured during active Compliance action

After a week delay due to paint, I've managed to finish off all the armour plates this afternoon and complete the Lancer

So a year (and several distractions) later, I have completed a squad of tac marines.received_658405349584498.thumb.jpeg.5eb0fb7cab9bfb343d7f26515c0f4cb8.jpegreceived_945861269841079.thumb.jpeg.6de26243ef0ef6a73b886360ff778e70.jpeg

Gone quite dark on my Blood Angels but I feel like it's 30K appropriate and I wanted to lean closer to Flesh Tearers.

Worked on a plasma support squad. Never got around to having one in HH1.0, it felt very broken! Now that plasma is a bit reduced, and I have more mark VI than I know what to do with... I made them into mark V.
