the-crimson-dorn
Thanks so much! Lock down has been good for one thing at least. And I’d recommend getting a figure, especially as they don’t break the bank. I’m currently trying to work out how to make a box magazine for the bolt rifle out of plasticard! StratoKhan
I much prefer the shorter Bolter, are you going to add the handguard detail back to the front bit? Shoulder pad and Cruz look really good too... Yeah the grip on the bolter is tricky... the purity seal is so big it covers the end, so if i want to add the grip grooves back in, I'd have to make them myself. Might be able to using plasticard to make a border or something. I'll have a play! the-crimson-dorn
The back side of the bolter has a knotch cut-out at the front, so will need to fill this with greenstuff Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/368045-mcfarlane-space-marine-crimson-fist-wip/page/2/#findComment-5643216 Share on other sites

Naryn
Fortunately, it's supposed to be that long And I find it ridiculously oversized Aren't mutually exclusive statements ;) Nice work filling the gaps in the bolter! the-crimson-dorn
Added some plasticard on the grip and some flat sections on the body which I’ll paint as marble and add some gold studs WAR, Raztalin and Brother-Chaplain Kage 3 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/368045-mcfarlane-space-marine-crimson-fist-wip/page/2/#findComment-5643428 Share on other sites
the-crimson-dorn
Decided to relook at the FW bolter as I still cant cope with the size of the McFarlane one... even chopped in half its just huge The FW one looks so much better in proportion, but the grip is too small, so I stuck some plasticard together and filed it into shape It fits so much better... Size comparison... the-crimson-dorn
Yeah I’ve already contemplated the idea of chopping the mag off and making it into a heavy bolt pistol but the nostalgia off the old FW version has me imagining it as a relic bolter handed down for centuries.... I don’t want everything to be fresh off the line Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/368045-mcfarlane-space-marine-crimson-fist-wip/page/2/#findComment-5644084 Share on other sites
Naryn
Honestly bolters are oversized as-is, i like that the FW one gives you a more realistic scale. Is that one of the Drop Pod aquilas on it? the-crimson-dorn
Shaped up the left hand shoulder pad with some green stuff to match the trim more closer to the sternguard shoulder pad I'm going for Will need to see how this comes out once its sprayed, and if the green stuff is smoothed off enough Grotsmasha and Brother Pheidias 2 Back to top Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/368045-mcfarlane-space-marine-crimson-fist-wip/page/2/#findComment-5644462 Share on other sites

Lord_Ikka
Just got one of these for Xmas- out of the blue as I don't have any Primaris at all, and I'm using this thread as inspiration for a Dark Angels (Heresy-era paint scheme to match my DA) lad. Thanks for the awesome work so far!
