Excellent work on the Taurox transports. I like the fact you moved the missile launchers from the roof (where the missiles will impact the turret if they fire forwards, but are unable to fire elsewhere, as the launchers can't traverse) to the turret sides.

Yeah, kept the missile launcher off because its just not worth it in-game (2 krak missiles vs a gatling cannon, gatling wins) and I didn't want to magnetize the roof and moved the side-mounted autocannons/volley guns to the turret- the decision to  mount weapons behind hatches that are troop exits baffles me. I know if I was un-assing out of the side and got fragged by my own suppressing fire because the gunner had to shot around me, I would be pissed. Having them on the turret just makes more sense to me.

Ref: Agent Acquisition Issues

Thought for the Day: Our sins burn in the light of His Regard.

My Inquisitor,

Most profuse apologies. It seems that one of your targets for acquisition as an Agent of the Throne perhaps has more complications than originally noted.

The target, Markos of Septumas VII hive, appears to be a member of an unknown group. During the latest round of observation, just prior to the point of contact/recruitment, Markos was observed interacting with an unknown individual. This interaction was not part of his normal bounty hunting activities per past observation, and the individual in question has enough similarities to Markos in terms of augmentation and appearance that it was deemed appropriate to observe more closely.

Unfortunately, after trailing the targets to what we now assume is a safe house, our observer was unable to gather further vox-pic images- a data-phage destroyed the memsphere of his vox-pictor. His report states that within the safe house he confirmed a minimum of four individuals, including Markos, though more seemed to be present given the ration packs he viewed. The observer withdrew to contact higher authorities given this new variable, and after contact a secure contact-team was dispatched. The contact team found the safe house abandoned, all parties had disappeared.

Once again my Inquisitor, I apologize. I believed Markos would be a valuable member of your retinue but was unaware of any organization that he was part of. I will dispatch more observers and trackers to locate Markos and this group- they will not escape the Inquisition!

Attached are the few pic-images that were recovered from the primary observer. These depict the individual that contacted Markos, currently codenamed "Little Sister" due to the greeting that Markos was overheard giving her. As with Markos, we can see multiple augmentations across her frame, though as of yet our Tech-Priest contacts are unable to provide any definitive Forge World pattern. They may be bespoke or proprietary technologies, but we are investigating further.

Good job on "Little Sister." The armor looks Tau; is that intentional?

Somewhat intentional, this will be a Xenos warband that follows a Radical Xenos Inquisitor, using forbidden tech will not be unusual for them. I've got a couple more individual characters coming for the band, plus some Delaque gangers with puppetswar.eu heads that will serve as secondary members.

The main thematic idea for them is based off of the manga/anime series Sunabouzu (Desert Punk), which I enjoy for the aesthetics.

I thought she was based on Clive Lee, a hunter-warrior in Gunnm (licensed in the US as Battle Angel Alita)- alternatively, on Zeiram.

Good to know I'm not the only otaku here.

Thought for the Day: Those that seek Him in pride leave in ignorance.

My Inquisitor,

We have managed to locate a cell of Inquisitor Davian's agents. This cell seems to be currently without specific instructions as they have only been observed training, praying, and performing everyday maintenance to their weapons/equipment. We are now tentatively classifying this cell as members of Davian's terror-squad, the members of which are used in his typical bombastic assaults on covens and sects. Their weaponry appears to consist mainly of melee weapons- various chainblades, heavy axes/mauls, and close-support weaponry like flamers/pistols are in abundance.

The current pic-images are of the Faithful, a former member of one of Davian's Redemptionist cults that has managed to carve his way into the Inquisitor's good graces and survived to join the terror-squad. There is little information about this particular agent, his background is of a hive-ganger turned fanatic, and his only discernable talents are piety and carnage.

As ever, we will do our best to discover more information about this, and any other, member of Davian's retinue.

The last four members of Davian's terror-squad are assembled and ready for priming. Hoping to knock these guys out in the next ten days, but right now I'm happy with the head swaps and minor conversions. Looking forward to having the full six-member terror-squad up and running!

Thought for the Day: The Inquisition is the moral imperative of the Imperium.

My Inquisitor,

We have been able to capture more pic-recordings of a member of Davion's terror-squad. We are still in the process of finding background information on these men- as of now we can only offer conjecture based on their weaponry and wargear.

The conclusion we have from this subject's equipment is that he was most likely a bodyguard, or perhaps hired blade, for a low-level Imperial noble or trading guild. The heavy bolter he wields has no distinct factorum markings and has been heavily customized, including a preysight link to his helm. The power weapon seems to be a variant of a Necromundan Goliath mk IV poweraxe, unfortunately quite widely available through many legitimate markets. Like other members of the current terror-squad we are investigating, the subject is a veteran of battle and while his physical conditioning looks to have lapsed somewhat, due to the reputation of the terror-squad for decisive violence any interaction should be looked on as a high-threat situation.

My primary agents have communicated to me that they have pic-images coming that will soon give us a look at the remaining four members of the terror-squad. I will endeavor to forward them to you as quickly as I am able.

Thought for the Day: One eye blind is better than two eyes deceived

My Inquisitor,

Our investigation into the bounty hunter Markos and his mysterious companions has been resolved, though not without losses among your agents. I will provide a brief summary below and will be personally accompanying my primary intelligence assets to you for a full briefing.

Approximately four days ago agents who were tasked with finding the unknown group were able to find a suspected safehouse in an isolated hab, in a low-hive dome. The intelligence agents called in a local stormtrooper support team to assault and capture the targets. The stormtrooper squad assaulted the building within two hours of the call- the team lost over half its members to debilitating, but non-fatal wounds immediately upon the assault element breaching the hab. The covering stormtroopers were also subdued, without injury, by ranged members of the target group.

The stormtroopers and our intelligence agents were gathered and interrogated; after divulging their Inquisitorial authority they were politely informed that the targets were also members of the Inquisition. Both sides stood down and I was given instructions on how to contact this "warband" and gain their particulars.

I apologize most profusely my Lord, for failing to take this possibility into account. I had assumed, wrongly as it turned out, that we had stumbled upon an especially adept group of criminals, a heretical cult, or even a possible Arbites operation, but did not believe that another Inquisitor would be behind these folk. After consulting with a delegation of their members, I have checked with Sector Headquarters and verified their identity. We have been trailing a warband of Inquisitor Cypha Ly, Ordo Xenos. Inquisitor Ly will be happy to meet with you when he arrives in system, but forwarded his complements and your intelligence assets' ability to find his retinue members.

As for the member of Inquisitor Ly's warband, I have attached the following pic-recordings. In the first two pics, we have the full set of primary agents while the latter two pics contain more images of the two members that we had not yet identified. As we have discovered with the two previous agents (Markos and Codename: Little Sister), both these agents have very extensive augmetic modifications and expensive wargear. Wargear known to be used include multiple plasma weaponry (from Markos' rifle to the others' hidden plasma pistols), power weapons (in the form of swords), and an abundance of knives and other small close-combat weaponry.

From left- Markos (known as "the Wanderer" to the warband), Niks Twin-eye (the green augmetics in his "helmet" are in fact visual recorders), Syvara, and Xi. All appear to be very adept at close combat, while their secondary agents (and Markos) provide ranged firepower when needed.

I will make haste to your location to give you a fuller briefing as soon as possible

Now on the board, because I can't apparently finish a warband before starting another one, is a WIP of a Radical Malleus warband. The idea of this band is that they are accompanying an aged Malleus Inquisitor whose body is breaking down, beyond what Imperial science can extend. He begins to use increasingly dangerous and frowned-upon methods to extend his life- justifying everything he does as for the good of the Imperium. My thought-concept of the Inquisitor is to take an Invictor Warsuit and convert the pilot section to a life-support tank, with masses of cables and other doo-dads all over it. As an aside, I'm loving the Warcry models, they (and Necromunda gangs/weapon upgrade packs) are providing me a hell of a lot warband members and conversion fodder.

Here are the first four members of the warband- I most likely won't paint them for a while, as I got a Corvus Blackstar and another Taurox Prime from my Xmas haul to build and paint. These were just something to keep me busy tonight :D

b4EBkad.jpg

Working in my Xmas haul- Blackstar counts-as Valkyrie Inquisition transport almost finished, waiting on some heavy bolters to show up so I can put them in the blackstar launchers. I enjoyed adding the augur array to the second lascannon slot, but carving off the Deathwatch crossbones on the Inquisition emblem sucked. Can't wait to paint it though, it'll be my first Flyer ever!

Last models of 2020, two of the ranged/backup members of the Ordo Xenos team. Not really worth a write-up, as they aren't really unique conversions or fun character-types, but worth a couple of pics. I hate the Delaque arms- they are posed in the weirdest way possible to hold such forward-heavy weapons! They all look like their wrists are about to break. I'm feeing that I may have to bend/cut/replace/start Greenstuffing arms if I do any more of these guys.

On a final note for the year, I put in an order for more Solar Auxilia, so I'll have 1 lasrifle section, 2 volkite storm sections (counts-as plasmaguns), and 2 more command sections to round out my infantry for my 2k force. Got another Taurox coming, so I'll have all the vehicles as well, and I'll be looking to paint them all up in the next few months (when I'm not finishing up my Harlequins or starting on my Warhound), so there will be some full army pics coming in the future. Anyway, thanks for looking and I hope you all have a great new year!

Puppetswar heads- they fit pretty well without any major issues.

Edit- Interestingly enough, this is the third or fourth time I've had the Tusken Raider comparison, several from in-person comments and another couple from various discord convos. Didn't really go for that, but I don't mind at all! :D

WIP- Ordo Xenos Interrogator. He will be the "face" of the warband, being the only one without a helmet or mask. Tried my hand at sculpting by making a rosette for him, I think it works alright. Looking forward to trying to sculpt more, painting this guy, and getting his master....

Thought for the Day: Heresy shows in the most devout as well as the most corrupt, trust no one.

My Inquisitor,

I have met with Inquisitor Cypha Ly's Interrogator, a man named Slyss. Just like the others of Ly's warband that we have encountered, Slyss is extremely augmented, with what looks to be a full visual and facial reconstruction as well as multiple other internal organ replacements (according to our tech-priest's scans). Interrogator Slyss is considered to be his master's voice, as Inquisitor Ly is apparently suffering from an unknown but persistent malady.

Inquisitorial records we have unearthed have given some slight background to Slyss and Ly's warband. It appears that Slyss was recruited some forty years ago out of the Valarian hives. Some twenty various gangers, hive scum, enforcer investigators, and noble body-wards were taken by Ly during that period. Many were given extensive augmentation, including nerve enhancement, implanted disguise protocols, and mental boosting. This is the core of Ly's current warband- hardened hive fighters and investigators that are well used to the rigors of undercover operations. Indeed, the five year undercover stint of Markos shows that Ly's warband are prepared to go underground for significant amounts of time without any discernable backup or instruction. This method of independent operations makes Ly's retinue very different and much more dangerous than Inquisitors such as Davian, who keep their agents under tight control and frequently use disposable cut outs to achieve distractions.

The following images are of Slyss and the three agents who escorted him to our meeting.

Working on my remaining Solar Auxilia (will probably start airbrushing them this weekend) and just got the heavy bolters to transform my Corvus Blackstar into the Corvus Stiletto gun-cutter (Valkyrie count-as). The gun-cutter is now primed, but I will most likely wait to have it be my painting project for the next month of the 12 Months of Hobby '21.

Excellent work on your Inquisitorial warband(s). This is my first look at it, and I'm very impressed with the unique designs and attention to detail. The narrative adds marvelous atmosphere to your displays. I'm definitely looking forward to seeing and reading more. Keep up the good work:thumbsup:
