I'm excited and maybe a bit wary.

All of my HH purchases and building will be on hold until the release.

Scale creep is only a minor issue and can be fixed if you model your figures on top of rubble/bit of terrian/etc.

Scale

I did some quick pixel measurements of the WarCom photo, converted them to mm using the base for scale, and some minis. The WarCom photo yields a toe-to-head height of approximately of 35 mm. This puts it as 2-3 mm taller than Tactical Marines and about 3 cm shorter than Tortuga (will vary depending on how one seats the helmet in the torso), and 5 mm shorter than Primaris marines.

TL;DR

  • New marines will be slightly taller (by a factor of about 1.1), roughly the same as tall-scale conversions (adding one 2 mm or two 1 mm spacers to the legs).

  • New marines are noticeably shorter than Primaris.

EDIT: Did this for the NR&A thread, adding it here, too. They'll be around the same of the Dark Angel, maybe a bit shorter.

Have it on good authority from a friend that was in attendance that they've stated launch will be focused on the Legiones Astartes - further rules support for Mechanicum, Imperialis Militia and so forth will come later on.

Running through further updates;

  • "everything in the boxset is in the trailer, but not everything in the trailer is in the boxset"
  • hinted that a Corrupted Horus model is coming soon-ish, but didn't comment directly (lines up with Simon Egan's plans)
  • WH+ may do a HH series - no firm commitments. Flagged it would be a waste if they didn't as they already have animation-ready models and so forth.

Nothing yet on the book supplements?

Not sure if anyone's pointed out the kratos has the legions astartes rules. Might be interesting.

And yea, the crusade and heresy admin is having a meltdown.

matches with the legion rule leaks we've had so far, e.g the iron hands one specifying vehicles get a 6+ IWND rather than the -1 str on incoming shots

That's good, I like that they're tailored for different unit types, kind of like the Raven guard rules. Prevents wonkyness like an army of infiltrating dreads.

I'm very excited (and pleasantly surprised) that the Adepticon previews included HH 2.0.

For those that are familiar with the lore, is the Praetor that was previewed locked into being a Sons of Horus character because of the coins on the model? Are the coins Cthonian or would a repaint of the model with a head and backpack swap be sufficient to have it be used for another legion?

It looks like he's able to be generic, as the shoulderpad uses a decal I think.

Swapping the head out for the helmeted option will be handy there as well.

I think in the video, I thought I saw a smaller one-handed axe, so I wonder if there'll be some options there as well.

OK, not gonna lie but this profile looks very juicy.

Vehicle (Reinforced)

So, a new vehicle type. Maybe this ignores the effects of sunder or downgrades things on the damage table? Or maybe its a 'super heavy' replacement?

We already have that in the, albeit, extremely nerfed Malcador. Or the Spartan. By the time you load this up for bear you're looking at a ~400pt model which makes it compete with super heavies.

It's also....very susceptible to melta. Something most heavily armoured tanks aren't.

Honestly, I'm curious to see if Armored Ceramite survives into the new edition tbh.

I for one am feeling pretty happy at vehicles getting LA since it means bolter and auto weapons on the platforms are getting +1 BS for being IF (aka Autocannons on Deredeos, Sicarans, etc.)

jaxom your latest scale assessment has me relieved, I was sweating thinking the new models were nearly truscale and what this meant for my tiny dudes on 25mm bases

The 32 mm bases are taller. Rebasing the older minis does a lot to help.

I'm interested in what resin kits they are porting over to plastic, we know the Contemptor dread is moving over and pixels point to the Spartan moving over. They have some sort of Deimos in CAD from the SoB stuff, so could move them over as well. What else would likely to be moved over? Sicaran variants? Proteus Land Raider?

Breachers.

*snort* I wish the Malcador had av14, might have a use then other than showing which players havent read the FAQ :(

Yup, glad ceramite is gone or restricted, went into depth a few pages back but mostly its gamey as heck

Very very slightly taller sure, like 1mm or less? Bigger bases do look better because they give you a bit of room around the feet, not because they literally elevate :)
