With the Plasma gunner down Brynjarr refocused on the next target of concern that he could actually hurt, the Multi-Melta. Taking it down would also help if they had to fall back, as it might reduced the opponents ability to breach bulkheads.

Latched onto the ceiling, Svelk watches the battle unfold, the last of his bodged-together demo charges erupting and scoring through the attacker's armour. He lets out a soft grunt of approval as the plasma gunner is caught in the crossfire between Vesalius' ambush and an enfilade from Decimus and Brynjarr, and is torn to pieces. The move does however leave Vesalius momentarily exposed, two of the tactical marines splitting off to try and eliminate the flanking Iron God.

For a second, Svelk eyes the multi-gunner. A vital target, surrounded by more than amble defenders. No. Draw them off, kill them piece by piece. Force them to compromise their formation further or risk having krak grenades coming up their rears.

Almost languidly, Svelk unfolds. He drops to the floor, and takes off running. At the rim of his peripheral vision, he can see the other attackers begin to turn, weapons swivelling towards him. One of the marines he approaches starts to turn. Too slow. His axe-rake raises in the air, before swinging down.

I'm pretty sure that Svelk can just about make his 15 charge distance to Bone 5. If not, he uses his jump pack.

Charge Action at Bone Tactical 5

Pilot (Personal) if required for jump pack use:

d100: 28  vs Ag 44

Melee Attack

Round 1 Summary Cont.

[x] Svelk: Charge Bone 5, Hit on (39=93) Left Leg
Dodge Roll: 77, Fail.
Dam 14 - TB8 - AV6(8-Pen2) = 0 Wounds suffered.

[x] Terminators A
Red 1 calls for Bolter Assault at a cost of 3CP, 5 Remaining.
All Charge Move west. Red 1, 3, 4, 5 would fire SAB, but even rolling max Dam, they can't penetrate Force Dome (max 19 +Pen8 = 27 -AV14 -minAV7 -minTB8 = -2), so I'm not going to waste my time rolling it!

Regular Actions: All Full Move west. (Still same problem for shooting… I flipping hate Force Dome…

Next turn!!!)

[x] Tactical B:
Sustain Immovable Defence.
Green 6: SAB at Svelk.
BS45 +10(SAB) +10(Short Range) +10(ImmDef) -20(Engaged) = 55, Roll: 42, Hit on (42=24) Left Arm
Edit: Presumably want to Dodge the 2 Hits from Green 8 instead, so:
Dam 1d10+9 Tearing Pen8
(4,2) +9 = 13 - TB8 - AV1(9-Pen8) = 4 Wounds suffered.

Green 8: SAB at Svelk.
BS45 +10(SAB) +10(Short Range) +10(ImmDef) -20(Engaged) = 55, Roll: 32, Hit with 2 DoS, 2 hits. Dodge Success with no DoS, 1 Hit. Dam 1d10+9 Tearing Pen8
(6,1) +9 = 15 - TB8 - AV1(9-Pen8) = 6 Wounds suffered (10 in total).

Green 9:
Multi-melta at Decimus:
BS45 +10(ImmDef) = 55, Roll: 43, Hit.
Dodge?

Green 0: SAB at Svelk.
BS45 +10(SAB) +10(Short Range) +10(ImmDef) -20(Engaged) = 55, Roll: 74, Miss.

Once we resolve those Dodges and any Damage, Round 1 Ends.

Stand by for Round 2 Post and Map.

Dodge Roll: d100 = 35 out of 44

Svelk swerves as he makes his approach, shots from several other marines going wide. One smashes into his arm. The axe falls, rebounding of his target's leg, but his other hand has already withdrawn his bolt pistol, and he lets the rebounding motion carry the axe-rake to reclamp into his armour, his now freed gauntlet reaching for his knife.

Dam 2d10 +16 Pen12
Hit on (43=34) Body

Round 1 Ends

The carefully aimed melta blast strikes Decimus centre mass. It should be a killing blow, even against an Astartes, but the force barrier raised by Odysseus robs it of just enough of its power as it lances through. It is nevertheless a grievous wound.

With a vox-amplified bestial roar, Vesalius grasped the handles of the bulkhead shears hanging from his chest harness and launched himself at the Angels of Redemption like a terrible predator from Terra's grim and ancient past. Orphiel led with a feint, but his whilst his opponent appeared to be fooled, a quick and canny flick of the wrist batted the blade away.

8+7+13+2+2 +2 = 34 - TB8 - AV1(8-Pen7) = 20 Wounds suffered, 5 Critical Damage.

For a moment it seems certain that your blade will strike home into Narakiel's scarred face. Then, with a speed that should be impossible from so vast a bulk, the Crozius rises and effortlessly blocks the attack. For a moment you may get a sense of what mortals feel when faced with the speed of the Astartes. Then the maul swings on, out, around and into a vicious low arc that connects against the side of your right knee. There is an explosion of agony in the joint, stemmed a moment later by a cooling tide of analgesics from your armour, but you instinctively know the limb has been heavily damaged, if not utterly ruined. You drop back to the other knee, the deck beneath you strewn with the jagged splinters of Zachariah's Steel.

The High Interrogator looks down at you; hatred still twisting his gaunt features. He raises his sceptre of office up above his head. Then it begins to fall, with all the weight of Tactical Dreadnought Armour behind it and the strength of burning contempt and black suspicion driving it downwards.

With precise swordsmanship that might seem very familiar to you, the Angels Veteran calmly catches Grond's haft with his blade and deftly directs the force of the blow away. Then, like a striking serpent, he lashes out, driving a riposte in towards Draak's leg. The many bionics within the Devastator's greave turn the sword aside, but a gush of dark oil bursts forth and sizzles against its powered edge.

The Primarch made him strong, the Iron Fathers of his Chapter made him resilient, tough and clad him in Iron.

Draak had been wounded by the Angels Veteran.

Fate decreed that he wouldn't dodge the second Angel.

In the millisecond before the blow landed, Draak remembered the mantra.

The Flesh is Weak, But Iron Endures!

Fate Pts: 0/2. AGL 44 = 44. Result: 48, Failure

Devious pivoted with the force of the multi-melta blow.  Something seemed to shift within him, almost as if he gained power from the blow despite the physical damage it wrecked.  Even through layers of battle plate, It was obvious his body language had changed.

With a thought, Decimus activated his external vox at maximum amplification.

"I am brother Decimus, once of a chapter that only now exists in memory.  Today you shall not triumph for a Son of Dorn stands in your way.  One should know the name of a worthy foe to remember them or know who has bested them.  I have given you my name, alas yours are not worth remembering.  Only in death will my duty end."

His heavy bolter fired another burst this time concentrated on the multi-melta wielding marine.

The terminators pushed their way forward through the psychic storm, at first seeming untouched by its power but as lightning and witchflame scorched the deck one of their number faltered, if only for a moment, as the wards of their armour were briefly overwhelmed.

Odysseus focussed on this weakness, drawing more and more power from the warp as a fresh hell boiled its way across the room towards the approaching astartes. There was no point in holding back, no matter the risk. In moments they would cross the threshold of the kine-shield and scant moments after that they would unleash the full force of their weapons.

Half action sustain - pull the barrier in a half square keeping Draak covered, every little helps

Half action push smite #4 - activation and auto phenomena roll = 77 / 97  (perils AND a bonus roll - eek, panic stations, everyone run!)

Glancing to his left Brynjarr saw that Draak was occupied with two of the enemy marines. Should he help he wondered but dismissed the thought as Grond swung, the Sergeant would be fine.

The terminators where a more pressing threat. As if on que the Terminator with the heavy flamer appeared to be looking his way, declaring himself a imminent threat. His bolter would do little to the tactical dreadnaught armour, but the Inquisitors henchmen’s parting gift might.

Too slow.

As his knee buckled, the sympathetic pain flaring in his interface as well as flesh, he sank back into penitential pose by necessity, rather than will.

Achilles wounded by Paris, at Troy.

Narakiel drew back his arm, the black shape blurring into and out of existence, grasping a lightning bolt.

Bellerophon, struck by Zeus.

He laughed but couldn't hear it, mind filling with pain, soul filling with agony of betrayal by those he hoped in.

Arthur on a boat to Avalon.

Then nothing.

Free: Call Furious Assault?
If so, please let me know your movements and attacks. Draak and Svelk are already in combat so cannot move, but may make an Attack. If your Charge Move is insufficient to engage an enemy Character, it must at least move towards one.

Orphiel:

The High Interrogator looks down at you; hatred still twisting his gaunt features. He raises his sceptre of office up above his head. Then it begins to fall, with all the weight of Tactical Dreadnought Armour behind it and the strength of burning contempt and black suspicion driving it downwards…

…and then it suddenly stops dead. Perhaps you can feel the crackling heat of it, scant inches above your helm, the smell of blistering grey paint. What is happening…?

Then a sound - a huge, ringing bell-like CLANG - registers in your mind.

You realise that Narakiel did not relent at the last moment, nor were all his words and actions some kind of test of your loyalty. Rather, the simple truth is that something else has blocked the falling hammer blow that was about to end your existence.

You did not even hear his approach, so caught up were you in the moment of betrayal and judgement. You look up. A second figure stands over you. Another titan of war. His armour is much less ornate than the Angel's, but even more massive. A hodgepodge of Indomitus, Cataphractii, Tartaros plate, though some pieces are so modified that they defy classification altogether.

Talek Varn.

The long haft of his vicious war-axe has caught the descending Crozius.

Just.

Barely.

Varn has had to throw himself forward at full stretch to interpose the curving weapon between you and certain death. To a trained warrior, the danger he is in is obvious. He has hugely overextended his guard, left himself wide open to a counterstroke from the Interrogator's carven maul. His brutish crusader's helm, a custom piece similar in design to that of MkIII Iron armour, looks down at you. Something about the tilt of his head says he knows exactly what he has done.

The battle was turning against them quickly, the Angels ancient terminator armour all but impervious to damage and Draak too busy fending off the attacks of their vanguard to co-ordinate a defense.

Their position would soon be overrun, they needed more time.

"Push the attack and regroup" Odysseus commanded over the vox, no more time for petty concerns of command and 'rank' so much as it meant anything to such a disparate group. "Clear the chaff and focus fire on the lead terminators! Stay their advance!"

Abandoning cover Odysseus sprinted towards Draak, his force sword gleaming in one hand while he continued his psychic assault with the other, the air around him tearing and crackling as the walls of reality began to buckle under the constant psychic assault. The warrior attacking Draak had wagered all on one killing blow leaving himself exposed - such opportunities could no longer be allowed to escape.

(Call Furious Assault - charge move and standard attack for all - strongpoint ends)

Charge up and around behind Draak to engage the power sword armed astartes

Roll to hit: 22 = hit

Roll to damage: 5+15 = 20 damage, Pen 6

Opposed willpower test (force weapon) = 9 - marine is probably exploded if he doesn't have abhor the witch

Odysseus will shrink his force down as much as possible to contain the squad once they have rallied around draak.
