The local store was doing a Noir themed painting contest. I've never tried painting in black and white so it seemed cool. I just need to figure out a pop of color. Either I am gonna spatter red paint on him or pick out the goggles in orange or something.

Just wanted to share some of my old minis I got pics of :3

Edit: got singled out pictures

First set was my chapter master miniatures that have survived

Next are some dreads

Then carab culln and sevrin loth painted in my chapter colors

Some tartaros terminators I need to finish eventually. They're FW originals

And finally Tyberos, the first blood raven I painted, a chaos lord and a FW tau resin kit

Looking back at these, I was a decent painter for some of them. Not sure if my painting has improved much but I noticed in the older minis I had some varying techniques that were interesting and useful in the time. (we didn't really have contrast paints back then).

Got separated out pictures

I finally obtained the John Blanche Castellan mini I've been wanting for months. I couldn't find it were I was living but when I took a trip home the LGS had multiples of him. I also included a scale shot with the new HH MKIII minis and a primaris marine. He sort of sits in between size wise.

Here's the whole kill team, it should have everyone, though I think I'm missing a melta gunner? I have a flamer, plasma and grenade launcher.

Otherwise the watch master, confidant, zealot, spotter,  bruiser, veteran, medic, vox operator, Sapper, generic trooper and sniper are accounted for.

Here's a test of the krieg color scheme I'm doing

For posterity sake

Coat is based with 60/40 Kantor blue and abbadon black

Then highlights with Kantor blue and kantor+white. Then oblivion black wash

Pants are Wizard Grey by TTC paints with oblivion black wash

Boots are bone colored with Agrax earth shade. The leg wraps are bone with skeleton horde.

The backpack is bone with snake bite leather, blanket roll is same as leg wraps.

Metals are dark silver by pro acryl highlights with sir coats silver and bright silver. Oblivion wash

I kinda wish I had more of the krieg looking helmets but these are OK I guess lol

I think you're right and shouldn't have second thoughts here.

The paint scheme is good, too; brown, tan and yellowish bits break up the colder primary colours nicely.

And, let me reiterate this for the umpteenth time: I'm impressed by how your armies are yours; the amount of customisation and work is apparent and shows that you're enjoying the hobby, which is a super important part of it.
