Maybe I misread the post. If they were listing wolf guard and inner circle as a examples of special keywords given to veterans and saying we should get the same treatment with sword brethren, then yes, that makes perfect sense. The way I read it is that they wanted to give space wolves and dark angels access to our stratas via a sword brethren keyword for wolf guard and inner circle units

Definitely not what they wrote. They suggested black templars get the same treatment as DA and SW

Yeah, I clearly thought he meant the same, giving away our stratas to their units. That def could've been worded better lol

I believe it's been said above that sword brethren get combi weapons - a big deal for primaris as none have had them so far. Presumably they'll have some good melee weapon options too.

They essentially sound like significantly better veteran intercessors honestly. Wouldn't be surprised if they dont have shield options (so that bladeguard retain a purpose)

Crusader squads I'd guess will be able to mix and match gear in the same way death company intercessors can, but wont be able to use the intercessor strats probably. Presumably they'll have some melee upgrade options too.

Interesting...

Think the point is, perhaps you’ll have a unique unit AND all other vets might get a keyword and then if you have some sword brethren strata, any vet could use it. Makes sense to me tbh. Ultimately better than just a unit to get a unit and some stuff to make the others better lol.

Yeah I think this is the best way to go about it. It would be silly if Bladeguard, for instance, didn't have the Sword Brethren keyword.

I’ve already seen posts of people complaining black templars should get their specific stuff after the first founders. As if they haven’t gotten any models the last 15 years

Same here. Was having a conversation with a guy who thinks all you gotta do to be Black Templars is play Space Marines with no librarians. And he’s salty about our codex before CSM, which I can understand.

CSM deserve better and have my condolences.

I'm about to have the time of my life enjoying the tears of 1st founding chapters that are used to having special treatment.

Templars are gonna shake up the SM world with a release this big

Lol yeah, I could really care less about the other chapters whining at this point. They have all had their time in the spotlight, multiple times, over multiple editions. I think it is their turn to wait.

I'v gotten the BA, SW, Sallies and raven guard primaris upgrades, just to use as bits. (And there was a time when the ba and sw upgrades were literally the only available primaris chainswords out there.) My point being of course that at least to some a bt upgrade sprue(s) will be welcomed even if they don't play bt, simply on account it meaning more bits.

And some will whine, and I'm not sure I'll be unable to rub it in their faces, but we all try our best

I want to see more second and subsequent founding.

Flesh Tearers and Lamenters are the 2 I would love to have fleshed out, besides our boys in black.

Let people complain, it's the usual suspects anyway. Let's focus on enjoying what's to come, and less on other people negativity.

So with this week nearing an end GW community has pretty much fleshed out their articles in regards to the Ork release, and since that is on pre order in a few days, we should start seeing an advancement in the advertisement cycle.

So for GK, I saw GW released a new Crowe model, was that all that was expected for them? I know they were predicted in the release line up, I believe next was Tsons, and unless I've missed it I haven't heard anything for them yet.

So, presuming they are next up, I'd expect to start seeing/hearing something about Tsons week after next? I'm hoping it is around this time frame we start getting some leaks for the Templar's.

Wait until we get a combi melta on our upgrade sprue and the option gets added to every intercessor sergeant...

this is actually an interesting point.

If BT get an upgrade sprue as well as a crusader kit, there is a small chance of weapon options being added to existing units too - which might well lead to the same as we have seen before, everyone else getting the same option.

HOWEVER, I don't think it's likely. I think we'll see BT be the first to get truly unique units with unique options. (excluding a couple of lieutenant options only available to wolves/DA which is still dumb).

Its a good time to wear black ceramite and swing proper swords around I'd think.

p.s. I cant wait to steal all sorts of cool bits, have done it with every other chapter upgrade, BTs will be no different :D

Steal them all! The more sales, the better for us honestly lmao.

I really doubt we are going to get any combi-weapons at all. I am sure Helbrecht will get his because he is a character.
With the way GW has been doing their new concept with each unit has 'one type of weapon' I doubt they will give us anything like the old marines.
Unless the new squads come out with just combi-weapons. I could see a whole squad running combi bolt rifles maybe?

I actually do like and believe this rumor of Sword Brethren having Combi-weapons because it gives them a niche and a visual identity unique to them at the moment, in my opinion if they were just Bladeguard without shields then they would kind of suck and giving them power weapons plus shields makes them redundant when Bladeguard exits, of course they could just be Bladeguard kit plus BT upgrade sprue but I personally prefer the idea of a squad with combi-weapons and power weapons because that feels like a veteran unit.
