WAR
More Daemon Hunters!!!!!!!!!!!! My last Blog post I talked about being a fan of the Exorcist Chapter of Space Marines, and I have never painted one.....until now. I plan on building and painting them as a boarding action team, and Kill Team (I love SCOOOOOUTS) and small 1500 pt army. The paint plan Head- Wraithbone Body- Chaos black all but the head Rub and Buff Silver Clear coat and decals (Standard Space marine I decal, and Betrayal at Calth decals Helmet- Daler-Rowney FW Acrylic Sepia ink Eyes- P3 White (Old pot still better than GW) and Army Painter Fanatic Data System Glow Body- Blood Angel Contrast Shoulder Pads and flex tubing- Black Templar Contrast Crux Terminatus and Purity Seals- Wraitbone and Skeleton Horde COntrast Storm Bolter- Black Corvus Black, Leadblecher, and runefang brass Chest Eagle- Rub and buff All over wash (not helmet)- Agra Earthshade Sensors- P3 White and Army Painter Fanatic Data System Glow Purity seals- gw green (i need to wash them was trying to use contrast and didn't like it) sponge weathering with Iron Warriors, Lead belcher, and storm host silver Still need some touch ups, more green on eyes and basing. Lessons learned apply decals after initial coats of paint then add light coating. Some completely disappeared. Terminatorinhell
Loving the metallic red. Long ago there was a guy named I think Danmetcalfe here who used the old citadel washes over a metallic base coat to do a similar effect. Now with contrast paints I think it comes out more easily and smoother. WAR and Firedrake Cordova 2 Back to top
Firedrake Cordova
Nice work. What made you use that silver over something like Vallejo Metal Colour silver? WAR 1 Back to top
WAR
Nice work. What made you use that silver over something like Vallejo Metal Colour silver? It was a technique I saw when Betrayal at Calth came out and I was gonna do Word Bearers. I did a Vallejo Silver base on my Order of Valorous Heart Sisters and it is more steps, gloss black coat primer, Vallejo Silver airbrush and then Contrasts INKS 1 Back to top
Firedrake Cordova
Fair enough. If I'm honest, I struggle to see the difference between silver over regular black primer, and the gloss black one (I have a bunch of Kairic Acolyte shields I sprayed as a test), but that could be just me Edited September 12 by Firedrake Cordova WAR 1 Back to top
WAR
The only difference IMHO is how much more pain in the spraying gloss black is over matte black via airbrush or rattle can primer. So yeah Gloss Black < Regular black More Exorcists bulit Dr_Ruminahui, Rusted Boltgun, Firedrake Cordova and 1 other 4 Back to top
