And I am very happy with their Triad system. I used the Cool Red triad for cloak, grenade, Fist and Watch Company marking, Warm Skin triad for skin, Warm grey & White for white ring around fist, squad #, and wings on chest, Deep Green for grenade, and Strong pale Blue for shoulder pad minus final highlight, and started inner cloak and purity seal with Light Neutrals with the first coat of dust skulls. I used inks on his silver arm, not sure if I am going to stick with inks on body or use Army Painter Washes 3 hours ago, INKS said: Been waiting years on new grey knights. The turnaround with how mediocre their first line of paint was (in my opinion) and how good the new line is is wild. Aside from my Votann, all of my armies use Army Painter's new line of paints now. The metallic Speedpaint in particular is so fun to use as a base coat that I have already built one robot army and am currently in the process of building another, just for the chance to use different combos. "Knives in the Shadow" Vow made: Exorcists Chapter, Angels of Death "12 Months of Hobby Challenge" January Vow and well this happened..... From Magnet Baron From Taro Modelmaker and from Elrik's Hobbies The plan is to match this paint scheme (my version of House Steel from Forgeworld Deimos) for my Knight from the Freeblade video game. So with the Deathwatch, the Armigers, and eventual Knights getting Trench bases. I understand that; it's great that you still manage to get some hobby time, though! You seem to be using Army Painter paints more often. Overall, how do you find their current lines? My experience is that their washes are amazing but the 'regular paints' not so much: the few I had had poor coverage and quickly became gooey but that was years ago - I expect that they've changed a lot since then. From the adverts and reviews I've skimmed, their 'fanatic' line appears to be particularly appealing. From the adverts and reviews I've skimmed, their 'fanatic' line appears to be particularly appealing. I had the same issues with their previous lines as you had. Now the Fanatic line I have had no issues, (yet). Also I have more stores carrying larger selections of Army painter than GW so it is more convenient for me to grab at a board gaming store that has a good selection of Army painter paints but the small racks of GW that is not really restocked near work. The paint droppers come with mixing balls already in them and the triad method is quick and easy to use, with wet pallet. Andrea Miniatures- Red, black, and yellow paint sets Andrea miniatures is a 6 bottle set consists of a base, 2-3 highlights and usually 2 shades (sometimes 3). Paints are usually really think and have to be thinned and for full effect mixed with previous color. The 2 major issues are they are super thick and will blow the top out of the dropper bottle, hard to find, and well the white base is not sold separately or i have not found it yet. Army Painter Warpaints Fanatic Triad: Cool Reds, Strong Pale Blues, and Warm Greys and Whites Andrea miniatures paint starts as base and you have to highlight then shade the areas. Fanatic starts at the shade and works your way up to the final highlight. I feel the colors were smoother and did not need as much dilution. And if I run out of color I multiple places to pick up a new pot of paint at. Gun metal, and then hit with gloss varnish- 3 models I started the FW acrylic ink into recesses. started the red process on the other models…. need to do a matte varnish then brush on gloss varnish to prep for decals but need to get his other arm done before that. ZeroWolf
I think the fallout from chapterhouse still lingers there. If there was no 3rd parties making models/stls to fit datasheets like that, i bet you'd find they'd be willing. Those marines are coming on a treat, that red is such a good colour.
