My vow for August is my second Call to arms pledge (Captian, Librarian, terminators and last 5 Infernus from Leviathan and 6 ZM doors) along with 10 Emperors Children Volkite heavy support marines and a power armoured praetor/consul and getting my 'plodding along' knight finished.

One terminator Librarian.  Damn I had some issues with paint wearing off this guy as I painted him.  But I got there in the end.  I love the blue I got going with these guys, simple, easy and looks quite effective.  Unfortunately the zoomed in photos show some mistakes better then my tired eyes (the grey on his foot and the green on the black power cabling) but he will work for now.  I wanted to really push myself with the Leviathan models with battle damage etc but felt that with the ornate armour it wouldn't really work.

 

Anyway on to the August vows.  Although I should be pushing onto my next batch of Imperium I will instead go some more of the Leviathan stuff I hoped to do last month,

Can't say I am hugely inspired by these guys but with ten in the box, I better start them sooner rather then later.  At least the Sarge looks pretty cool.  They did horribly in my first game of 10th the other day though, so hopefully a coat of paint might improve their performance.

That's not pathetic. You finished a model, and to a really good standard. 

 

Some people are able to knock out dozens of models in a month. Others, like you and me, can't - for whatever reason. But this is a challenge, not a competition. You've met the challenge this month (which is, at heart, to complete at least one model). You may feel that you could've done more, but running out of time is not a failure, just a temporary delay.

@Brother Christopher, I'm going to agree with @Rogue here- I can pump out a lot of models per month, but they are very much "tabletop" standard, i.e.- good from 3 feet away. I really respect those that can paint really excellent models. I don't have the skills, time, or inclination to do that, my enjoyment is in the modeling and playing while painting is pretty much a chore. I can paint fast, and that is a sort of skill, but to me those that can create very detailed and meticulously painted models are truly skilled. Keep up the good work!

@Brother Christopher I agree with everyone, you did a great job! Heck you even painted eyes, something I struggle greatly with. Honestly everyone who posts on this thread and entire board really does great work! I've been playing since around 2001 and probably only have 1 small army full painted. Anyway, this month I'm vowing 3 models, 1 Dark Apostle and 2 Dark Disciples. Working on some legionaries in the background as well, but they are a bit further along.

Nevertheless, I will try to get back to painting somewhere in August and finish the terrain (along with the rest of my Call to Arms pledge).
