Ok caught up on reading (and hopefully did not bombard you guys with too many emotes).

Welcome Sobek

I am inclined to investigate the data core thingy from the Vault, but if the rest of the team want me with them for the intrusion into (one of) the enemy stronghold I can do so.

It's within House Borodi territory, roughly 60 to 90 minutes "below" you depending on type of travel. The Arcade is a cosmopolitan 'market' where upper and mid-hivers meet to talk shop, connive illicit assignations and do other business. An array of salons within the Arcade provides a wealthy circuit. Kraevus would be noticed there, but his presence would not be unusual.

I'm torn. Kraevus is probably more useful to mission goals... but having an extra 1k each would also probably help us out a lot too? Don't really want to suggest splitting up again, but...

Is Restal gone to the bar already? If so, does at least one of us need to back him up, or should we abandon him and go chase Kraevus?

A hive of criminality AND upmarket? You're just making Reynard want to go there even more...

Edit: actually, assuming MG/Restal is still determined to go the lounge, it's probably too much fun for Reynard to resist going along too?

Up to Falk and Nicios if they want to join us or go looking for Kraevus?

Depends what the pair of you are up to, and whether chasing down the outcome of the crash will take long enough for the kreavus detour before we meet up again for Canthus.

If you lot are splitting up I migth as well have Bardas look into the Data core from the vault and join up later.

Mazer

How heretical would it be for Bardas to try and make Valkaries power armour work again?

Ok, Bardas in the Study with the Candlestick it is...

Tro ONLY:

Deliciously heretical. I'm going to need more details here Tro, because I'm having some very interesting mental images...:tongue:

Mazer:

I just figured that it be a shame to let it just sit there. Jury rig it so that is functional as armour, even if the sensors and such are damaged (I am not entirely sure how damaged it is after the fight).

You're going to have to cannibalise it a bit. The legs and (damaged) armoured torso will not fit you without Agility penalties (it's made for a female torso, after all), but, since you have the armour apart at the moment, you can 'improvise' a frame which will hold the plates and carry the weight of said armour. You also have Mechanicus Implants, which will allow you to interface with the armour. Think of it a bit like Iron Man Mk 1. The helmet is damaged at the front, so cannot be used.

I am willing to treat this utter tech heresy as Light Power Armour with a couple of extra bits: (+10 Strength, Recoil Baffling, AP 7 Body/Arms/Legs. -30 to Concealment tests).

It's going to use all your spare bits and unguents, and will take 1D3+1 Hours to build. You may shorten this time by Making a Difficult (-10) Tech Use Test, reducing the time by +1 Hour per DoS to a minimum of 1 hour. If you fail the Test, no further time will be accrued, but a negative effect will be added per 2 DoF.

Due to your diabolical heresy, I will also confer 1D3 Corruption Points for defiling this hallowed suit of a fallen 'Saint'.

Thoughts?

I think Restal is looking to claim one of the Bounties that the Arbites Quartermaster was offering, the Mark is a Crimelord who was last seen in the St Iacinda's Cradle, and worth 5,000 Thrones dead or alive...

Reynard is also thinking about how to claim the cash... but perhaps with less actually killing the dude...

@Mazer Rackham Speaking of, what do the Arbites require as proof of execution? Presumably we wouldn't be expected to actually lug a body back to them?

I'm glad you asked!

After the great fraud case of Bertram 'Tea-Leaf' Strunk in 399.666.M36 where ten bounties were claimed on the same man, (who was later found wandering the hive waving his digitless hands at the populace) the Arbites stopped accepting fingers as verification (fingerprints and DNA), and also, in a stroke of strange and clear-headed forward thinking, refused toes and ears.

It was settled by the strict and unbending Praefector Martellus 'The Bastard' Cobray, that severed heads were acceptable. This was not amended for twenty-five years, until the Great Corpse Starch Fraud of 424.666.M36, where so many bounties were being claimed by the Corpse Grinder Guild, petty cash in fourteen different precincts ran out, requiring loans. Three Bounty-masters were fired over the incident, one of whom was executed for failing to reveal his cousin was a Corpse Grinder, and the stipulation finally made that the face needed to be intact and identifiable, whole and complete and witnessed by one citizen 'in good standing'.

This proved to be quite beneficial, when in 280.762.M38, Coltho Venator de Tirant, the fourteenth Earl of House Tirant, a wanted fugitive and notorious troubadour suspected of fathering 103 children through his affairs, reported to the Arbites he had executed himself, and wished to claim the bounty of 145,000 Thrones. His claim was rightly thus disqualified.

TL;DR, have someone impeccable witness the kill, and cut off his head without spoiling his face.
