More work done on Apothecary in Terminator Armor

 

 

 

 

 

I was going to paint the viles of around his waist as glass or attempt to, but I will be probably be painting them a metallic color as it seems more fitting as he is a Terminator anthos would be easily damaged. The vile on his back will  be done. I think I am going to paint the bag a different color as it is too much grey and needs to be broken up a little.

Looking at that old rogue trader art - the Sigmar insurgency scheme is nice, but man is the old howling griffon scheme a mess.  GW definitely improved it when it was simplified down to quarters.

 

I really like the scout, and your various termie builds are looking nice.

I fully endorse this project. Howling Griffons have a very cool paint scheme, something I'm eyeing myself. And the Apothecary is a nice kitbash, particularly the first. Excellent choice of bits and body; the pose works very well. One remark/criticism: there appears to be some distracting molten plastic/glue/other damage on the back of the lamp and targeter mount on the top of the armour.

Great now I can't unsee it.....thank you for pointing that out. Looks like he needs some Oath scrolls to cover that up or time to get an Apothecary for bits. 

 

Some more work done. 

 

First up I updated the yellow on my Scout Sgt. to the Army Painter Warpaints Fanatic/ John Blanche Master Class: Moonbeam Yellow and followed it up with Varnish and then John Blanche Master Class: Grimdark Shadow.

 

 

 

 

 

 

I then returned to the Apothecary blocking out the reds and doing touch ups then painting the base with Vallejo Neutral Grey, Army Painter Warpaint Fanatic Gun Metal and Skeleton bone then given the same treatment as Scout Sgt.

Really like the effect grim dark shadows has on the vivid yellow and red and the use of the old sheathed combat blade for your scout.

 

For the apothecary, I'd suggest a highlight with a light grey to bring it closer to the customary white livery, but not too white as it would kind of ruine the grimdark effect.

 

They're both looking very nice, by the way.

yeah that Grim Dark shadows is such a good wash.  I need to order more. 

I have a huge bits box of scout parts from the previous versions, I built 2 all Scout Raptor armies in previous editions, when you could. Both are gone. One of my favorite images was this Imperial Fist Scout 

 

 

so I tried to pay homage to him.

 

I still have to do all the highlights  on both so the apothecary will be a lighter grey but not white.  Then another clear coat and decals from the Mighty Brush/ @LutherMax 

 

They got here supper quick too!

Back from a small vacation and did some painting yesterday

 

First up is Celestian Insidiant Superior as part of  12 MoH Campaign

 

 

 

 

While wash was drying I started on the Terminator LT. 

 

 

 

I also went back to my Terminator Apothecary with starting to highlight colors that I was using on the LT

 

 

Also Belial (New Captain) arrived, Dice should arrive today. I also ordered some more Army Painter paints, both Iron Hands named Characters for custom Terminator Techmarine, and a Land Raider.

Thanks, @The Pounder, I am getting through some painting now. I have an 3 day unplugged vacation in a cabin with the wife in a few weeks and I may be bringing some models to work on. I need to build some Terminators (only 20 or so)  and another Scout Squad plus the rest of my Celestian Insidiants Kill Team.

Howling Griffons Apothecary in Terminator armor

 

 

 

 

 

Base is done, minus painting sludge. I need to weather and apply damage to him.

Lesson Learned: Howling Griffon Decal is hard to see so I now know to lighten the reds and yellows to make decal pop.

Started working on Chapter Heraldry and painting stormbolters black. Chaplain needs some highlights, touch ups, Grimdark Shadow wash and his base repainted and almost done. Librarian Needs a more work but have to clear coat him to wash the runes.

thank you…years of painting Sisters of Battle and army painter master class grim dark shadows wash makes it super easy.

After a horrible day of work Monday.........normal shift 0445-1345. On Call phone 1645 because of issue at work due to employee laziness. On Call phone call due to Fire Suppression Discharge and building evacuation 2215 hours. On Site in less than 10 minutes. Left work at 1300 Tuesday.....with 1 hr of sleep. I was exhausted and only did a little build.
