Started painting them, the scheme is a bit rough but I guess I'm going for a battle worn look.

I also picked up a fun imperial commander mini and did a head swap. I had a blast painting him too. Lore wise maybe he's the leader of the AM auxilla for my chapter.

I'd follow him! I think he's my favourite of all your models that I've seen. The plasma, the small jewels and that lovely cape!

I tried making a set of bionic legs the other day. It's gonna be part of my invictor warsuit project when I get around to it.

Lil bit more messing with him, and I also got a free set of flamer sponsons for a land raider. Just was missing a tank but I think I can still mount them to a land raider otherwise? I casted them with oyumaru

So I'm trying to make a passable land raider redeemer. Im repairing one from a decade ago, but I had to order the top plate.  Then a friend made me some parts for sponsons and doors a few months ago.  I'm gonna scratch build the assault cannons, some sensors and maybe like a multi melta servitor? 

 

Could I have just gotten a new one? Probably, but this is fun.

Soooo I tried making some kind of assault cannon. It looks aight. Will work on detailing it more.

I cracked open the Invictor Warsuit and started assembling it. I think I wanna put one of the legs up on a rock or chaos corpse.... 

But the marine fits in the base decently. I just gotta get a pose set and then detail the inside like adding straps and the controls without hands

Finished the assembly for the Invictor, thinking of adding extra weapons but not totally sure. I want to add at lease a missile rack, some panzerfausts and a shield. 

I also got some dollar store magnets that work perfectly for my land raider

I also made a siege claw option for the warsuit. Gonna still count as the usual weapons, just a rougher looking load out. Not sure if the little gun inside looks reasonable for a heavy bolter.

I like it! Tougher weapon and makes for a nice little diorama. I know it's basically the same thing but for some reason him standing outside the walker just makes it better.

I started painting it, The Lich's Laboratory kinda inspired me to try sponging some more, I'm liking the effect so far. But I'm wondering if I should put some contrasts over the red and black. The I wanna try streaking grime but that stuff worries me a little since I never tried using it.

On the streaking grime ... you could try it on some sprue or plasticard if you had any lying around?

For the time being I used a mix of strong tone and black wash. It looks reasonable, just will need some sponge touch ups. I think the rust is a little too orange but I used ryza rust.

If you want a darker rust, adding a wash of Doombull Brown here and there might work.

GW often uses Skrag Brown for rust, too.

I've been trying to fancy up a Rhino, but not sure what my vision was for it. I wanted a relic look or something like lamellar armor but I think I stuffed it either way.

Is it worth looking at the old extra armour and spaced armour kits Forgeworld did for inspiration?
