Thanks so much! Lock down has been good for one thing at least. And I’d recommend getting a figure, especially as they don’t break the bank. I’m currently trying to work out how to make a box magazine for the bolt rifle out of plasticard!

I much prefer the shorter Bolter, are you going to add the handguard detail back to the front bit?

Shoulder pad and Cruz look really good too...

Yeah the grip on the bolter is tricky... the purity seal is so big it covers the end, so if i want to add the grip grooves back in, I'd have to make them myself. Might be able to using plasticard to make a border or something. I'll have a play!

Decided to relook at the FW bolter as I still cant cope with the size of the McFarlane one... even chopped in half its just huge

The FW one looks so much better in proportion, but the grip is too small, so I stuck some plasticard together and filed it into shape

It fits so much better...

Yeah I’ve already contemplated the idea of chopping the mag off and making it into a heavy bolt pistol but the nostalgia off the old FW version has me imagining it as a relic bolter handed down for centuries.... I don’t want everything to be fresh off the line

Shaped up the left hand shoulder pad with some green stuff to match the trim more closer to the sternguard shoulder pad I'm going for

Will need to see how this comes out once its sprayed, and if the green stuff is smoothed off enough

  • 2 weeks later...

Just got one of these for Xmas- out of the blue as I don't have any Primaris at all, and I'm using this thread as inspiration for a Dark Angels (Heresy-era paint scheme to match my DA) lad. Thanks for the awesome work so far!
