Whatever is coming GW seem to think it will be big, I know they've contacted a few people asking them to record their reactions.

that include you??

Nope, I think its channels they have links with, so people who receive like early codex stuff for reviews etc.

"In the darkness between the stars, the weak and the faithless find no deliverance."
"We are raised to believe that the God-Emperor watches over us all, and so we are charged to cleanse the mutant, the heretic, the alien."
"We must not falter. We are His sword. We are His wrath!"
"Even in the face of death, we shall not submit. Suffering is out prayer. Faith is our armour."

I'm more and more convinced that it is a single quote/chant/prayer split into parts.
It sounds something like the Black Templars or the Sisters would say, those who believe in the God-Emperor as a divinity.

I'm still convinced each text represents a "faction" of the Imperium, obviously all with ties to the faith of the God Emperor.

Last one does not sound like a Space Marine to me. War is the Space Marine prayer (in the BT case) not suffering.

"Trust in your hatred for the mutant and the heretic, brothers. Embrace the vengeful wrath you feel within your hearts. In the fires of war we shall serve our divine Emperor, praise be his name." - Grimaldus, the very first quote in the Black Templar section in Faith and Fury.

There's also plenty of examples in there of how faith in the Emperor is their shield, and "darkness between the stars" could arguably point towards a crusading fleet.

Everything save for "suffering" seems consistent with how they usually describe Black Templars to me, and on a meta level I don't think revealing Primaris bikes would warrant reaction videos when it was leaked months ago.

I want to believe...

The suffering part completely kills any chance of it being astartes related, unless it really is a multitude of factions. I've yet to see why this is such a popular theory though...?

EDIT: stupid phone correct

Maybe they'll announce releasing Engine War, War of the Spider and Pariah all in one weekend to catch up with their release schedule. Although it's unlikely, I think that would be cool, and it with fit the 'Big' moniker allowing them to move forward quicker with a potential 8.5/9 release. All speculation though, I'm not a CEO or a business type, but I think an accurate statement would be that this announcement will probably end up making them back some of the money they lost in lockdown.

Sisters vs 'Crons would be a great starter kit, I'd take a no Marines box anytime. Not sure it's going to be so however.

I forgot about the fact that I'd like to see an expanded Sisters of Silence range.

I think it is quite likely, not everyone would buy everything anyway and it would put them back on track much quicker for what is looking to be a far bigger release very soon, a good way to get the ball rolling right out of the gates of lockdown.

I don't seriously believe GW would ever make a starter set that wasn't Space Marines versus X.

Black Templars vs Necrons however isn't an especially iconic matchup, although it's possible GW don't really mind that (Dark Angels vs Crimson Slaughter, Black Templars vs Dark Eldar in 3rd, etc). It might also explain why GW held back on a Black Templar supplement since a whole new edition with which to market it would likely slip a few more quid in their pocket than at another time.

if thats the case (just the announcement of release dates of 3 things we already know) all the recorded faces will look dissapointed ... not the best marketing video

edit; was responding to torch, and while typing the short sentense there were 3 responses inbetween.
Im btw also expecting the remaining PA to be released all at once or short succesion.. I highly doubt that will be the big news though...

I wouldn't read too much into the specific wording of the quotes. They probably just told them to write something that sounded 'faithful and cool and metal'.

I see you saw the leaked announcement for it being a Fortnite crossover with Guilliman flossing too.

I'm gonna say the opposite. Do read into the wording, it's clearly obviously meant as a clue, and thinking the marketing doesn't know exactly what they're doing is as usual giving them too little credit.

I dont think theyd do BT v Necrons for the starter box as theres not enough of a difference in the colourschemes.

BT codex as a new codex cant be discounted though if all existing ones are staying current

All 3 P.A books and models in one weekend makes sense but really feels like theyre announcing more than that given the extra level of hype and a lot of that stuff having been revealed already

Just to point out, Helbrecht has a standing feud with Imotekh since he beat the Stormlord and flew his flagship into a star (Necron Codex, pg.31 Conquerer's Fall).

My guess is that going forward the Necrons will have a brass/gold scheme like Szeras, which would serve to make them pop out a lot more next to the black/white Templars.

Both schemes are also easy to... ugh, reach a 'Battle Ready' standard, which seems to be GW's favoured form of tutorial these days.

and if the Silent King is coming back, Dante has met him already, so there would be as logical a tie there.

I doubt we'll see either, certainly not in the starter set, probably not immediately after either.

they seem keen to try and keep things fairly generic for these big releases to appeal to as many as possible.

It'll probably remain ultramarines IMO.
