I even checked the combat patrol version and there's little better there for him. I think they could have afforded to given him an extra -1 to AP, at least make him somewhat threatening to terminators and better save models. I finding it hard to get excited by this guy by how he underperformed in the last game. In other news, I got some ice storm from Army Painter, so time for a rim colour test: Ice Storn Administratum Grey personally, I'm drawn to the ice storm. The syabrite green (or however it's spelt) basecoat: And with added nuln oil: better look at the wing: i need to ever so lightly drybrush the wings to keep the darkest colours in the folds. However, I think if all goes well, he should be finished tonight. I'm going to try the same thing I did with the claws of the Von Ryan's Leapers, let's see how they turn out. It also worked for the head horn...on certain angles. I've also started the process of moving the already completed figures to the new base rims, which will take a while. Its my goal to try and get as many done in a session as possible. I will say though, looking at this box, its a wonderful thing to see them sitting there painted and based: plus ive got expansion room! Painting wise it's all down to your colour scheme. The wing membrane gave me pause as when I was testing my colour scheme, I hadn't considered wings! Sadly there's no new updates, other jobs have had to be done, but I'm hopeful that I can still have it done...and we're edging closer to the new preorders! Seeing as my time management went out the window this week, I've finally clawed my way back to the Hive with a good update! he's glorious! another angle: With this, the painting phase of my swarm (at the moment) is done. Still have to base the Von Ryan's Leapers, the psychophage and, now, the Screamer Killer, before my call to Arms vow is complete but I'm in a good position. I also worked towards getting all the swarm on the ice storm rims with the Barbgaunts: I'm also aware that where creeping ever closer to full codex release...Exciting (and expensive!) times ahead! Neurogaunts Termagaunts and Ripper Swarms I'm hoping to finalise the bases for the psychophage, the Screamer Killer and Von Ryan's Leapers, tonight which means I can take a completed group shot this weekend. Looking to the future, I'm inclined to go next for some Barbagaunts to get a squad of 10 (or 2 squads of 5 to maximise their shooting ability and deploy them on the flanks). After that though, all purchases will probably come after Xmas...where their might be a freshly released army box to get...assuming it doesn't sell out within 10 minutes.
