Hwrd to fit in a marshall when I need to fill up those hq spots with chaplains and the EC... :sad.:

I have the opposite, I hardly ever have the champion in my lists because I like having marshals too much! Though to each their own I guess!

What are people generally liking for their crusader squads? I am having a hard time choosing between the auto bolt rifles on the initiates or going with a  Chainsword load out. These guys will be foot slogging it till I get enough money for a redeemer, or unless it is better to have them walk

You can have them Both.

Spread 50/50 or any desirable percentage throughout the squad.

On a side note in the bt codex the firstborn are actually called firstborn I don't know if gw had named firstborn like firstborn before in an official publication?

yea, that makes sense! I am adding two power fists to it anyways, so may as well have a few guns

Spear of the Emperor by Aaron Dembski-Bowden was the first use of it.

Unless you mean "official publication" by "army book" and not "Black Library novel"?

The term came from a BL novel, so I'm not surprised they adopted it.

I was looking at their Templar shoulder pads a while ago. Brexit kinda makes it an expensive hassle with a direct order, though now that I thought to check it does appear they have an eBay account... so if the items are there (seller is currently "away" so can't see any items) could get it that way since eBay handles the customs stuff etc. At that point it'd depend on shipping.

As a side note a bit of an odd thread to post that in :P

While cool, I still feel that feels more like a dark angel/sith lord, than a crusader.

I can understand why. But I dont think so. For me that is

It's just opinions.

But there has, afaik, never been a official hooded templar model to date, though people have been using such bits for their kits bashes since the olden days. (using DA bits, incidentally, hency why I feel I look at a kitbash whenever i see a hooded templar.)

Nothing I think should ever hinder anyone from getting any enjoyment from any of their modelling or how they perceive their templars. Hoods is a go for a lot of people.

Nothing official. In fact, the designers notes in 4th ed specifically tried to stay away from hoods, as they are more monastic, and hence Dark Angel in nature.

I only have two hoods. One because I bought my first batch of converted Deathwing knight terminators second hand, so couldn't remove the head which is baked in to one of the torsos. (When I did my own second batch, I gouged it out.)

The second is my Judiciar, but that's because hoods are very Executioner.

To me hoods just suggest inclimate weather.

You can tell you never served. One of the great ironies of the British armed forces is that everyone lusts for a jacket with a hood (known as a smock, for reasons which don't make sense anymore.), but we're never, never, allowed to wear the hood up. (Hoods impair visibility and affect stereo hearing.)

Helmets are waterproof after all.

What are people making of the 1CP Strat that makes a Core unit ObSec?

I am thinking of ditching the Infiltrator Squad I use to hold a Backline Objective, and just sticking a Gatling-Redemptor on it and popping the Strat whenever needed. It has decent range on weapons, so can still contribute further forward, and would be a pain to remove with the 5++ Vow.

Nah, I served and hoods (despite specifically mentioned in everything that mentions your kit) were never allowed to be used, but I've been out since 2013 and am not so daft to continue to do that now that I'm no longer serving. So enjoy the taste of foot I guess.

And my comment wasn't "military" focused but rather "middles ages" or has no one here heard of a cloak? You know, a common piece of apparel regardless of social class?

Seriously, a whole chapter of KNIGHTS and we're talking about equipment like they're the Guard? Really?

Bought this but I am almost afraid to take it off it’s “sprue” (it’s resin and you have to sort of peel it from the other pieces). Seems simple to put on though, just can’t picture how the chest piece goes on atm. Still, I am very excited to paint this!

In that case I take it back, and assure you no insult was intended. Edited by Brother Adelard
