And I'm liking the guns on that guardsman, who's clearly decided that looking good is worth more than a couple of shoulder pads. These chaps weren't vowed, because I really wasn't sure how much painting I'd get done during my summer break. But in the end, I got two games lined up and pushed myself a bit - didn't make it for the first one, but managed to spray the varnish early on the morning of the second game, so they've already been blooded. There's a September vow coming, of course, but it's still in lots of pieces on my painting desk. More pics in the spoiler below - four more dwarves to paint and one month to paint them in, this will be quite the challenge! A Theyn from the Gunners Security Division and a Medic from the Scout Recon force. Showing off the purple power weapons - it's the same colours as my necron but honestly I'd used every other colour except orange on the armour and needed something to stand out. Hazard stripes! I've started painting them using cocktail sticks instead of brushes, having only just learned that people don't always use brushes for freehand. I can't tell you the number of problems this knowledge would have solved for me, but it's certainly no small number! Here's the War Dog Stalker I was able to finish a couple weeks back. On the bright side, the new area in the basement should be functional early next week, the pile of shame remains high, so I'll hopefully get back to it hard and heavy. It's slightly early, but here's my vow for September - 5 acolytes, mostly carrying demolition charges (and yes, I fully expect to be halfway through them when the dataslate drops and crushes them into oblivion, but they're one of the few Cult things I don't have painted up at all, so now feels like a good time). I, Rogue, vow to complete five acolytes by the end of September, whether the nerf-hammer falls or not. Just remember, completing just a single model, regardless of what you've vowed will earn the completion.
