Yep, Holger has Security and Draak has solid Tech-Use, so you should be OK there.

 

@Beren: To be honest, once you have Quick Draw (which all Marines do) I don't think Arm Mounting does anything except lower your Range. If you want the Hand Flamer, feel free to just take it and fluff it as arm-mounted. :)

 

Or, if you really want to be precise, go ahead and take the Arm Mount. I've played fast and loose with the Renown requirements for several other players' equipment choices, so it would be harsh to not let you have yours (especially given that it's strictly speaking a downgrade! :D)

I have nothing else I desperately need so I will either get a melta bomb or give 10 points towards required group gear like a breaching shear.

Just remember folks, Kraken Penetrator cost 15 Req as per the FAQ, not 5 as in the book.

 

Also bear in mind that magazines for Bolt pistols cost half Req.

I am putting an Auspex on the shopping list as I don’t think anybody else has and it sounds useful. Brynjarr is probably not the best to carry and/or use it, so if somebody else want it feel free to have it. Also how much Req is it?

12 for a regular auspex (15 as a bionic)

 

But there is also the siege auspex for 13 req (rites of battle). It's shorter range (20m instead of 50) but can scan through dense materials to locate the best place to plant meltabombs, hidden power conduits and passageways, and things behind bulkheads that would block a normal auspex.

I've been watching youtube videos of Ready or Not - I think AT makes a sound call :tongue.:

 

So Vesalius is packing bulkhead shears, Tech-Use goes on Intelligence, and AT already has the Locus Seeker.  Unless anyone beats INT53, I could carry it as I don't have much room for anything else?

Would it make sense to have one of each considering where we are going. The regular one can tell us how many genestealer blips are moving in on us and the siege can tell us what we will find behind secret bulkhead. Edited by Trokair

I don't think it would hurt, or at least the second Auspex I mean.

 

The Genestealers, however will be exceptionally painful.

 

EDIT: Damn it Tro, now you've gone and made me paranoid about Stealers.  I was thinking Admech and Skitarii, Ruststalkers etc.

 

Now I have to worry about Bio-engineered, double-dodge, double Agility, heavily armoured, scuttling gribblies.

Since Orphiel is bring the Siege Auspex Brynjarrs shopping list right now is:
  • Auspex - 12 Req - still free to be held by anybody who can use it better than he
  • Maybe one or two Melta bombs for places that the bulkhead sheers can’t open (how much req and who is best places to use them?)
  • Frag & Krak Grenades – some number to fill out unspent Req (up to the limit of 15 total grenades that Lys has perviously set for Brynjarr)

I don't think(?) anyone beats 53, but Draak does have Int44 and Tech-Use (+10 in fact) so doesn't have to halve his Characteristic for Skill Tests?

Sorry Mazer, between the talk of the ship, the talk of auspex and such Space Hulk (the game, not the thing, we know the Pride isn’t) and its blip tokens came to mind, moving ever inwards.

 

I can't rmember where exactly we are on the timeline, are Nids a thing yet?

Tech Use is an advanced skill, and Orphiel doesn't have it Trained, so he can't do a tech Use test anyway.  The Auspex states that the user "may make" a Tech Use test, thereby allowing anyone to use it without the skill.  That's how I read it anyway, as otherwise nobody would take the thing.

 

If I take the Siege Auspex, I'll have to borrow 10 Req, (cheers Tro) because if there are Stealers, we need Hellfire Bolts, and I get them 60 at a time...

EDIT 2:  Svelk is your boy for the Melta bombs.  He's got Demolitions, and without that, you can't use the bombs.

@MR - Although without Tech-Use your 53 Int is 26!

Ah, OK, that's very interesting and makes much more sense!!! :D

 

So Auspex lets you make the test regardless, as opposed to stuff like a Combi-tool which gives a + modifier but would require you to have the Skill in the first place?
