Don't worry about Firstborn performance. They're still good in the roles that they have exclusive access to, and a jump pack chaplain is one of these.

Also, I really like your new army coming together, it looks great :)

Speaking of Firstborn Performance, in my area is a little campaign with crusade rules incoming, with 15 Points available.

Seeing that Barakiel alone uses up 5, what do you suggest i take for the other 10 Points?

At the moment i work on normal Intercessors and the rest is stuff you see here in the thread.

I want to use my new Primaris (except for the chap of course*) but i also have reasonable collection of Firstborns available (nearly complete 5th Company).

*Or should i use a Captain as leader instead?

Any suggestions?

Chaplains are always a cool choice. I'm not biased, honest :D

Not sure about what you want to run with him, maybe something else fast to keep up?

Judging from your title, i guess i can trust your opinion about Interrogator Chaplains - you do not look biased in any way.......

By the way, i had an idea for the first 15 Points in this campaign (learned today it gets bigger over time, so thats that).

It may not be competitive in any way but for me its always style first.

First units we send into battle in search for the Fallen? Exactly, our Ravenwing!

So my idea is this:

Ravenwing Bike Squadron with 3 Bikes - PowerWeapon (Thunderhammer maybe) and 2 Flamers.

Outrider Squadron - of course 3 Bikes

2 Attack Bikes with Multi Meltas

My guess is its very risky and since i am not completely familiar with the actual rule set and gameflow it may as well be a rough thing to start with  - but sometimes you have to run before you learn to walk.

What do you think?

Barakiel (who then comes in with the 2nd wave) ;)

Still unsure about the campaign, so i work on more basic units.

Here are the first 5 Intercessor Squad Members.

As all of my firstborn Sergeants wear robes, to compensate the lack of robed Primaris Marines, i took another model for my Sergeant.

Intercessor005a.thumb.jpg.8969524c399a45c1a1a5f638b573b696.jpg

Its only a flesh wound.

I also bought myself some infiltrators but i find it really difficult to give them the same "dark feel" like the rest of my Dark Angels.

Thats a tricky unit to modify, but i guess at first i try to leave them rather basic and let the campaign (if i take them) do the development of their ongoing appearance.

Comments as always welcome.

So, my plans for pure Ravenwing Start in the Mini-Campaign is kind of cursed.

Mainly because my lack of knowledge of the actual rules. To count as 2nd Company and therefore "object secured" i need 3 Fast Attack and 1 HQ.

I thought i only needed to be purely Ravenwing. Well...

Ok, new plan with the 15 points.

Here are my 2 suggestions for another start:

Barakiel - Interrogator Chaplain with Jump Pack and Thunderhammer (representing his two handed Crozius). 6

Squad Redemption - 5 Primaris Intercessors with Power Fist and Grenade Launcher. 5

Squad Perdition - 2 Attack Bikes with Multi Meltas. 4

Or

Tyrael - Primaris Apothecary. 4

Squad Redemption - 5 Primaris Intercessors with Power Fist and Grenade Launcher. 5

Squad Tormentor - 3 Eradicators with Heavy Melta Guns and one Multi Melta. 6

The 2nd list is in my mind a little bit overkill but its a good base to start with (in my mind).

When the campaign goes on the first expansion are 5 points (in which i plan to put 5 Primaris Assault Intercessors for the first list or a Pysker in the second) and there are also Boarding Actions planned.

I would highly appreciate any suggestions because i am motivated as hell to hunt down Fallen in this campaign and have a lot of fun.

Greetings fellow Unforgiven,

I went on the internet and i found this… ;)
The whole thing with the spirits/ghosts was an idea from another player/painter but i found it really awesome and for a Dark Angel Psyker a good representation of the psychic power „Engulfing Fear“ and/or playing with the mind of your enemy. So here is my hommage to this conversion.

Following this is a Assault Intercessor Squad based on the BT Crusader Squad (awesome sprue i must confess).
And i am working on the conversion of a Redemptor Dreadnought which is also inspired from the internet, but i need more candles for this (waiting for delivery).

So still more to come.

Comments as always very welcome.

Your DA work looks AMAZING!

I also always liked the concept of a blade guard squad being a company veteran squad within the ordering and TO&E of the Dark Angels!

Edit: Also whose greens are you using? They look good.

Its actually really simple, because i am not the best of painters. For me painting is more like a necessary evil since i like converting alot more, so  i try to find an easy way to paint effectively.

First step is a light grey coating with Army Painters Uniform Grey Primer.

Basic color is GW Caliban Green.

Highlights are GW Warboss Green.

Wash with Agrax Earthshade.

Thats basically my green. As mentioned, not really complicated but like it alot and for me represents a good way for a nice dark green without using too many different colors.

And thanks for the comments, much appreciated.

Greetings fellow Unforgiven,

took a little break in the Apothecarion because of some health issues. Seemed to help, i am nearly in working condition again. So Mission "Grim Dark" is on the menu again.

Here is a project i have been working for some time. Took some inspiration from a place called internet to finish it up.

I am not entirely satisfied with the plasma on both models (looks on the pictures even more dull as in reality). I think i rework it after my current projects.

But without further delay: Redemptor Dreadnought „Gideon“

Looks fantastic, but now your bitzbox is clearly empty ;)

You have no idea... not by a long shot...........

It is disturbing how deep this box is, considering that i am in the hobby since 1994...

On a more serious note, do you think its too much going on with the model.

I wanted to recreate some of the dark Artworks, inspired by John Blanche (who is in my opinion a fine source for Inspiration but nothing more).

Greetings fellow Unforgiven,

My take on Supreme Grand Master Azrael.

I used the Banner from the old Azrael since its size is more suitable for the Primaris Version.

Greetings fellow Unforgiven,

at last finished the first 3 Outriders. The next Biker however will be the Chaplain on Bike to lead them. And i have another 3 Outriders in line to finish the Squad.

They had their first fight against Adeptus Mechanicus last Saturday and performed well with getting on an objective and holding off light infantry. But they lack staying power so i will add the Chaplain on bike as soon as possible.

It really does look better! I wish I had an extra.

Greetings fellow Unforgiven,

Here is my my take on the Judiciar. My version is not an aspirant for becoming a Chaplain.

He is indeed a member of the Inner Circle and has the dark but sacred duty to execute Fallen after they confessed their sins.

Its a simple model with some more or less subtle modifications.

Last but not least Primaris Interrogator Chaplain Ephrial
