They will likely be in an Elites expansion, many of the Elites are missing from Factions.

GW really loves to sell us rule books.

Speaking of...how are they going to cover the old books? Usually an edition switch means there's outdated stuff that needs to be patched via a faq, but because this is more in line with a complete revamp, it feels like arena/nexus, elites and commanders all just get to be tossed in the bin in some way.

I imagine it'll be akin to 7th ed transition to 8th, the old books don't work at all without a massive overhaul and FAQ so they're just going to get binned. If KT is meant to be anything like Warcry, no current KT statline works with that in any shape or form

Not knowing how much the rules change, it is hard to say. Expect them not to work at all, to balance expectations

I guess that all the book from previous edition of KT are lost

I guess that it will be a start from scratch

The Killteam subreddit are very dedicated and as such have already decyphered a lot of the blurry screenshots of rules from the stream.

Statlines have changed drastically and are in line with Warcry in many ways with Action Points, Krieg guardsmen have 7 wounds (a wound pool again, like Warcry)

Units and models that are missing from the Killteam website are visible when they were flicking through the rulebook so the website is likley to not be fully accurate.

Kind of janky to release pariah nexus and bin the rules within a few months. Makes it an even bigger cash grab than it already was.

In partial defence that was delayed by a few months by Papa Nurgle. And I think it sold badly as a KT product

Well everything's been pushed back, including octarius.

And of course it sold badly, it had the least stuff for the cost; arena was a fraction of the cost and it was pretty much only used to push the missing units.

I don't think everything has been pushed back - that's the issue. Some releases have, others haven't. Some releases have probably moved up the schedule a bit simply because they were ready when other releases are still missing a chunk of their actual material.

"All over the place" is a fair description, tbh.

In fairness to pariah Nexus I managed to get 4 sets at 30% off. The price of the models alone was worth it - everything else was ditched/ donated.

For what those kits go for separately it was actually a bargain which is insane.

Stunning. The folding stock on the kommando dakka... Definitely means I'm in for two sets of kommandos

Having to pick between sniper and demo expert though for Krieg is mean!

It's been a year and that defense is getting old.  The pariah nexus already looked like a heavy intercessor cash grab and this just makes it worse.

That is true. I'm just a bit annoyed that I wont be able to use my Vanguard Space Marine kill team in full when the new edition drops.  I'm also curious to see how a Space Marine kill team led by a Heavy Intercessor Sergeant and composed of Assault Intercessors and Intercessors fare in the edition.

Papa Nurgle isn't the main issue anymore - the main issue is that it's currently incredibly difficult to source goods from China, the ports in the UK can't handle the goods that are passing through at a reasonable speed and shipping container prices went up in cost somewhere in the region of 400%.

It's still a bummer either way, but there's considerable mitigating circumstances.

Sure. Let's say octarius is going to be on schedule for september, marines were to be out in August and pariah was November. That's still less than a year, and doesn't help that pariah seemed designed to be early access to the plastic models.

Old it might be, but it is still relevant because the issue is ongoing.

GW were only able to bring a full complement of production staff back to work at the same time just a few weeks ago, and the issues with international shipping delays and costs remain.

Don't worry too much on missing units just yet! The website is missing a lot of units that have been seen from the preview stream (praetorians, lychguard, terminators). I'd definitely wait until the website is properly updated or the book comes out!

Yes which is out of their control, but the rate at which they want to release stuff, and the amount of bloat they want to release is on them.  They've had a year to adjust to a known situation.  Ultimately people still buy it but it cheapens the games for those that want to be more sensible with their money.  When they use early access to models to sell rules supplements it cheapens the game and I'm less inclined to buy this next edition, the box looks great though.

Edited by trees

The alternate colour scheme for Krieg is really nice but NO god dammit GW I have enough in the pile of shame already and enough project ideas without you dangling actual nice Guard models as well.
