Boc's All Chaos, All the Time (Legionaries complete, Defiler WIP)

Oh hello my old friends

 

Got most of the basic work done on some nurglings (JUST IN TIME FOR THEM NOT TO BE LITTLE SECONDARY MONKIES) and Beasts of Nurgle. 

 

The beasts were literally a progression of "what random wash or contrast will look weird next" and, to my colorblind eyes, I think they're turning out okay.

 

I'll need to detail the fleshy and boney parts (tongues, slobber) before washing and calling it a day. They're ugly as sin and not exactly display pieces, so should be able to wrap them up quickly.

 

 

I've... forgotten how to do CSM since my foray into DA. It used to be muscle memory one to the next to the next but it's starting out awkward haha. Working on a Warpsmith and Leej squad, not much done on them just yet.

I'll dry off the oils tomorrow morning and varnish tomorrow night. It'll be interesting what the combo of brick red, burnt umber, and streaking grime makes, because I have no idea haha

 

Never before have I cared less about precision (other than the eyeballs) and it is gloriously freeing. All hail Papa Nurgle.

That's one big boy  - you could probably field it as a lord of skulls, though it may be even too large for that.

 

Bit of a shame, as it looks like a decent model - better than the old defiler, anyway.

Warpsmith, nurglings and second beast are all done. Warpsmith will be going into the Soulforged Warpack lineup with my old one, nurglings and Beasts will be gathering dust lol

Have you thought about doing the plasma coils a different colour? Being the same colour as the armour does tend to make them blend in a little.

Finished up the Legionaries earlier this week

 

And got a properly scaled Defiler print off my buddy with the printer. Cranking away at him as fast as i can since I've still got to do two other daemon engines in 3 weeks

Nice work on the legionnaires - the blood bases look good on them
