Dont-Be-Haten
So I've been working on Ksons since February, post LVO. I thought the same thing about incorporating the red scorpions into my heresy thousand sons because the aesthetics are so on point. I didn't know this thread existed until I just happened upon it. I've really wanted to make use of Culn as a super leviathan for my ksons I just haven't had a chance to wrap my brain around getting him or adding him to the list. I have the honor guard set, and really enjoy the idea a black Scorpion cohort. Glad to see you are back mentally, keep up the cool content! TheFirstKnight
So, and now for something different! Having a break from painting red; my gaming group is having a small league type thing and it’s taking me forever to paint my Thousand Sons. As such (and as I’m mostly doing them as Infantry), decided to allocate all my vehicles to another Legion. I’ve long been a fan of the Iron Hands ever since I read Chris Wraight’s excellent book, Wrath of Iron, and I was wanting to paint something with a scheme just a tiny bit less…laborious. Here’s my first mini completed for them; Iron Father Braskar, of Clan Avernii. Decided to have them as Dropsite Massacre survivors. Working on some Morlock Terminators as a bodyguard for him next. Pearson73
Fantastic work, particularly on the face and the battered white. Link to comment https://bolterandchainsword.com/topic/373661-a-tale-of-dust-xvth-legio-and-friends/page/5/#findComment-5950058 Share on other sites

I genuinely hate painting flesh but maybe I should do a bit more… Decided to add some white to break up the monotony of the black, and I really lile it actually! AK Interactive Streaking Grime really does the business on it. Marshal Rohr
Gorgeous minis. A collection to be proud of. TheFirstKnight
Back on the Thousand Sons wagon, so snagged myself a couple of the Solar Auxilia battle groups to use as Prosperine Spireguard. Was really quick to paint and really enjoyable. Pearson73
The scheme looks great, love how the marine looks next to the trooper too. The scale is spot on. TheFirstKnight
As it tends to, work got in the way of actual hobby so flitting betwixt my Thousand Sons and their allies of the Prosperine Spireguard. Here’s my stand in Legate Marshal till I can find a suitable ornate figure. Next up are the rest of the command squad and FINALLY finishing the second 5-man Sekhmet Terminator squad. TheFirstKnight
One day I’ll get the photo quality right but here’s the Cohorts Vexilla done (base aside), just doing the other 3 members of my Command Squad. TheFirstKnight
Finally finished a squad, woo! Command Squad completed for the Prosperine Spireguard. Now onto 2 of the Leman Russ tanks (the trim is taking an AGE to do!) Corswain
Yeah, that trim would be a nightmare. I'm sure it will look awesome but I would be tempted to keep it the same as the hull. Marshal Mittens
AK interactive has some very good new acrylic pens in a bunch of colors that would likely make the trim a lot quicker, if they have the color you want. https://ak-interactive.com/product-category/paints/rc-markers/ They have some metallics too. Really excellent looking figures, love the gritty but vibrant look. TheFirstKnight
Thanks for the kinds words, both! @Marshal Mittens that’s fantastic, I’ll defo look into those :) cheers! been working on adding some Veletaris Vanguard sections to go with my Veletaris Sentinels. The mk VI rotor cannons fit surprisingly well onto the Veletaris arms, only needed minimal superglue or chopping of arms. Torbenos
Quite the assembled force! I have not yet had the pleasure of seeing any Solar Auxilia in the flesh, no one in my own scene has dared to go for the mere mortals so far. I look forward to seeing how the tanks will end up! The scheme will be striking, I have no doubt. Pearson73
Those troopers are looking good. Having collected Chaos Marines, I sympathise with your fight against the trim...
