I received the latest drop of combat patrol yesterday, that included the biker chaplain I needed to finish my terminator chaplain.

I also built an outrider captain out of the chaplain

It also included the free company champion, who also got built

The first part of the elder guardians was also included in the delivery, and the sprues got me thinking on how I might be able to build an eldar kill team out of it. I'll wait for the next delivery that includes the 2nd part of the guardians to commit to building them

I finished another last chancer today, here's Shiv, posing before his official portrait

And here is the team as it stands as of today

As I've already said, it's been a real joy working on these individuals after so many years of my mostly black marines

Your Last Chancers are absolutely great. Very characterful paintjobs. I've gotta say, these models didn't age well from a 'technical' view but, boy, aren't they great!

I think that their vibes are better than the new Kill Team Cadians fighting the Red Terror (whatever the name of the box is). I think that the new minis aimed at being characterful, unique guardsmen (and succeeded) but they're nowhere near these guys. And this comes from someone who's not nostalgic about the Last Chancer minis, too. I think that they're from a time before I've started.

Great Space Marine kitbashes, too. I liked how you repurposed the Chaplain and Captain and switched their roles to get unique minis. I think the plasma gun is a particularly nice touch.

I'm looking forward to seeing them painted.

For my part I've always been a fan of the last chancers since seeing them in my friends codex when I was about 13yo. I never read the books though.

My father had found them new in box at the Braderie de Lille one day but it was around a time when I was more about playing video games than painting so didn't get the chance to do them then.

Then almost all my minis were lost in my parent's house fire in 2013, but when I found them for about 80€ on ebay last year I couldn't pass on the occasion.

The plan was to use them as Deathkorps veterans in kill team, but after looking at the rules for the newly released spectre kill team, they seem to be a good fit too.

I cobbled together a vox relay from an old broken terminator teleport homer and the antennae from a cadian vox backpack, I'll try to post some pics this evening when I get home.

So it seems that they're a special set of minis, with a bit of a personal history behind them. This fact adds even more to the project.

I'm also extremely sorry to hear about the fire - that must've been a tremendous blow.

The vox relay looks great, too.
