space wolf
Its funny how much that actually does look like hand made porcaline! 1 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/364347-heraclites-hobby-thread/page/11/#findComment-6189478 Share on other sites
Rusted Boltgun
I somehow missed the updates to your thread, really liked the lightning on the Librarian's force axe. And so many great details on the Portuguese Marine! 1 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/364347-heraclites-hobby-thread/page/11/#findComment-6189519 Share on other sites
Dr_Ruminahui
Further kuddos on the porcelain marine - the flowers on the base are a nice counterpoint. 1 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/364347-heraclites-hobby-thread/page/11/#findComment-6189562 Share on other sites
Brother Christopher
I approve this. Quite a nice idea and good paint job. Very original, too. I've even shown your Marine to my missus and she enjoyed it, too. Particularly the rooster on the pauldron. 1 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/364347-heraclites-hobby-thread/page/11/#findComment-6189640 Share on other sites
Heraclite
My October completion for the 12 MoH is done. I'm finally on my way to achieve a completion for every month in the event, unlike every other year I participated in... Everything done between now and November is just extra credits! Here's my 3rd company infernus squad 4 2 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/364347-heraclites-hobby-thread/page/11/#findComment-6190134 Share on other sites
space wolf
These are nice. I particularly like the blackening effect on the flamers and the sgt's tilting shield. 1 1 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/364347-heraclites-hobby-thread/page/11/#findComment-6190195 Share on other sites
The Pounder
I almost missed the tilting shield, nice touch! Congrats on the excellent progress. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/364347-heraclites-hobby-thread/page/11/#findComment-6190251 Share on other sites
Heraclite
Yeah it was my first time painting flames. I'm happier with the flames coming from the dead termagant on the base but for a first it still looks ok Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/364347-heraclites-hobby-thread/page/11/#findComment-6190292 Share on other sites

Heraclite
Just finished my old school scout kill team. It really was a blast from the past as the metal scout squad was my 2nd ever warhammer box (after the obligatory tactical squad) and I think it was the first I bought myself 2 6 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/364347-heraclites-hobby-thread/page/11/#findComment-6190963 Share on other sites

Heraclite
Thanks for the kind words everyone! The weather was rather nice yesterday which allowed me to prime the mega armour Warboss. While waiting for it to dry before starting painting, I started building the first set of Ork Boyz (the second will drop next month) I also had an Ork body laying around and used it to build a rokkit boy I recently had a slight misshap on vinted. I had ordered a rather cheap terminator ancient. The seller messed up his orders and sent me a termi chaplain and asked me not to collect the order. I got reimbursed but he never put up the termi ancient for sale afterwards. So instead I found a cheap multi part terminator captain (got him for 20€!) and an old 8th edition ancient for 10€ just to get a banner. I received the termi captain yesterday and started building. As the original has as sheathed powersword. I had to give him one It came from the armageddon captain because he really didn't need one anymore after giving him an axe. I still gave him a replacement combat knife to take advantage of the nice straps the sheath originaly came with Another advantage of the multi part terminator captain was that it comes with 3 combi weapons. Which allowed me to turn some of the Armageddon intercessors into sternguard veterans 1 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/364347-heraclites-hobby-thread/page/11/#findComment-6191148 Share on other sites

Brother Christopher
Great classic scouts with a very classic colour scheme! This brings back fond memories of looking for inspiration in How to Paint Space Marines back in the day that 40k was more... approachable. And you've prepped a nice selection of fun projects, too. I think I'm most looking forward to the Orks but I'd lie if I said that I don't care about your Intercessors promoted to Sternguards. The kitbashes/weapons swaps are seamless. My only note is that in the last photo, the backpack banner is a bit too close to the chainsword and looks a bit off. It looks great from the front, though.
