Progress Log: Alpha Legion Warband: "The Last Surprise"

I went back and did another pass of the Abaddon black, cleaned up any spillage and applied leadbelcher to the jump-pack metallics. I think the leadbelcher went on too thin though and will require a second coat. I also spilled a little on the black clasps that attach the exhausts the front of the jump lack so those will need to be cleaned up. Then I used black legion for the armour seals and the belts for the jump pack on the chest. I forgot how much extra time and paint the jump packs add. It'll be worth it to have a triple function assault squad/raptor squad/murderwing kill team though.

I've started on my terminator lord! Thnx to Grot for the cape. This is just the terminator captain from the combat patrol magazine with a few exceptions. First I swapped out the head with non alpha legion features for a salvaged CSM terminator helmet that I clipped the horns off. I also swapped out the power sword arm for a stronger power fist. I scraped the crux terminatus icon off the shoulder pad. I wanted to try and give the impression this suit of tactical dreadnought armour is what it is: salvaged from the (other) loyalists. Why remove the shoulder icon and not the leg one? I think it was this Lord's idea of making a point. Legion before personal glory perhaps? I can only speculate.

 

The paints are my normal silvers with blue mix except the right shoulder pad which is gonna get multiple layers of stormhost silver and then finally black to hopefully give a really bright black.
