Having to pick between sniper and demo expert though for Krieg is mean!

Arms are frequently the easiest swap though, the medic body seems like it would be useful for it.

Then again, the heads will be the difficult to change because of the tube...

Hm.

I'm going to buy it, I'm going to play it and I'll probably like it.

I have the fear in me though. Space Marines get extra actions. If it works out that their points cost is high enough that they're always outnumbered, I suppose it could work. I've never played Warcry or Underworlds, so I'm not sure if this kinda thing is consistent with those games. Not gonna judge it til I have more info, but this has me anxious.

Mmmm, the sniper/demoman alternate build got me thinking, would it be possible that the Krieg kit allows for a full squad of grenadiers?

I guess it's unlikely as if I recall correctly, they are equipped with hotshot lasguns and I don't see GW adding them on top of the normal lasguns (unless it's a modular design). Still, it would be cool if GW included skull gasmasks and torso armour for the whole unit, or at least a few of them, considering grenadiers are no longer available at FW.

Edit: I've checked the sprue pics and all lasguns are single piece so that pretty much discounts this possibility.

Edit 2: I've just seen the heads in the sprues. Oh well, it was nice to dream about it for a few minutes.

There were ways to get extra actions but in warcry but it was tied to the initiative system and the models traits (it wasn't automatic). I will say the limited number of turns, and the objective system made small elite armies really difficult to play well. We also don't know if this system will put caps on some actions which could change the strength of extra actions dramatically.

I also don't think they'll follow warcry to closely because there aren't alot of ranged attacks in that system.

I'm really excited, but looking at the webpage I noticed that no faction has the options from the Elites book from the first version of the game. It's a real shame to lose all those options, and its really reducing my excitement quite a bit

They won't have all options on that website, unless regular Guard (not DkOK Veterans) is limited to two models: Scion Tempestor and Guard Sergeant.

They will likely be in an Elites expansion, many of the Elites are missing from Factions.

GW really loves to sell us rule books.

That is true. I'm just a bit annoyed that I wont be able to use my Vanguard Space Marine kill team in full when the new edition drops. I'm also curious to see how a Space Marine kill team led by a Heavy Intercessor Sergeant and composed of Assault Intercessors and Intercessors fare in the edition.

Don't worry too much on missing units just yet! The website is missing a lot of units that have been seen from the preview stream (praetorians, lychguard, terminators). I'd definitely wait until the website is properly updated or the book comes out!
Don't rely on that video

The first edition of KT was introduced by a video showing SW wolf riders and that unit was never in the game

It's screenshots from the preview stream of the units shown in the Killteam book. They're physically shown in the book (photos of the models with their names underneath), it's assured that they'll have rules. This isn't a promotional video, this is GW employees literally flicking through the book.

Commanders haven't been seen or mentioned yet and I personally hope it stays that way, Killteam is at it's best without Space marine captains that solo whole killteams

Interesting that they use the faction labels Imperial Guard and Space Marines. So much for the copyright-based conspiracy theories, I guess.

I’m very happy that KT gets its own ruleset now. The old one was ...fine... but it did seem like a wasted opportunity that everything had to be built on top of 40K.

Love the fact that a Guardsman is a veteran after a few months of fighting :biggrin.:

Strictly speaking, not... an entirely unrealistic view of war. Particularly if they are taking part in persistent conflict on a daily / weekly basis.
