A BT player got 4th(5w-1l) in BFS, a 80 men major.

A good curtain call for old templar rules.

Wait, you can have Grimmy and a MoS in the same list?

No. Ol' Grim has the MoS keyword.

EDIT: Since the Cenobyte servitors are in a seperate FOC slot and not with Grim that's the old list where Grim wasn't a MoS.

Old rules. He said it was the curtain call to the old rules, so the tournament didn’t update yet. Hence 5 man crusader squads.

You can still take 5 man Firstborn Crusader squads in the new book.

but it was just taken because they used to be cheap. I dont know if i prefer cruaser squads over Assault Intercessors by 5 points difference but one attack each model.

Fair point.

Given GW's penchant to do pun-related timings on releases (like Orktober), I heard the worrying speculation they could be aiming for Black friday with us.

But no, I got no info.

Had a fun and small 25PL Crusade game at my local GW today, my templars faced an orc stormboys army. My army being a crusader squad, Emperor's Champion and two 5 man intercessor squads. Had the master at arms Warlord Trait which does wonders as an heroic intervention monsters.

Opponent got first turn and went forward and charged my crusader squad with my Champion by their side.

He intervened and got charged with during the game, not only surviving but destroyed the enemy in holy close combat and blunting a squad of 10 storm boys to one with 4 remaining and killing the enemy Warlord the next turn.

Used Suffer Not the Unclean to Live vow to help with the 5 Toughness of the orks. Sixs to hit with a chainsword is a dead ork. Going forwards with bigger games in the future gonna have another crusader squad, redemptor from the box, chaplian and bladeguard.

Edit: I learn the power of fight first when being charged and prolonged combat, I only wanted the extra attack for him.

So I've been rolling AAC atound in my head, and I think I was looking at it wrong: the bonus attack isn't the main buff, the bonus AP from being in the Assault Doctrine early is. Plus we don't have to switch Doctrines right away meaning we can ride the Tactical Docteine for an extra turn with no downside (doctrine-wise).

On a different note, anyone else suspecting Bladeguard, Vanguard Vets and flamer type weapons might go up in points this December?

AAC basically giving us the benefit of the Tactical Doctrine and Assault Doctrine for two turns is, I think, really good. It may not be Uphold good, but I think it's better than the rest.

Yeah, that I think is the strongest part about it. The extra attacks in prolonged combats are just icing on that increased lethality cake.

Why flamers, do you think?

It's only a guess based on Pyreblasters being 10 points.
